Just returned from a weekend at this site.
We had a pleasant welcome and were told there was no need to be off the pitch at any particular time on the Sunday - always a winner with me.
We were in the Rally field but there was no rally, just us and a caravan in a huge field.
It was a bit of a trek to the toilets but that's usually the case for us! They are a little dated but clean.
The site is mainly statics and tourers on seasonal pitches and most of these were unoccupied so it was very quiet. There is also a tent field but that doesn't have hook ups. This also is a way from from the toilets.
The site shop has a few basics and the ice cream van comes everyday. The village pub is walkable. Also you can walk to a station on one end of the Nene Valley railway.
Will definitely go back for a weekend break.

If you are looking for total peace and quiet apart from the airplanes in and out of Sibson Aeordrome, you can't get quieter than here. Watching the parachutes come down was fascinating. It is a very pretty area with plenty of walks to head off on. A little disappointed that the strict rule of departure by 12 noon couldn't be a little more relaxed if there are no other campers booked in for the day or until later on. You are not even able to move from your pitch and park up while still enjoying the site, barrier system prevents you staying on. The toilets are very old fashioned and cramped compared to many that we have experienced. Not a lot of room to get into the loo. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Recommend the site and would go again.

We recently visited Yarwell Mill for a weekend with family. The site is excellent and very tidy, although the toilets could do with updating. We were located on the rally field which meant that the fishing spaces were very limited and to be honest, very poor.
The weekend was spoilt by the customer service levels from the site management team so I will not be returning to what is a really good site.

Lovely setting with the river Nene going right around the site and a big pool in the centre although maybe I would be wary if I had young children with so much water around. Very much set up for caravans we felt, and most of them are permanent pitches rather than tourers so it is a bit of a 'community' that you're visiting more so than other sites where everyone is a visitor. The tent field could do with having a few plants/bushes put in to separate it up a bit - at the moment it is just a massive field so everyone tends to pitch all around the edges first. The toilet and shower blocks are a fair old trek from the tent field but were always really clean and there were never any queues, presumably because the caravans all had their own facilities. You have to pay 20p for the showers but that lasted long enough to wash hair quickly too and pitch price is a lot lower than some other sites so didn't mind paying. The warden ladies were lovely, they said they had only been there a few weeks but were very helpful and recommended pubs nearby that would allow the dog in, and some things that we could do like canoeing or going on the nearby tourist steam train (Nene Valley Railway - 10 mins walk). There are three pubs within walking distance (10-15 mins) although take a torch so you can walk back over the fields - the Angel in Yarwell was really lovely (I don't think they do food). The site is right next to several public footpaths so lots of nice walks out without having to drive somewhere and lots of pretty villages nearby to wander around! Overall we had a lovely stay and I would go back if I was visiting the area but really think the site would benefit from a little toilet portaloo or something on the tent field to save the poor little legs of the campers!

A very pretty site in a lovely location. The new managers were very helpful 'bikers' who suggested the village pub once they knew we had a bike.
Very few touring pitches with hook up left as most are taken up with seasonal caravans.
Very large touring field and very large tent field, however these are the furthest pitches away from the toilets! (I would not be happy being pitched so far from the loos on a wet & windy night!)
Fish and chip van comes on site Saturday night and a 'fry-up' van comes on Sunday morning doing a HUGE breakfast for £3.50.
Nice 10min walk across the fields to the Nene Valley Steam railway, which if you take your campsite receipt with you gets you a 50% discount on any train rides you take! A super way to go shopping in Peterborough! Will use again!

The previous reviews are VERY fair! A large site with only a small number of touring hook-up pitches, VERY large rally field and VERY large tent field but these are a LONG way from the toilets and showers! Only 4 showers & 4 loos per sex for a site that contains 100+ units!
VERY helpful new staff, fish & chip van Sat' night and a burger van doing anything from a sausage to a full english on Sunday morning.
After the pub in the village it's at least 2m to the nearest shop!
The start of the Nene Valley steam railway is a 15min walk across the fields and offer 50% discount to campers so take your pitch receipt!
Will use again if only for the superb location and quiet setting!

This was our second visit to Yarwell, the first time was May Bank Holiday,
It has recently changed managers and this visit was by far the better, they were very helpful and helped with any queries instantly.
It is situated right by the River Nene so you can watch the boats go by .
Our group of friends were all in tents so we could not be near to each other, quite a distance to walk, not a problem though, we were well aware of this before we went. There is only about 7 touring visiting pitches, the rest are all taken by seasonal caravans. The showers are good, not a lot though for the size of the site, but very clean.
Excellent walking leaving the site, walk to Wansford Station and see the steam trains, or catch the train from Yarwell, you may be lucky enough to ride on Thomas,
Two lovely pubs in Nassington, excellent food, we only live about 30 minutes away, but it is perfect for a short break. We will definitely return .

This was our first visit to Yarwell and to be honest were very dissapointed.
We went as a group of 17 all in tents, 5 families in total. The site is loveley. Setting is beside a river and locks with a fishing lake in the centre.
First complaint is that the toilet block is beside the caravans, it is about a 7 minute walk from the tent field. (we thought strange as the caravans all have toilets on board). It was clean and well mainained although the showers were charged at 20p per go (approx 4 minutes).
The next bad thing was that the wardens attitude was appauling. We had erected 2 gazebos as was raining very heavily on the friday we arrived. The wardens DEMANDED that we take them down within 15 minutes otherwise we would be asked to leave the campsite. It did take us a little longer than 15 minutes to get the gazebos down and so ensued the wrath of the wardens.
One of our party arrived just after 5. 30 pm and was told that on no certain terms was he and his 5 year old child allowed to enter as the park was closed. The child by this stage of course was in tears. While the warden was sat twiddling his thumbs in the office.
The site is well laid out and would be lovely to visit if the wardens were changed. I, and the rest of our party will NOT be visiting again in the near future until such times as the wardens have moved on.
We were 5/ families who live within 30 minutes of the campsite and will not be returning any time soon.

Our first visit to Yarwell was a long weekend
Spoilt only by very cold weather. Water water everywhere so kids need to be watched. Welcome visit of fish and chip van Thursday and Saturday evenings. No shop on site but good village shop in nearby village of Wansford. Even nearer is Nassington with smaller village shop and butcher.
Several pubs within 3 mile radius, advertised on the site but not personally tested this time.
Toilet are very clean and tidy but if you don't have on board facilities the walk might be a problem from some pitches. Warden and staff very friendly and helpful. Nice walks available.
Will visit again.

The site itself was really beautiful and the caravans we went with were nicely spaced out. We went with a tent and although we told them them this, they put us the furthest distance from the toilets - the other side of the lake. Apart from the awful weather - so cold it froze the zip on the tent - I'd go again - just not in a tent
