Agree with former comment. A little gem of a site. Visited this site with my friend and her two 17 year old girls and their boyfriends (my girls wouldn't come!) We had a large tent and a gazebo and plenty of room as we were the only campers in tents. Owner and other campers very friendly. We all like peace and quiet and that's what we got. No noisy campers and music.
It isnt a big field but adequate. The toilet and shower facilities are as described, not the ritz but clean and big enough.
There is now a sink with lots of hot water for washing up. We had a fire in the bbq and was able to get rid of the embers in dustbins provided.
Brighouse is about 5 mins away and has all the shops you need without being too big, there's not a lot in Elland.
Overall a quiet, friendly and secure site and will be going again (in fact this weekend!) as the previous comment said don't go or we wont be able to get on ourselves.

Just come back from a long weekend here. I'd love to say that it's rubbish - don't go - because I want to go back and to be able to get in!
Actually it's a superb hideaway offering a relaxed ambience, yet only walking distance from 2 pubs, Elland town centre (albeit all uphill to get there) and the canal towpath into Brighouse.
Reception arrangements are a bit 'hit and miss' - you pull into the car park, but there is no sign of where to go. A lady cleaning her car directed us to the warden's bungalow, where we received a warm Yorkshire welcome. Alan, the warden, saw us onto the camping field, and sorted us out with everything. There is a £10 deposit on the entrance pass - but you get that back when you leave.
There are eleven caravan pitches, but I reckon at least three or four are taken for the season. There is also space for a few tents down one side.
Toilet facilities are a portaloo unit sited at the back of the residential bungalows next door, accessed down a ramp and some steps. The gents has a loo, a shower a urinal and a basin; the ladies has two loos and a shower. They were adequate for the site, and clean, but would not be suitable for anyone who was mobility impaired. There are no washing up facilities.
The site is very quiet, although there is the distant background hum from the Calderdale Way road, but this didn't pose any nuisance.
There are no play facilities for children.
Elland town centre presents a very run down aspect, although you can get most forms of fast food there. The Co-op has limited choice and is pricey. However turn left at the end of the road towards Brighouse, and you have the contrast of a busy town centre - with both Sainsburys and a large 24/7 Tesco. We had breakfast at the latter - 2 full breakfasts, toast and tea - for a fiver! Great!
The M62 is less than a mile from Tesco, so very easy for access. The A629, Calderdale Way will get you to Bronte country in half an hour. Summer Wine country is just a little further in the opposite direction. The nearest railway access is at Brighouse, but not overly convenient.
As I said at the start - don't go - I want to be able to get in again. It's the ideal location for a relaxing few days, yet close to all amenities and superb walking country - and at £9.50 a night all in - we're definitely coming back.

We've visited this site on plenty of occasions, and I have to say its a wonderful getaway site.
The warden Alan, always makes us feel welcome, and comes to see us to see if everything is ok.
The facilities although a little basic certainly do the trick, and at £9.50 per night with ehu, we can't complain.
You are only a few miles from Halifax town centre, and only just over a mile from the M62, there's a couple of pubs within walking distance, and its great that you can go on a bike ride right into Brighouse on the canal side.
If you're looking for a quiet little site just to relax but yet be within a few minuets away from everything this is for you.
Just to point out though there are no pets allowed on site.

We stayed here for two nights whilst attending a Country & Western Club in Elland. We found the warden to be extremely helpful and the site clean and tidy as were the toilets. A couple of the tourers were being used as Statics but there were adequate pitches available. We didn't visit anywhere so cant comment. But we will stay here again next time we visit the Truckin Country Music Club and stay longer so we can check out the area.

We visited Diggerland (brilliant!) at Castleford on the only fine weekend in September, and made a weekend of it by booking the Saturday night at Elland Hall Farm.
We found it a very peaceful, tidy campsite, with just 11 pitches, all grass. The owners and warden were very friendly and accommodating. A decent size pitch with electric hook-up for £8 a night was an absolute bargain. Loos and showers were clean and free of charge.
On the Sunday we visited Eureka!- a science museum for kids, which turned out to be only ten minutes up the road in Halifax- just follow the brown tourist signs. As it wasn't busy we were allowed to leave the caravan and collect it from the site later on- a real bonus for which no charge was made.
Although we didn't need to shop during our short stay, we spotted a big Tesco at Brighouse on our way to the M62 Eastbound, and chippies, McDonalds etc on the way into Halifax. We didn't explore Elland itself, but saw pubs and a busy canal on our way through.
If you don't need on-site pubs, cafes and swimming pools, Elland Hall makes a great base to explore from, and is roomy enough for the kids to play games on the field before cake and custard time!
All in all a big thumbs-up! We hope to return again soon, perhaps visiting the Royal Armouries at Leeds.

We just came back from here, it was a lovely site small but very nice, the people their were nice, the toilets and washing room are very clean and tidy the shower was hot and plenty of hot water for washing. The toilets are down a hill and as a hand rail all the way down, their is not lights going down to toilets, so you will need a torch, their is a clean water tap on the camp area.
Their is a couple of shops about 5 minutes walk from camp, their was some pubs, as I do not go out drinking I can not say how they are, their is a Tesco’s in Brighouse about 5 minutes in the car.
We thought this was a lovely site and would go back again.

Well where should I begin, this site is very small with only enough room for 11 pitches the toilets are in a portacabin which are well maintained. The shower are hot and are free there is only two toilets in the ladys and only one in the mens so be prepared to wait at times. From the field there is a small path leading to the toilets which is very dark during the night so take a torch-lamp with you. The owner is very friendly and keeps the site well groomed and tidy, this site requires a pass to get through the barrier which will cost you £10 pounds when you arrive and you will get this back when you leave. You will be very surprised how quiet this site is due to being right next to the main elland bypass. We will be back soon.

Just returned from this site today. Very local to us and the perfect venue to have a practice run with our new trailer tent. Small site with no real facilities but very pretty and well maintained. Nothing for children to do whatsoever, there is no room at all for ball games or exploring, there is also no playarea. This is really an adult site for people who just want peace and quiet. The warden is really friendly and helpful. The prices are very cheap, we have two children and a hookup and it was only £11 a night! Toilets are in a portacabin hidden from view and although basic did appear clean. There is only one shower. There is a chemical toilet disposal as well. One thing that bothered us was there was no place to wash up. This is ok for caravans I guess but for tents it is a bit of a problem, however we managed.
All in all this site is lovely, peaceful and quiet and if that is what you want for a break then you would be hard pressed to beat it. If you have children however and your camping unit is not very well equiped then you may struggle. We will return but not with the kids.

An immaculate, small and quiet site with a very helpful warden. The toilet and shower facilities in a Portacabin were basic but quite adequate and cleaned regularly. Great value for money at £7.50 per night for two adults and one child! Wouldn't suit boisterous children though, limited space meant nowhere to really play ball games without bothering the other campers! Good geographical position for visiting attractions such as Haworth, Hebden Bridge, Holmfirth, Halifax etc. The site itself was right on the outskirts of the town but the distant buzz of road noise (probably from the M62) was a constant factor and quite bizarre when you are surrounded by fields, maybe caravanners wouldn't notice this so much.

Stayed here 7 days around Xmas visiting daughter living in the area. A pretty little campsite with nice, welcoming warden. Simple but clean toilets and hot showers, good priced. Due to rain place can be a little muddy in wintertime. Very secluded with nice views and convenient to visit Leeds-Manchester area. Pub nearby and Elland town just 10 min walk away. We´ll come back some day. Lisbeth & Boo Johansson Gothenburg, Sweden
