We visited Zeacombe House as part of our tour of the West Country. We stayed two nights.
When making the booking just a day ahead we were in an area with poor mobile reception and the owner of Zeacombe House without being asked very kindly retuned my call from her land line making the booking much easier than it would have otherwise been.
The site has really large pitches making it quite private and making for a really green site with unspoilt views.
We used the meal service which was very efficient and we enjoyed a nice hot meal.
The one of the shower / sink / toilets was bathroom style which was very convenient.
Whilst at Zeacombe House we were fortunate to see a rare bird a Albino Sparrow.
We visited a great pub near enough to the site The Anchor Inn at Exbridge, and enjoyed a really tasty locally caught fish lunch. We were able to park our camper in the carpark with no problems.
We enjoyed our stay at Zeacombe House.

This is a lovely landscaped site with generous pitches from a tarmac drive around the site & a very well equipped toilet/shower block and laundry room. The site we feel has all you need whilst away from home. There is easy access with no narrow roads to negotiate. Supermarket - Tiverton or South Molton with all other town facilities. There are 3 National Trust Properties & good walks here in North Devon & on Exmoor. Visited Lorna Doone Valley for a walk & Tarr Steps from Withypool along the river also Dunkery Beacon from Luccombe. Nothing within walking distance of site. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Just returned from 8 wonderful nights at Zeacombe House site. The pitches are very large and all occupants are purposefully spaced out to get the most privacy.
The bathroom block is very clean, with loads of hot water at all times of day and no waiting.
We tried the on-site food service on our first night and found it to be very tasty, well presented and most welcome after a 4 hour drive and 2 hours of assembling the tent.
The site is well located for Exmoor and I would highly recommend.

Just returned from an enjoyable stay at Zeacombe House. On arrival we were met by Linda and given a cup of coffee which was very welcomed after an early journey. She also told us of a fantastic 'greasy spoon' where we were able to get a breakfast, we would never had known about this place!
Tents usually go in the back field but as my daughter was arriving the following day we were given pitches in the 1st field so as we could be next to each other and were even able to choose which pitches we wanted. The owners are so down to earth and accommodating, just our type of people.
The pitches are lovely and level and the site was immaculate with well kept grass. All the usual amenities were available, toilets, showers, sinks and separate wash cubicles for privacy and cleaned daily. The wash up and laundry are inside as well so not cold!
You do need a car to go anywhere from site but this suited us as it made it peaceful. Exmoor was only a 5 minute drive away, where we enjoyed a lovely hike.
It was lovely to be able to order food from the site at a time to suit us (meals served between 6 and 8pm) It was piping hot and very reasonably priced. No cooking, no washing up, just take the plates back (although we did wash up as my husband didn't feel right taking back dirty plates!)
There is an information centre on site with plenty of leaflets and mags etc on places to visit and things to do.
The pitches are huge with more than enough room for privacy and the site is beautifully landscaped.
All in all a lovely stay at a fab site and we will be definitely returning and becoming one of Linda's regulars!

After seeing the comments about the site, we were about 50/50 on what to expect and there was only one recent review and the majority of it were from previous years. Well what a pleasant surprise! We arrived late (stuck on M5) at about 20.30. Lin and Pete (the owners) welcomed us and Lin let us choose which ever pitch we wanted. Plenty of room on every pitch (grass or hard standing) all with EHU and all flat.
After choosing a spot and settling the bill (£20 per night all in - van, EHU awning and dog) we started to set up when Lin suddenly appeared asking us if we were ok and needing anything. Great customers service thank you!
Now the site: Peace and tranquillity with no kids shouting or chasing around. Bliss.
Showers and toilets clean, free hot water and nice dog exercise area (although not very large). Small little shop on site which has most of the little necessary items that you always forget. The only (very small) down fall is that the nearest pub is about 3 mile-ish from the site on an unlit road.
Some of the regulars were on the site and although at first this could be a little overwhelming everybody on site was very friendly. We will definitely go back - thanks Lin and Pete for a wonderful staying!

Arrived Saturday lunch time in our 32 foot American motor-home and was met by Lin and Pete's friendly faces.
Pete even offered to park the RV as Malc had just had major shoulder surgery and I am not confident at reversing (This was refused as Malc stubborn but nice to be offered).
Adult only site which is ideal for a peaceful break but within driving distance of all the local attractions.
Lovely clean site with tarmac roads, no grass to walk into your vehicle as all lawns are mown and the cut grass is all collected as it is cut, while we where there Pete cut the grass at least twice in the week.
Large spaces between pitches ensured that privacy was maintained.
Toilets and showers where very clean and hot water always available.
Meals available where hot and wholesome and no washing up which has got to be a bonus while on holiday.(Enjoyed 4 off these during the week)
To top all of this the weather was fabulous so will definitely be going back again.

This is a lovely Adults only site which was very peaceful. It was beautifully kept and the shower block was always spotlessly clean.
An added bonus was the take away food which was superb.
A small shop has essentials like milk and butter but it was a good 5-10 mins drive in the car to nearby village of Dulverton for papers and any other shopping.
No where to walk outside the site as there is a very busy road, the dog walk was very small and next to the main road.
We visited lots of places in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, this is an ideal base for sight seeing and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

What a nice little site, owners are very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. This site is right in the middle of north Devon great for visiting places of all directions. The site itself is set out very nice, the pitches are really big. We pitched near the road and we had no probs with noise. You must try the food which the owners cook it is very very good but beware it is hot. The showers and toilets are very clean with constant hot water. The only thing we found that let it down for us is that the weather was not that good but that is not the owners fault. If you want a peaceful site with friendly owners plus good food then give this a go.

This is Our fifth Year back to this site. Once again an excellent site. The Showers have had a refurbishment with some really nice tiles. Spotless as always.
Even though the weather has been awful the grass pitches were well maintained.
The takeaway food was as always good value.
Will be back again I'm sure.

This is a nice site if the weather is good and you just want to laze about in the sun.
It is very isolated (6 miles to get a newspaper).
The dog field is very small and there is nowhere to walk a dog without going onto the road.
The 'take away' meal service is a good idea but rather expensive considering being take away, no VAT, no restaurant, therefore no staff to pay and very basic only one veg & potatoes.
The brochure shows a telephone box on site but there is not one. I had the misfortune to have a problem with my caravan mover and asked if I could pay to use the warden's phone to make a call and was politely told no, I did not think this very friendly, being as it was an emergency. This meant I had to make a 8 mile journey to the nearest phone box.
I have no faults with the site itself, but as I say it is very isolated.
