Just spent 3 nights at this campsite & despite being a camping noob, we found it a very nice site with good basic facilities.
2 Showers, costing 50p for a good 15 mins, all toilets were clean, good washing up facilities with plenty of hot water.
There are 2 fields one by the road and one behind a tree line, I would recommend you pitch your tent in the furthest field away from the road as the car noise can be annoying.
All in all a great site for our first family camping trip, I think we will be going back.

On arrival very difficult to find someone, eventually raised someone from the area where cream teas are served, she found our booking and then took us to the field and more or less said set up where you like, was difficult to see where the pitches were positioned.
Field we were in was very pretty with the river running nearby, there was another field closer to the road and the road is very busy and noisy.
The toilets were unisex that opened directly out onto the yard and not very clean. The showers are in a stable block with cobbles on the floor and cost 50p, not suitable to try and shower young children as very slippery.
Field very wet when it rained, drainage poor.
Children could paddle in the river by the field quite safely.
We stayed at this site to visit Longleat which was very close by and a lovely Sainsburys down the road in Bradford on Avon. We also stayed here for the river swimming club but was not very inviting as very muddy the day we walked down due to the rain so we gave it a miss.
As we spent most of our time at Longleat was ok but we did leave a day early. Would not return.

The owner was very accomodating, allowing our party to stay for just one night enabling us to visit Longleat for the whole weekend. The site is beautiful and extremely picturesque with a lovely steam and weir, and picture postcard buildings. Facilities were delightfully basic but adequate and clean. The setting was very peaceful and there was lots of space for the children to play, including a WWII bunker which providing much entertainment for them. The wildlife was spectacular too, with a housemartin's nest complete with babies. There was the added bonus of the catering van, providing almost instant food / drinks for the weary tourist, and he was very pleasant too. Will definitely be returning AND recommending to friends too. 10 out of 10.

This is a great site for everyone who likes back to basics camping. There is a converted stables with 2 showers (50p), 3 wash sinks and 2 washing up sinks; 3 toilets that were basic but clean and cobweb free-ish, and a recycling and waste point. The fields are flat, the back field is on the river and fairly sheltered with hardly any road noise, the front field is less sheltered and fully visible from the A366-still nice but not quite so idyllic! The manor house and mill are beautiful and the owners seemed lovely, the cream teas were very tasty too, served daily from 3-6pm. Dogs are allowed on leads.
Our children thoroughly enjoyed messing about on the (shallow) river, and had a ball at the Farleigh River Swimming Club 3 fields up where the river gets quite deep. The Hungerford Arms offered superb views and a really warm welcome and was only 20 mins slow walk away.
There is absolutely loads to do in the area and we could have spent aweek here easily. We loved it here and will definitely be returning, a quick weekend just wasn't enough!

Just spent the weekend here - the first truly glorious weekend all Summer. A lovely site - the surrounding buildings are truly beautiful - the field for camping on was a little worn, but then this was the end of the Summer, with no little alcoves to tuck yourself away, so not the nicest field I have ever camped on. The washrooms were lovely, but unisex! The toilets were set away on the other side of the courtyard.
There is a WW2 bunker in the field which my son was very impressed by, and only 2 fields away is the swimming on the river - be warned though the waters cold - but a lovely picturesque location.
There are no local shops within walking distance- Bradford on Avon is about a 5 minute drive away.
The cream teas were lovely, we sat in the garden of the Manor in the glorious sunshine - £4.00 - Pot of tea and 2 large scones with jam and cream.
The only downside and it was a pretty major downside - there was motor cross biking in the field behind us ALL Saturday afternoon - the noise, the fumes, totally ruined it for us - there must have been over 100 bikes - spoilt what was potentially a lovely relaxed weekend away. We weren't warned about this prior to booking - so make sure its not happening the times you choose to go.

Have just returned from this lovely site after attending the Annual Trowbridge Village Pump festival and had a great time. The usual fields used as a campsite were used as the areas for the main stages and the food and goods stalls, The camping fields were one of the best I've ever seen at a festival, you camp alongside your car making life easier, all the fields were free draining as they were on quite a slope! we arrived early and chose a pitch at the top of the hill, good job as it rained very hard, but even so the ground was only churned up on the road ways, not the pitches. There were taps for cold water and plenty of portaloos, flood lighting is provided at night. The river was indeed beatiful. The views were fantastic across the valley, could even see the white chalk horse. Trowbrigde town just a short drive away with an asda. A great festival site, I hope to return to this site and see it at a quieter time too.

We have just returned from a smashing weekend at this stunning site. I must say , this has to be one of the prettiest sites we have been to , and we will definitely return. The facilities are basic, 2 toilets and one shower , which cost 50p a go , a little pricey I thought , although being in a caravan , we didnt need to use the shower. If you are going in a tent , there is no washing up area , so take a bowl with you! Also , I must mention that the disposal point left alot to be desired , and if the management were thinking of making improvements , I would suggest this is near top of the list! There are 2 fields to camp in ,we had ehu in ours , not sure about the other field. we were in the back field , the grass was in top condition , and the back field is completely surrounded by the River Frome , this is quite shallow , and we all went swimming.Saw lots of fish too , so also a good site to while away the hours with rod and reel. The main house on site does cream teas , although regrettably I didnt get the chance to sample them , but I will next time, however they seemed to have lots of people going in and out of the tearoom , so presumably they are as delicious as they sound! Trowbridge is just a few miles down the road , with major shops like Asda etc , and even a found a curryhouse that delivered our curry to us on the camping field! All in all Myself , hubby and the kids all really enjoyed our stay , and all cant wait to return !

This really is a beautiful site, from the house and mill as you drive in, to the river laden with fish and even Kingfishers (I saw 3) The site has two fields, both flat with a pitch where you like attitude. Very basic toilets (2) and only one shower which I could see as a problem if the site was full. The house offers cream teas which unfortunately we didn't have time to try. There is plenty to do in the area, Bath and Trowbridge close by, also Farleigh Hungerford castle a short walk from the site. There is a dog walking field opposite the site with views of the surrounding area. A beautiful tranquil site, definitely one I will be returning to.

Spent the weekend at this beautiful site, what a lovely place it is. Great drainage to the field.(although it didnt rain)
The river was great for everyone to have a little splash around in.
Although 'basic' with only 2 shared toilets and 1 shared shower room, these were cleaned daily and kept to a good standard. ( there was always loo roll).
The area is spot on and you will have a lovely time staying here.
Ohhh and if you like cream tea's the cafe on site serves them daily. 9/10

This is a very quaint little site in a picturesque setting easily accessible from the A36 near Bath and only two miles from the county town of Trowbridge in Wiltshire
We really enjoyed our stay here, the site is well maintained although facilities are limited, two toilets and one shower, it makes up for it by being surrounded by a shallow river, and a sheltered location, a real get away from it all site. We will definitely return here.
