My wife and I spent a very pleasant week at Emberton Country Park. It is an exceptionally beautiful spot - brilliant for kids - the camping sites are on grass - accessed by a network of narrow internal park roadways, a good distance from the main road, hence it is very quiet, except from the sounds of the pigeons. It's a birdwatchers paradise. With the lakes, swans and ducks its all very picturesque. The park staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative was the wash/toilet facilities - at best they can be considered adequate - but they don't do justice to an otherwise flawless camping site.

We stayed here for a long weekend (it's local) to try out our trailer tent. We weren't looking forward to the shower / toilet facilities, as last time we viewed them (2004/2005) they left a lot to be desired.
I can say that we were pleasantly surprised as the facilities have obviously been updated since then.
3 x WC & 3 x shower for both men & women with pot washing facilities in between both.
Toilets & showers were cleaned early - mid morning, although they were looking a little grubby by the end of the day.
Site is generally flat, with good play area & open spaces for youngsters to play ball games etc.
Quiet mid-week but gets very busy at weekends. There are no noise curfews, which didn't really bother us too much as noise seemed to die down naturally at about 11:00pm.
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying again for a long weekend if we need to stay locally.

June 2005 This was our third visit to Emberton Country Park, I am pleased to say that although a little basic in the amenities the site is fantastic for a short break. The park is enormous with loads of room for playing. If you have older kids it is quite a secure place to let them roam about as swipe cards are issued to allow cars into the park, but beware as there are numerous lakes and a river as well. The shower facilities could be cleaner but were ok. We will definitely return. Andyl. a happy camper.

June 2005 First ever camping trip - so nothing to compare the site with. We had a great time - loads of space good playgrounds for kids - good entertainment with a Triathelon event going on that weekend. We were on the touring site - toilets and showers a bit rank towards the end of the weekend. Don't think they have been cleaned since the start of the season given the amount of cobwebs and mould in places! Didn't spoil our weekend - but came home + quickly had a good shower!

May 2005 We've just been for a weekend here to try out our new tent. great site. We stayed in the small rally field which we had to ourselves so loads of room and overlooking the river. It was a fair distance to the toilets but these were kept clean. There was also a large rally field next to us. In a seperate area of the park (approx 1/2 mile away) was the touring field which had loos and showers and also looked very nice. (I think they must have been improved since the earlier reviews) There are 2 good play areas and lots of open space surrounding lakes.

July 2004 A really lovely site, particularly for children. There is tons of space for them to play in and lots of areas for playing ball games. We went with friends for a short weekend break (we only live 20 minutes away!!), and had more friends visit just for the day. Although it was fully booked (it was the British Grand Prix not far up the road), it didn't matter as the pitch sizes are generous and the atmosphere was good. The toilet block definitely needed modernising but was adequate and didn't spoil our enjoyment. Will definitely be going back !!

September 2003 We visited this site with 4 other families for a 2-night weekend break this September (2003). The weather was very warm and sunny for this time of year and we all had a very good time.
The park is large and the children found lots of places to play. The pitches are flat and a good size but the toilet facilities were totally inadequate for the size of the site and the number of people who were staying there. The shower block had clearly been there for many years and had seen better days. The conditions were so unhygienic that it looked unsafe to let the children use the showers. I could not recommend this site to anyone who does not have an on- suite bathroom in their tent.
