Booked this site as it was close to Ripley Castle where we had concert tickets to see Jools Holland. Met by friendly helpful people.
Site was a mixture of static, touring and tents.
Pitches had plenty of room and cheap compared to other close by sites.
Toilets were clean and shower was excellent but this site really needs more showers and toilets. I noticed near the lake building work to prepare hard standing pitches around the lake.
This has the makings of a 5 star site if more showers, toilets and washing up area were available.

Lovely park, very well kept, large tent field very big and well presented whole site. Although there are a lot of static caravans.
New children's play area just this year in tent field and it has room enough for it so you can send the little ones to play and they are still in the field in sight, great for a little independence.
Toilet/showers are adequate for the price, seen better but definitely seen worse.
Helpful staff, always seem to have a space when we ring yet never seems full. Basic shop on site.
Enough close by for a few nights away but not really enough in area for longer.

We visited this site after reading the reviews to try out our new tent and also to visit nearby fountains abbey. We booked for two nights fri and sat. It was a nice flat site and the toilet block and showers were clean and tidy. However we spent the most horrendous night noise wise we have ever experienced. One group of young adults were singing very loudly till midnight and the other side of us were 4 families camped in a square all chattering and singing till at least one o clock.

We stayed for 2 nights mid week. The site was clean and tidy and owner was friendly. The shower and toilet rooms were clean and showers were free, water was comfortably warm.
The local pub is only a mile away, which is a pleasant walk along a paved pathway. The sink water was not hot enough to wash away the butter off a plate.
We would have had a pleasant time if the nights were not disturbed by the extremely loud noises coming from a neighbouring business. Trucks arriving at 4-5 am and reviving their engines, the general clattering of metal and talking and at one point whistling.

Last minute we decided to go camping and picked this site due to it's proximity to Knaresborough. The site is predominantly statics and tourers and is 2 miles North West of Knaresborough.
Check-in wasn't exactly a friendly experience with no welcome, explanation as to the facilities.
There is a small tent field situated to the rear of the toilet/wash area which isn't very big but reasonably flat.
The toilet/wash area is not well maintained (no soap etc) and very small and not suitable for the amount of campers.
This is one of those sites that advertises tents welcome but it is clearly geared up for caravans and statics who do not require the basics.
Lovely setting but a soul-less, very average tent camping experience.

What a little gem of a site. First the down points, the loo's and showers are a little inadequate for the possible numbers of tourers using the site. Also it's a car ride from the nearest pub, The Guy Fawkes, however when you do get there it's a nice pub.
The good bits, very pretty site with a lovely walk to some small lakes, great for dog owners.
Very clean loo's etc and very friendly owners/wardens. Very close to Harrogate and Knaresborough and if your rich, the General Tarleton gastropub.
We have already booked for Spring Bank as we are going to the Car Rally at Ripley. Oh and by the way spend some time to go to Ripley village and castle. Beautiful

Booked this site as it was listed as 15 pitches for tents / touring caravans / motorhomes,so was suprised when we arrived to find a large static site and also a lot of seasonal caravan pitches. Tents are in a field towards the back of the site but very convenient for toilet / shower block. No marked pitches so it was a bit of a free for all but it's a big field with space for the children to play. Electric hookups are available in the field. There is a play area but only suitable for older children and can't be seen from tent field.
As previous reviews, toilet / shower block was spotlessly clean but not enough facilities for the size of the site (only 2 showers in ladies) but great showers for a campsite.
In a great position for Knaresborough/Harrogate and surrounding areas. Enjoyed our weekend (the great weather helped) and would probably return.

This was our first time out in our new tent. The site was fine and well maintained. The loos and showers were clean although the water was luke warm and having to keep a button pressed to ensure water came out was frustrating. It was a handy base for us as we were going to a concert at nearby Ripley Castle; also handy for visiting Knaresborough and Harrogate. This was a busy weekend with definitely more than 15 pitches; that said we didn't feel cramped.

We have just spent two nights (fri and Sat) at this site. Our two children ages 6 and 2 had a fantastic weekend, the great weather certainly helped! We found the site to be clean and well maintained. The tent field was more the adequate in size for the amount of tents pitched. The toilet block was immaculate, the showers were clean and over the course of a fairly busy weekend for campers we never had to queue once for the showers or toilets. The only downside to the showers was the fact that you had to hold the button down to keep the shower running which was difficult whilst trying to shower the children. The site was quiet on a night which was amazing considering the a amount of children there but there was no noise at all after 10 pm. We liked the way that all the tents were pitched around the edge of the field therefore giving the children the whole middle section for playing games. We did not use the playground as the children had enough space to play in the field. We will def be visiting this site again, probably one of the best sites we have visited!

We visited this site over the weekend, Friday to Sunday. We found the site very pleasant. The toilet block is very clean, three toilets, two showers, there is a hairdryer (20pence charge). However there are no plugs for you own hairdryers / strengtheners.
There is a separate field for tents, which is flat and off a good size.
The nearest pub, The Guy Fawkes Arms, is one mile away, approximately a 15 minute walk. We went there for an evening meal on the Saturday, it is recommended to book in advance, we found the food and service to be of a good standard, around £10 for a main course.
We had a lovely weekend and we will definitely revisit.
