Very Basic Site. I would suggest not suitable for children as there is pretty much nothing except an empty field with Hookups. NO swings, or pool or anything for children to do. Just a bare grass field, but it was nice and quiet, though lots of dogs.
Nice views. Toilets and Showers OK, nothing special. One water tap on the field. Internet was £8 for 7 days. (Why do we have to pay for Internet in the UK when its free at most sites in France?)
Good position for trips into Weymouth and out to Portland. Shops are close but on the plus side site is nice and quiet.
Would I go again? No.

Great campsite with fabulous views of chesil beach and the fleet.
Toilet blocks were very clean and well stocked with toiletries. Showers nice and hot.
Plenty of shops for those extra bits you may need and the smugglers just 10mins walk have really good for and fine ales on offer.
Friendly staff in the farmhouse.
I would definitely use this campsite again.

Went away with great sunshine week end and hottest day of the year lol. Site was great with sea views never tried the beach access but will next time we go. £15 a night for 2 and kids go free up to age of 12yrs old. Lots of animals on sight and horses walked through the campsite. Toilets were OK in men bit the showers were great nice and hot and in with the price, ladies had just been updated and wife said they were fantastic.
Just down the road 5mins walk is a chip shop and Chinese if you like to eat out tried fish and chips and they were great hit the spot. Would go back again. Overall I would have give this all 10 out 10 but the men toilets need updating.

Great little site, you can see it's work in progress, but It could and hopefully will be a fantastic little site, views are stunning. Ladies toilet block was in the process of being finished whilst we were there, & I must say they were lovely once finished. Access can be a bit tight, please ensure you come in the south road entrance as this is the easiest way in, site owners were lovely, never actually saw them in the fields, but when I booked in the lady was really nice and showed me what was where. You can buy eggs etched at the farmhouse, weymouth about 1. 5 miles away, as is Portland.
No play area for the kids, but I'm sure it will come in time, the field could have done with a roller over it, just to level it out, as it has had sheep in it just prior to our arrival. All in a great little site and myself and my friends (6 vans ), will certainly be booking again

We stayed here in August for a weekend with a family party of 3 Tents, with parents, grandparents and kids. The views are lovely and the campsite has easy access to Weymouth. We used the bus to go into Weymouth, when you leave the site turn right which is South road and you will find the bus stop, don`t turn left as the bus stop along that route is no longer serviced as we found out!
On this site you can pitch where you like which is really nice if you are with others like us. The owner was friendly and we paid £15 a night which we thought was about right for the facilities.
The facilities are basic, however the showers are hot and everything was kept clean, my only comment was that some of the locks could do with replacing. There are mirrors in the toilet, however it would of helped to have one in the actual block where there was a socket so you could dry your hair for those of us without EHU.
There are washing up facilities outside the shower block and this is where you will find the drinking water tap also.
There is a laundry room and this is where the fridge freezer is which is great if you don't have EHU.
There is currently building work going on in the stable yard but this didn't bother us. To get to the camping field you go through the stable yard but again the yard is kept tidy. You will see the occasional horse etc but they`re not noisy so not a problem! Martleaves Farm is just that, a farm, so I don't understand some reviews that seem surprised by horses etc.
We liked this site for a weekend and will be returning. The kids loved the ponies and alpacas and kept themselves entertained. If you like real camping this site is good value.

Lovely peaceful campsite with beautiful views of Fleet Lagoon, Chesil beach and the sea. The coastal footpath can be joined from the farm, a nice walk but this isn't a suitable area for swimming. Plenty of room, so tents not crowded, pick your own pitch. There are two Fire pits in the field, for everyone's use, however we found families had pitched their tents nearby and we didn't feel we could invade their space by having our fire right next to their tent (particularly as I had teenagers with me, and the tents next to the fire pits had young children, with different bedtimes I'm sure!)
Local shop, fish and chips and pub all walking distance, and the next village Abbotsbury had a very useful camping shop.
The only downside was too few showers and toilets available. I counted 26 tents and caravans, with just 3 toilets and 3 showers between us all. However the showers and loos were very clean, plenty of hot water and no charge to use them.

Visited here over the August bank holiday, didn't really get off to a good start, we had booked in April but when we arrived the owner wasn't sure he had a pitch for us as some people had decided to stay longer than they had booked! Site very crowded tents and caravans and motorhomes randomly parked - no real planning had gone in to the site, electric cable all over the place very dangerous. It stated that they had 5 pitches one day we counted 13 caravans 8 motorhomes and at least 12 tents, we did find out that the tent field had been closed by the council so every one was in the one field. Ladies toilets kept clean, men, s toilets in the livery yard don't know what they were like hubby refused to use them. We didn't like the fact that the three showers were unisex and in the ladies toilet block, not good when you have families with children and males using the same showers. Some building work being carried out that did not bother us. Positives, very good location for getting around we caught the bus in to Weymouth very easy and enough local shops to get supplies, good walks for the dog, fab views, possibly would go back but would like to see some improvements to separate showers from toilets, and some thought in to booking people in. Could be a fantastic site with a bit of planning.

For those with caravans I strongly advise using these directions ~ Take the signs from Weymouth towards Portland (A354), taking Boot Hill, Rodwell Road, Buxton Road. Once in Wyke Regis on the A354 Portland Road, turn right at the traffic lights by Dowsetts Garage into Langton Avenue, 1st right to Marlborough Avenue, 2nd left into South Road. Take the Swallows Rest B&B entrance, drive straight ahead and left through the riding school into the site.
Welcomed on arrival by a friendly man who had the difficult job of fitting another caravan into a field which was already full, (much use of power lead splitters) but he managed well. The site itself is in a beautiful location, with many interesting activities and benefits from a huge amount of local places of interest. Other reviews have adequately covered issues which emanate from a work in progress, hopefully the improvements are made quickly. We anticipate visiting again.

An excellent site, which far surpassed my expectations. Peaceful and with great views out over Portland, this farm site's toilets and showers are clean and functional. The reception from the owners at the farmhouse was outstanding, and they genuinely want you to enjoy your holiday. The farm location is very authentic, and horses, sheep and alpacas are all visible from the site. All in all, a fantastic site.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Martleaves Farm. Beautiful views, a warm welcome, shower and toilet facilities very good, cleaned every day. The children loved the farm animals and were encouraged to visit them in the garden behind the back of the farmhouse at any time. Access to drinking water always available and it was lovely to be able to have a fire in the evenings. Would definitely recommend this site and we are booking again for next year!
