Fabulous campsite near Tunbridge Wells. The owner Bob is the kindest, most helpful host we've ever met who genuinely engages with his customers and especially the children, offering lifts in his mini tractor.
To call Strictly Camping a campsite is underselling it, it's really a collection of camping pitches which are so spaced out form each other it can be impossible to see a neighbour. The site was at capacity over the bank holiday weekend, but you would never have known.
Safe - if a little bumpy! - cycle tracks kept our group's children entertained all weekend while the adults enjoyed the tranquility and isolation of this stunning campsite.
Do be prepared for a long walk to the (spotlessly clean) facilities if you choose to camp remotely but this is a small price to pay. Bob ferries your kit to the campsite for you which adds to the personal touch he brings to his venture.
We will without doubt go back, and hope it remains as quiet and as much of a secret as it has felt this year.

A woodland campsite with the option of good sized woodland pitches (close or remote to the facilities) or a field pitch surrounded by horse paddocks.
Tucked away off the a21 this is a new campsite and has great facilities for 'simple back to basics' camping. There is a toilet block and 2 showers as well as a covered, well lit washing up area. The great bonus is the covered communal area which has ample seating for a few groups if the weather changes for the worse and now has a table tennis table to keep you occupied.
My husband and I stayed for three nights and we're greeted by Bob the owner who showed us the facilities and gave us his opinion on the best spot to pitch our tent based on why we had come (escaping back to nature). He then pointed out possible walks, what we might find walking through his woodland and made sure we had everything such as logs for the fire pit or ice to keep or food fresh.
Our pitch was level and had a great fire pit made from old car wheel rims with added grill to cook food on. At night you were able to hear all the wildlife rustling about and during the day you could explore the large woodland.
A fantastic site and I'd recommend to single campers, couples and families. Anyone who would like to camp among the trees!

We have just returned from 2 fabulous nights camping in the middle of the woods, yet just an hour from London. This is a an amazing campsite, with woodland pitches which make you feel in the middle of the wilderness yet with a flushing loo close by!
The site is a combination of woodland, with bluebells about to bloom, a stream with a lake which has fish in it, and then an open field surrounded by horses. Every camping area has its own fire pit which Bob has set up with a grill so you can cook straight over the fire. There are also tree stumps for stools around each fire pit.
We saw deer, rabbits, bats, a badger set, loads of birds as well as the resident horses and chickens. Perfect for children to play safely in the woods building dens and paddling in the stream looking for fish.
We had the place to ourselves, although I suspect once word gets out this will be the last time- Bob couldn't have been more helpful- provided wood for the fire, carried our stuff to our pitch (as well as selecting a great spot), showed us where the wild garlic grows and the badgers live. There is a covered areas near the toilets and showers, with tables and chairs if the weather is wet, and the whole place runs on low tech, eco solar power for lighting and gas for hot water.
Things to note: this is a woodland camping experience so you can't drive up into the woodland pitches, some are more 'remote' than others, so check if you have a lot of gear. Bob will help with transporting but the furthest pitches are probably a 5 min walk from the toilets/washing up area. At night we did hear a bit of road noise from the A21. This is not at all noticeable during the day but in the quiet of the night, if you are a light sleeper pack ear plugs. There is a tesco within 10 mins drive and Tunbridge Wells is about 15-20mins depending on traffic.
Can't wait to return
