Stayed for 3 nights at the end of May. Site was very nice, quiet and peaceful. Facilities were really clean but the toilet block was on the small side, only 2 toilets in each, having said that they were rarely busy. Family bathroom and excellent shower rooms were available. Tokens and change needed for hot water facilities, which was a bit of a pain. But the price of the pitch more than offset this.
To us it seemed that the site was for seasonal pitches in the main, these being of a good size with plenty of room. Our pitch with EHU was in the caravan storage area! This meant longer grass but plenty of room for our young children to play. Though it did make us feel a bit like 2nd class citizens.
Site owners very friendly and the site was very secure and well kept. Not much in the way of shops on site or nearby so you did have to travel a bit further afield for supplies.
All said, would probably go again for a short break.

My wife and I have spent a very quiet and peaceful week at this site and will definitely be returning ASAP. The sun shone most of the week allowing us to either relax and soak in the sun, or visit the many delights which this area of York has to offer. The site is being extended in a very tasteful manner and the site owners are hands on people, and together with their staff are there to welcome you when you arrive and to say Au revoir when you leave. New toilet and washing facilities are at the moment being built, which will make this site to be a even more attractive place to rest awhile.

2002 It is about 11 miles north of York and is in very attractive countryside. The pitches are horseshoe shaped so there is plenty space in the middle of each area. I think that there were 6 showers/toilets/basins - all these things in together in individual rooms. The showers were £1 for 7 mins - the drawback being the tokens weren't readily available as the reception had short hours and the man on the site didn't have many tokens! But these amenities were spotless and the water was hot. Washing up was 10p. Plenty of hookups even for tents. The drawback was no play area for children and no shop onsite. The village has a shop but it is not open on Sundays. There was a lot of wildlife around and on the way to your pitch you literally drive through field of cows and sheep - a bit like a safari park! Our tent for 2 adults + 2 kids was £6.50 per night (+showers etc). To sum up - very clean and spacious, reasonably priced, scenic, handy for York and surrounds but not much for kids and no shop a big aggravation for that early morning pinta!
