A very nice site with lots of space.
There is a nice Pub 2 miles down the lane (The Jubilee) where they sell good food at reasonable prices.
Unless you don't mind the noise, try to avoid the pitches near the main road. The traffic can keep you awake most of the night if you are a light sleeper.
Ensure you have you showers early in the morning or later in the day because the owners turn off the water heaters during the afternoon.
If the weather is bad, there is little to do apart from sit in your tent or travel to one of the nearest towns around 20 minutes drive away.
The shop is also sparse with little stock.
There are no local dog walks requiring you to drive to the nearest walk.

Very disappointed with this site and will not be returning there.
Visited there on Friday night, paid for 4 nights for 2 adults £18 per night (£72) which was steep for what was on offer.
The site lacked any atmosphere.
We had difficulty in sleeping due to a very noisy road on the periphery of the site. We were wide awake by 0515hrs and had a walk round to the back field of the site which did not appear to be much of an improvement on the traffic noise. In the end we decided to pack up and go elsewhere, we asked the lady owner to consider a partial refund for the further 3 nights we had paid for, but she would not budge and refused stating she could not in case it showed up during her tax inspection???. So a lesson learned here, do not pay upfront for more than 1 night until you know you are totally satisfied. Instead she suggested we move our tent to the back field which we knew would not resolve the issue.
The toilets and shower facilities were good and were clean for the short time we were there.
The grass was well maintained.
The owners appeared friendly when we arrived and offered to lend us their hook up. However when the lady stated she was unable to give us even a partial refund in the circumstances due to the tax man we would rather she would have come up with a better story.
To sum up, we believe this site is more appropriate for caravans and motor homes who will not notice the traffic noise as much. If you are in a tent pack the earplugs.
We have visited some excellent campsites this summer so far with lots of nature, character and quaintness. Perhaps we have been spoiled.

We have just spent 8 nights at this lovely site, we booked for 6 nights but liked it so much we extended our stay.
The pitches are really large and you have a choice of grass or hard standing, we had a grass pitch opposite reception and very close to the facilities to accommodate late night excursions!
The showers were great with constant hot water and a good size area to get dressed in, with hooks and a stool.
We decided to be decadent as we were on holiday and ordered from the hot meal service on three nights of our stay. When they say hot meals they mean HOT!
Couldn't fault the menu choice, we both had what we wanted and enjoyed all of our selections. No washing up (except for knives and forks) so that's a plus also.
Even though we come from an area where it goes silent from 9pm the proximity of the road didn't bother us at all. It could be something of a race track though at certain times of the day and care was necessary when leaving the site.
MOST IMPORTANT; don't rely on your satnav to get you close to the site. Follow the directions given by the site owners, they know the local roads and which are suitable for caravans. We tried out the satnav form three different directions and it always sent us on narrow hilly roads, totally unsuitable for caravans.
Would we go back? If in the area definitely.

Have just returned from a 3 day break over the BH holiday weekend. The site is really good, large pitches with well looked after grass (often lacking on some sites). The owners were really friendly, although we weren't given any information when we arrived on site. We used the meal service provided on Saturday night and it would have been useful to be told that they only cook a certain number at a set time, as we would have ordered earlier to ensure the time we would have preferred. That said, the meal was really good and would certainly recommend it. The showers were great and a lot bigger than most sites we have stayed on, with constant hot water and a good size area to get dressed in, with hooks and a stool, couldn't fault them at all.
We would certainly visit this site again.

A lovely site with very friendly owners. The picthes are large and the site is very well maintained.
The showers were spacious and hot (amongst the best we have come across).
The owners offer a takeaway service - order from the extensive menu before 4pm and arrange a time between 6pm and 8pm to collect it. All The food is served on covered china plates and tastes delicious! Return the plates when you have finished and they wash them up! What more can you ask for!
The site also has a dog area - this is fairly small but does the job for first thing in the morning and last thing at night visits!
We will definitely be returning!

We visited this site over the Bank Holiday week and were impressed at the size of the pitches. Even though the weather was a challenge some days, there was no mud or soggy bits of the field. The owners were great and couldn't have been more helpful and they do provide cooked meals to eat in your unit. The veggie choice was a bit limited (unless you like various 'Bakes') but hubbie had chicken and chips and was very happy. The toilets and showers were spotless and one cubicle had shower, basin and toilet all in one, which was a great idea. I never had to queue and there was always hot water when I needed it. The dish washing facilities were also very clean. The site is right beside a small B road. We noticed traffic noise occasionally but that's because of where we live and no one else really noticed it. The nearest town of any size is Tiverton, which takes about 15 mins to drive to. Barnstable is slightly further and took no more than 30 mins. There are two main supermarkets in Tiverton (Tesco and Morrisons) as well as a M&S Food to go. The sweet little town centre has many independent shops rather than just the big nationals, although the bigger names are there too. Would we go back? Happily!

The shower blocks were clean. The takeaway food is brillant and worth every penny.
