Very basic site with only one toilet block consisting of two showers and four toilets which is not really adequate for a site this size. They were clean though. No hard standing for touring caravans either. Friendly people run the site but really need to improve as they were meant to send me a confirmation e-mail of my booking but didn't bother so I had to check myself. The also don't have a chip and pin facility so you have to pay by cash on arrival. The place where you clean your toilet units out is awful and needs to be improved. Great pub called the Guy Fawkes Inn about a mile up the road - fabulous food at reasonable prices but you do need to book as they are full every night.

We have just spent 4 nights here, the site was well kept and very clean, a lot of statics and seasonal pitches but we didn't feel out of place. The toilet and shower facilities are spotless though can be a bit cold getting showered as no heating in the block.
Really good sized pitches and a good dog walk area too.
Our children loved the play area, would definitely return here.

This is a lovely site which offers full amenities. There are lots of static vans but they are well laid out and the site is not overcrowded. Its important not to set up next to campers with dogs because there is a tendency for them to bark throughout the day. Lots of campers like to take their pets away with them and you expect some noise but when barking goes on and on for hours it aggravates. I would suggest the site stipulates owners respect other users and not to leave their pets on site whilst the owners go off site. Its a good place to explore this lovely part of England. I would recommend this site and I will return.

Visited King Fisher for 3 nights at the beginning of August, travelling with friends, we got allocated pitches next to each other even though we were in a motorhome and our friends in a tent. This is unusual but an added bonus as it saves running between fields to get chairs, plates, wine etc.
Our pitches were very spacious and we had no one in front of us which gave us great views over the lake. The dog walk is fantastic and gave us shelter from the sun as it was a very hot weekend.
The site showers are basic to look at but very clean and the shower was hot and powerful which I can say is not always the case from some of the 5 star sites I have visited in the past.
George the site manager very helpful and made our weekend very relaxing.
Location is great with so many local attractions to visit, a very beautiful part of world, would return to King Fisher again. Thank you for a great stay

We have just returned after a lovely weekend on this lovely peaceful site. The site is well cared for with spacious pitches, although a little uneven in places. The owners were very friendly on arrival but didn't see them again, just left us to get on with things. The toilet/shower facilities are kept clean, four toilets and two showers, no charge for showers. Hairdryer in ladies block 20p, although I couldn't get it to work. We had a taxi into knaresborough for a night out on saturday, £5. 00 each way, we thought very reasonable, We will certainly visit this site again, already recommended it.

Having gone through the electrically operated barrier, there are no signs on entering this site that tell you that there is a pull in for all new arrivals. As such we were held in a queue of vehicles waiting to get into the site, the driveway being blocked by a motor-home, the driver of which was as perplexed as the rest of us wondering just where the pull in was!
Having found reception, we were allowed to set uo more ior less where we wanted to.
We decided to stay down by the entrance to the lake.
On the plus side:
The ground is very level and the lake and the walk around it are well maintained. There is plenty of space between all of the vans.
Negative:
The road around the site is simply rough hardcore and full of potholes that constantly filled with rainwater. A word of warning though, be careful pulling water hogs and waste containers over the road. They could be easy to damage on this road surface.
There are no facilities for waste recycling, all rubbish goes into a big skip, paper, bottles, the lot.
The toilet and shower facilities are cleaned regularly and showers are hot, but we found them to be poor, being only 2 showers and toilets in the gents and similar for the ladies. As the campsite filled up over the weekend they were totally inadequate.
Hook up points are fixed to angle irons planted into the soil. Many of these were loose and appeared to be falling over.
In summary:
This site could be much better than it is with a little effort and some money spent on it. Unfortunately the surroundings are dull and unattractive, not a bloom in sight except for the statics. The roadway needs repair. The facilities are poor. Oh and you will have to like dogs. A lot of dogs.
Would we go back again? Not if there was an alternative, unless of course more money is spent to improve the site for the tourers. At the moment it's in favour of the statics.

Busy active site with Fishing and play park. Good location for Knaresborough and Harrogate.
Toilet block far too small for size of park. Toilets were basic port a cabin and not suitable for site of this size. Lots statics and seasonal pitches so Tourers feel second class in pitch location and space. We stayed over Easter and felt like we were fighting for space. In the end we left after 2 nights of 4 night stay.

We visited this lovely pleasant site at the end of last Summer for a week & had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. It is a perfect site for families with pitches that are level and well spaced out with electric hook ups available.
There is a play area for the children which was in good view of our pitch. The toilets and showers were very clean and close to camping and touring areas. Washing up facilities available and a nice small reception shop on site for essentials. The site benefits from a beautiful trail down to some ponds which was ideal for walking the dog. There is also casual day fishing available at a small and reasonable cost which was great for my husband and son.
We had some lovely days out visiting the local towns of Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon (a short drive away) and went to Lightwater Valley, Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey.
The site was clean and tidy with the grass well cut. The local pub (a 15-20 minute walk away) was being refurbished at the time of our stay however we believe it has now reopened. We will definitely visit again - what a pleasurable stay!

Very basic, but excellent campsite. Large tent field to pitch where you like. Excellent for our large tent. Nice play area for children. Toilet and shower block kept nice and clean and lovely hot water. Lovely pond to walk to. Local pub nice, but very pricey. Local bus service to Knaresborough. Knaresborough is a lovely place and the pitch and put is a must - cheap and good fun. Have visited this site more than once.

I took three friends for Friday and Saturday night, we camp a lot and we really liked the site. We had ample space, and the owners seemed very relaxed and left us to it.
The toilet and shower set up was nice and generally very clean, very powerful hot shower. I would say that they needed cleaning more throughout the day as grass and mud collect so quickly, but it was very satisfactory.
The pub was a 20 minute walk past lovely fields and villages, it wasn't too far for us. It is a beautiful area and we spent our time between Knaresborough (10 min drive) and Harrogate (20 min drive).
The office opening times meant it was tricky to catch anyone sometimes, so we couldn't say goodbye and thank you. We would definitely recommend this site and go there again.
