A group of us had a few days on this site and found it great that all pitches had both hook up and drinking water taps. We all found the site relaxing and with options for walkers
As the name suggests it's very handy for the Falkirk Wheel which is a short off road walk away
As others have mentioned Ian the owner could not be more helpful and invited us all to a ceilidh on the Saturday night and were musically entertained by Ian on his guitar and pipes along with 4 friends who were camping on site with their instruments
Toilets, Shower and Wash Room area were all immaculately clean and we understand there will be a 2 further showers installed during the low season
Well off the main road so very peaceful
Definitely would go again

Just a couple of miles outside Falkirk town, but only a 10 minute cycle on cycle path down to the Wheel. From there you can ride on cycle paths to either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
As previous reviews show, site a large gravelled area with electric on each pitch and water on the majority. There are toilets which were clean and well maintained, 1 ladies shower and 1 gents - both electric, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. We never queued, as long as everyone doesn't go at 8am its fine.
Without a doubt the Ceilidh is a fantastic addition to what you get there. We were lucky enough to have several campers who could sing, a couple who danced and Ian the campsite owner who sings and plays bagpipes beautifully.
Its not a 5 star manicured site. It is pretty well perfect if you are looking for somewhere with access to miles after mile of walking paths and the canals right off your doorstep.
Ian the campsite owner was always around keeping things in order, but never in your face. He checked you are happy with everything and makes sure everyone is having a good stay. He also runs a shuttle service to the train station if you want a lift to get a train to one of the cities.
We loved it - £21 for the night for 2 with electric.

As previous reviewers have noted this isn't the most landscaped site. Just a large gravel site with a small toilet\washing block, what makes it stand out is the great location and laid back owner who puts on a wee ceilidh evening at the weekend. The Falkirk Wheel is a short walk and the Kelpies an easy cycle.
There was no rush to be offsite which allowed us to really make the most of our weekend, there was no charge for children(no play park on site) which made it a very reasonable 42pounds for the weekend.

I'll be honest and say that this was the site I was least sure off out of all that I'd booked for our 2 week tour of Scotland. The pictures and some reviews made it look quite utilitarian and I only booked it because of its location for the Falkirk Wheel.
As it was, it turned out to be a revelation and everyone on our party fell in love with the site. It's true that the all-gravel nature of the site is unusual and not hugely attractive but it was immensely practical and made for easy pitching. What the picture fail to convey is the beautiful views you get from your pitch of the rolling, grassy hillside right next to the site and the Highland cattle within easy reach.
As mentioned elsewhere the site owner is a lovely man and very welcoming as well as laid back, all of which created a great atmosphere on site during our stay.
But more than all of the above was its close proximity to the Falkirk Wheel and surrounding attractions: the walk from the site is short, attractive and avoids any roads, perfect for a short stroll and giving easy access to walkers and dog owners alike.
My advice? Ignore the pictures and the nay sayers, visit the site and love every minute of it!

This site is very local to us, but we wanted to get somewhere close on a Friday afternoon, as we had to wait for our grandson finishing school. So a perfect choice.
As others have said, a work in progress, but amenities are ideal.
The owner, Ian is a very welcoming, helpful and pleasant man and was always keen to ask how things were and if anything needed.
Even though we know this area well, the location is superb. The site is in a very quite, location, along a farm track. It is a short wald to the Union Canal and the Falkirk Wheel. Whether walking or cycling, the location is as good as you will get anywhere.
Ian held one of his Ceiledhs on the Saturday night. Probably 15 or 16 turned up. Ian played his pipes and guitar, with a bit of singing and some ceilidh dancing. Unexpected, but a really nice night.
There is no playpark for kids here, but the Falkirk Wheel is so close and it has a great play area.
Close to home, but a superb weekend away.

Positive:
The owner is really nice
The location is good for walks to the wheel
Sanitary looks temporary and improvisational from the outside, but is nice and clean and good working on the inside
Negative:
There is no lawn just loose stones, difficult to walk and ugly
Place looks like a building site, I had no children with me but I was wondering
What they could do on a place like that
Price is quite high for that, paid 24 £ for one night
Overall:
Very friendly owner,
Good for a stopover but no pretty place to stay, to expensive for what is offered
But because the site is new I guess it will become better from year to year

Agree with previous reviewer's comments. Not fancy and as it is very new rather spartan in appearance but very friendly owner. Did not seem to have anywhere grassy for children to play but as this is not a requirement for us we were not really looking. Kitchen looked clean and had a washing machine and microwave.
Dogs owners were able to take their dogs for walks without worrying about traffic as the site is well away from the public road.

Well what a wonderful quiet new site, firstly the toilet and shower block is temporary but all done in wet wall spotless clean, it is all hard standing which has still to settle in places the perimeter is not the best but Ian the owner tells me hes going to plant hawthorn bushes around it, at 21 pounds a night and half a dozen free fresh farm eggs what a bargain, he has a wooden building which he tells me is going to be a ceilidh barn as he plays bagpipes and guitar so I cant wait for that, its literally 5 mins walk to Falkirk wheel giving you access to cycle towpaths fishing on the forth and clyde canal, I cant wait to go back think ill see a big change next season and Ian is a gent wants to help you in any way he can

A nice new site that just needs a few little tweaks to make it spot on. Considering how close it is to Falkirk it is really quiet no noise at all apart from the dawn chorus but who doesn't mind that. All hard standing on gravel which is still a bit deep in places but will settle down, all pitches have hook up and a tap and drain at each post and there is plenty of room. Toilets are clean and tidy. The site is lit up at night but not to bright to keep you awake. The site is in a wooded area with numerous walks from your pitch with a massive amount of off-road bike tracks. A 10 min walk gets you to the canal and the Falkirk wheel a must see. We also biked along the canal to the Kelpies which was a very easy 4 or 5 miles ride. Can't say much about Falkirk town we didn't go into it. The owner very friendly and happy to chat and offer any advise needed no pressure to be off pitch at 10 am.
