We have been using this site for the last four years, and although the field is not very level (the centre is waterlogged after a good downpour!) the facilities are good. Bookings are not taken for camping, so it is "pitch where you like" £20.00 High/ £17.50 Mid season, with or without electric hook - up. The main problem with the people who own the site is that they seem to like to dictate what days you can camp over bank holidays. We went on the Wednesday before the August Bank Holiday and wanted to stay until Sunday, we were told we either had to stay till the Monday or find another site as it would mean turning another camper away on Friday. In other words, they were prepared to turn away £80.00(4 nights) for a weekend camper who would have been paying £60.00! As this site does not let you book, I don't understand their logic. We will not be going back there.

What a wonderful weekend, what a wonderful site. Have just returned and can honestly say we all loved this site. There were 3 adults all in their 30's and 7 children aged between 4yrs and 14yrs and everyone had a great time. The park and the beach (which is at the end of the camping field) were fantastic, clean and well maintained. Didn't use the pool as it was quite expensive and no bigger than a large bath, but with the fab weather and the sea closer than the pool we didn't need it. The arcades were good and not too expensive, the pub was excellent and the staff were amazing. Really friendly and helpful! The toilets were a little smelly and my husband who is a body builder 6ft 2 and 20 stone struggled to fit in the showers but the rest of us managed fine! The shop is really well stocked, if a little expensive for some things, but you expect that. The road leading up to the site was difficult but it was bank holiday weekend and there are lots of sites all along this narrow road, but with the train station also on this road and Barmouth a half hour walk along the beach do you really need to drive. Virgin mobiles do not work this far out but if the idea of camping is to relax, enjoy and kick back this is a wonderful site for all!

March 2005 Following a delightful stay at this caravan park last summer I decided to book my family in for another visit on 17/03/05 for 3 days. I made the booking over the telephone and was surprised that the rate was the same as in high season especially when I was informed that the swimming pool was out of use, however I still made the booking as my family had such a pleasant stay last time and I was assured that everything elses would be up & running as the season would have started. On our arrival we were very pleased with the new pitches although we were unable to connect to the electricity as when my partner went to ask where our plot was she was not given the key and by the time we had realised one was needed the staff had gone to lunch, this did not put us off however & we were still very much looking forward to our stay, and the children went for a play on the park whilst we set up our awning. That evening we used the neighbouring club & arcade as Henry’s bar was closed we assumed this was perhaps because Henry's only opened at the weekends. On Friday morning we went to do our washing up to discover that the door was locked, my partner went to find out why and was told that it would be ready to use after lunch as the boiler would have to be turned on (as if we were inconveniencing them). Again on Friday evening we had to use the facilities of a neighbouring site. On Saturday morning the children went off to play on the park to find that the gates were locked, when my partner went to enquire why, she was told that there was a ditch in the park & it was unsafe for the children to play on (This is a fair enough comment but it would have nice to have known this before booking), my partner also asked if Henry’s would be open during our stay only to be told that it would not & that it was nothing to do with the site anyway!, if this is the case then surely it should not be advertised in the brochure or on their website. Overall our visit left a "very sour taste in the mouth" and we will certainly not be returning.

2nd-5th Aug 04 I can only say iwas a little worried as to what camping was gonna be like and if I say myselfI can be hard to please, I was amazed at this site it was so clean and tidy, hot showers, cheap but excellent laundry, amusements, hot bread every morning from onsite shop, bingo, chippy. I had a range of different age children with me from 6yrs to 20yrs and each of them didn't want to leave.
The beach was stunning we even walked the 3.5 miles into Barmouth, the scenery was breathtaking!
As many will know we didnt have the best few days for weather but hey nothing at all could have dampened our spirits, 100%for this site.

August 2004 This is my second visit to this site, the beach is still beutifull, the camp staff did deal with noisy campers this visit by removing them, but if you want peace and tranquility then this isn't the site for you! But I still love this site because of its location. (even if the toilets still smell). This is a great campsite if have 2 boistrous kids like me.

July 2004 First appearences were great, very clean and the staff were very nice and welcoming, although we did think that £17.50 per night was a bit steep (only 2 of us). We had no electricity hook up, but its a fixed price for all. Camp site was signposted for families and couples only and to say we were pitched on the beach was an understatement. 1 minute walk...... literally to a beautiful beach. Showers and toilets were cleaned twice a day, although they could do with being updated, spider webs above the doors and they did tend to pong a bit.
There is a great clubhouse on site and a superb takeaway, that did a great steak sandwich. An amusement arcade is there for the kids along with nightly bingo sessions.
Very quiet at night, we would return though and really enjoyed our stay

may 2004 I loved it........lovely clean site right on the beach with lots of flat ground to pitch your tent... This site will accept tents of any size with no additional charges, the one off charge includes 5 people!!! I thought this was great. You could even bring your gazebo. We also had a campfire in our high level bbq, they dont allow campfires on the ground though. But the best thing about this site is they leave you alone, no hassle and you can leave when your ready on the day of departure.
Brill site, gorgeous at the beach on sunny days. Mary.

May 2004 Brilliant, clean, well kept site with friendly helpful people. Camping field flat in the middle with slight inclines at the back and front (facing the sea) which was not a problem for most (just make a point of checking which way you sleep). There are a few Hook-up points (with no extra charge) but it's first come first serve and campers do not have to book, so for those campers who need to take all mod con's with them be prepared to rough it. The site is so close to the easily accessable clean beach that you can through a stone into the sea. The shop is well stocked with an in-store bakery (yum yum). The shower/toilet blocks are lovely and clean and close to the camping field as are the washing up facilities and chemical loo disposable units. They have a swimming pool but it's not very big so when it's busy you have to arrange a time to go in as it only holds 32 (I presume it's purely for safety reasons) and there is a extra cost £2.50 adults, £1.50 children, FOC under 5's. There is a kiddies play area right next to the pool also amusements and take-away food bar. Cost for camping and motorhomes (up to 5) is £17.50 per night, high season and tourers £22.00 per night, high season they also have static caravans for hire which look top quality. They have security patrols over the main holiday period, which gives you peace of mind. All in all a quality holiday.

June 2003 Good site with lots of flat ground close to the beach, which could be reached in minutes and which you could walk, tide permitting, all the way to Barmouth. Nice swimming pool which you have to pay a very small cost toward, arcades for the teenagers, good shop... Minus points are: very narrow entrance road over railway bridge (single lane only) Handy for all local beauty spots...

August 2002 A nice clean level site with good facilities, I've visited quieter & cheaper sites in the past but I have never visited a site in a better location, it is right next to the most beutifull beach I have ever seen. To sit on the beach watching the sunset is a memory to treasure. We have decided to visit again this year (2004), see ya there !
