Only returned from a short break to Manzac Ferme yesterday, and are so impressed with our visit that we felt that a review is essential.
Our visit was out of the ordinary. In so much as my wife and I were visiting friends staying in a caravan on the site, but we stayed in the Bed and Breakfast also provided by the owners, located in the main house on the site.
The room was out of this world, very large bedroom, decorated with exquisite taste in the French style, plenty of natural light, comfortable with large (also Very comfortable)double bed, the room has beautiful views over the campsite and local forests.
The ensuite is very French, and very large, including a free standing roll top bath facilitating a view of the stars through a well placed Velux roof window.
Breakfast is a very relaxed affaire and at a reasonable hour, with everything you could wish for, and again in beautiful surroundings, overlooking the front gardens which are a credit to the owners
Our hosts Sandra and John where welcoming, helpful and a mine of information about everything from weather forecasts through to market days.
The site facilities are the best we have ever encountered (from our former days as campers) the site is well laid out, clean and quiet.
We had a wonderful break and will definitely returning for a much longer holiday in the future. It is very rare that you can find such a gem of a campsite, with such excellent value; we have no hesitation in highly recommending Manzac Ferme for camping and B&B.

Made our second visit this year. Sandra and John are very helpful owners who readily give tons of local information for visits, restaurants, shopping, markets and vet.
Beautifully maintained grounds and facilities, we could find nothing lacking. 6amp electricity (rev.Polarity - but adaptors on site)Peaceful, quiet, yet friendly site, mainly UK visitors. Dogs by arrangement - but ideal with many local walks and dog friendly owners. Thoroughly recommended on all aspects!

This is a lovely CL-type adults-only site in the Perigord National Parc. The site is quite picturesque – it has a tall conifer hedge on one boundary separating it from the (minor) road, and a small river forms another boundary. There are a number of trees on the site which provide some welcome relief from the sun, and there is also a heavily wooded area where you can walk your dog.
The site has about 5 large, level, well-maintained hard-standings. There are 2 toilets and 2 showers. These are modern and kept spotlessly clean. In cooler weather they are also heated! There is a washing machine available at additional cost and you can borrow a washing line, if you wish. There is a library where you can swap books and a number of magazines which can be borrowed.
You are provided with a very good welcome sheet, suggesting places and restaurants to visit and so on. Additionally, there are plenty of tourist information leaflets to browse. There are a set of laminated walking maps for sign-posted walks around local villages. We used these every day, and really enjoyed the walks.
Additionally, as elsewhere in France, there are footpaths and tracks everywhere that can be explored. We use the Serie Blue Carte de Randonee maps (available in the UK from Elstead Maps, who offer an excellent service) – numbers 1932 O and 1832 E cover the area of the site. The scenery in this area is lovely. It’s very rural, with rolling hills and lots of woods and lakes, so ideal for exploring on foot.
The site is about 4km from Abjat, where there is an excellent boulangerie and boucherie. If you’re interested in buying a home in the area, then a visit to the Hostellerie Berthet on a Friday evening is worthwhile as it’s used by the ex-pat community, who are happy to provide advice. You can also get a fish and chip supper!
A visit to the market at Piegut-Pluvier on a Wednesday is recommended, though it’s a pleasant place to visit any day of the week.
We, and our dogs, given a very warm welcome by Sandra and John, and they made a point of spending a few minutes with us each day, which is most pleasant.
We stayed a week and wished it could have been longer. Recommended unreservedly, if you’re looking for a good touring base and enjoy comfort combined with peace and quiet.

Fantastic Site! Met by Sandra & John with a welcoming cup of tea after a long drive-even offered help un-pack our car! facilities excellent, certainly been spoilt by this small, quiet site,we stayed in the garden area which takes only 1 tent by a small river. This was the first time for us in this area, after over 20 years of camping in France, such a beautiful place. Sandra & John asked on a daily basis if everything ok, without being intrusive & they arranged for us & all other campers + themselves for a dinner at a nearby restaurant which made it extra special. Stayed only 10 days, but wished we could have been there longer.

Not to sure of the exact date but it was with the previous owners of this site.
Cosy adult only site with hard standing pitches. Unfortunately the surrounding trees removes any chance of a view and there is a lot of road noise from our French friends commuting to work and back ( not mentioned in any adverts etc ).
However that said our hosts were charming and helpful and the surrounding area had lots to offer.

A peaceful and tranquil site. Excellent hardstandings, helpful owners, facilities of good standard. The hot water is hot, showers excellent.
No dedicated place for dropping motorhome grey water, (which can be overcome), but there is a lake leisure area nearby, with parking and a motorhome service area, where grey water can be dropped.

What a brilliant site! Last year was our first visit to France towing a large caravan but any concerns were soon diminished. We had such a wonderful time at Manzac Ferme we booked for 3 weeks again this year, and it was as good as ever with added shading, bigger pitches and more room to manoeuver in and out of the site. All arrivals are met with a very warm welcome from Sandra and John - nothing is too much trouble for them and they make a point of chatting to you each day to ensure everything is well.
It is a small, quiet and immaculate site for adults only, and it is an excellent base for exploring this idyllic area or to just 'stay put' and chill out.
The toilets and showers are extremely clean and there is even use of an automatic washing machine! We have been spoilt by this site - nothing can match up to it; everything is first class.

We visited this lovely site for a few nights in July. At the time all pitches were taken and our fellow campers were all British, some told us that they had visited before. The site is part sloping but the pitches have been tiered so are quite level. The toilet facilities are immaculate and everything has been supplied (loo rolls, hand soap etc.) The British owners have only just taken over and could not be more friendly and helpful. Supermarkets are not too far away and there is lots to see and do in this beautiful part of France. The site is adult only, tranquil, well kept and open all year. The only downside is the tight entrance for very large units, but we think it is only a matter of time before this is corrected.
