This was our first time camping. This is an excellent camp site! owners are very polite and friendly and very helpful. There are animals for kids to look at! very clean. Suitable for anybody families or single ppl. We are going back soon.
There are showers and toilets which are very clean! local people are very friendly!
Nice pub and walks to take and go.
Big field so kids can play there

Unfortunately for us, the latest reviews here were posted after we visited this camp site. The comments about the birds and the tepid water are totally accurate. I would add that noise from the main line railway continues through the night and there is also road traffic noise.
The canal tow path is lovely though - a great overnight stop perhaps for camping cyclists or fishermen? But with two of the loos in the two shower cubicles and only one other, the wait can be too long, especially for desperate children!
I had booked EHU but was told when we arrived that someone else (even though they didn’t have a hook-up) had taken the spot nearest to the one socket for the camping field, so we were lent an extension lead.

Great campsite apart from the Cockerel's that cock-a-doodle-doo from 4am for 2 hours. If it wasn't for this one fact I would visit again, but they are so noisy!
Toilet block was great apart from the hot water from the taps was only just warm and there was only one sink with a tap big enough to get your washing up bowl under (which means if someone actually washes up in the sink rather than just filling a bowl with water, you can be waiting a long time).
Camping field was bumpy, but easy to camp in flat places in the dips - only really a problem if it rained lots as all the water would run into the dips. Would only revisit if the birds were gone. Cock-a-doodle-doo! Cock-a-doodle-doo! Cock-a-doodle-doo!

I visited this website and obtained details for this location. Reviews suggests this was a good site so I booked up.
The caravan field was expected to be small with only 10 pitches, however there was no room for the Awning due to the electric fence six feet from the caravan. We managed to keep our six year old away from it.
We seemed to be under a watchful eye all the time. I accidentally left the outside light on over the first night. This was brought to my attention as having kept the owner awake. Still can't work that one out given the distance to the house and the tree in the way.
No disposal point, tip it out along the edge of the field.
The toilets (mix sex) were clean but there is no hand drying facilities and the sink is the same one for the washing up.
The canal is right next to the site and I'm sure a lovely walk. Sadly the weather turned just as we were preparing to set off so we never saw that side of it.

My wife, 2 kids and I spent a bank holiday weekend night at the camp site. Lovely weather and the camp site had space - unlike other camp sites in the region. So can't complain.
However I would note that we were charged £32 - £8 per person including the kids! Ouch!
Also, no hot water in the evening, so had to endure a cold shower. Urggghhh. Not great for £32 to say the least by normal standards - but at least we did get away with the kids when we thought we were scuppered by full camp sites.

We were part of a small rally which stayed at the site over Easter.
I can quite easily say, that everyone that attended, were extremely pleased with the site and facilities, plus the fact the site is in the process of being levelled out.
Mr Wiggins was a friendly character, who was like minded in keeping to set rules etc.
I can easily say, we would like to return, the site is very clean, the loo's and showers were excellent and the price we consider as reasonable. (I have paid a lot more for less elsewhere)
OK! so we named the cockerels Paxo, Roasty etc, but after all, we were in the country and 3.30am is the time they rise.

This was my second camping trip with my children aged 3 and 4.
The site is split in two, with caravan separate from the tents.
The tent area appears pretty uneven with the best spots already taken. I was lucky to have asked for electric so got one of the better areas nearer the toilet block.
Upon arrival I was given a guided tour of the facilities and a handy little written guide sheet.
The children loved the horses and cows in the adjoining fields and the odd tractor that rumbled past.
The toilets and showers were spot on as was the washing up facilities. No problems at all.
There were some great walks near the local canal and the nearby towns offered some great food if needed.
Electric hook-ups were limited on the tent side so it's worth checking in advance.
My only complaint was the 4am wake up call by the resident cockerel!
I would happily recommend this site and plan to return in the future.

Nice site but expensive for what it is, we were put in the Tent field, next to some lads, although they were fairly quiet. It seemed there were longer term caravans in the separate caravan field. Good toilet & showers,
The pub in the village does great food. Nice canal walks. MK very near. Would recommend the separate caravan field for non tent users as there are some deep furrows in this field. (this of course may be different now !) would probably not return, as there are more places to explore.

Used this site 1 night on the way to lincolnshire. Found site to be generous in its facilities, ( Free new toilet block now up and running )quiet and the walk alongside canal to be rewarding. It was much appreciated when owner agreed to let us stay on what is now not a Caravan Club CL site. We understand it is now a licenced site with possibly more than 7 pitches.
We were slightly taken back when we were charged £15 for the night on what we thought was a £9 per night CL site. Since returning home we have searched for this site, and it has been confirmed by UK campsite.Co uk re-iterating fee's of £9 per night.

Just come back from a weeks camping trip to old dairy farm with some Friends, its the second time we've been and we'll definitely be returning again next year! The owners are very nice people and the new toilet block has just been opened, and is a great improvement to before!
Its true that besides walks by the canal there isn't much to do locally but at the same time its only a 20 minute walk to the local indoor swimming pool and shops and a bus journey away is the 2nd biggest shopping centre in Europe so you wont be bored. And if you want to cheat and not cook for yourself the red lion pub (25mins walk away) does very good Sunday lunch, despite what this site says there is no restaurant on site!
