Just returned from our first camping trip as a family from this lovely place. Didn't really know what to expect it being our first trip to a site. But can say I was very surprised at how great the facilities were, the showers were excellent, hot and powerful and very clean as were the rest of the washing facilities, sinks toilets etc. Plenty of room for the kids to play in the middle field area and not need to have to worry as all cars have to go around the outside. My only moan would be the weather it was awful rain and high winds, I found our pitch a bit exposed and trying to put a tent up I would liken to trying to get a hot air balloon to behave in a wind tunnel this is probably due to my inexperience, that and the fact that my helper for the said exercise (the wife) had no interest in helping or any want to be there, her only help was to shout instructions for a tent she had never seen let alone put up before. We went to the local pub for dinner one evening and were told to book as it 'gets busy' I don't know why the food was terrible I could have cooked far better on the camp stove using ingredients foraged from the bushes it was a real let down. Wife had lot's to say about this also. There's a surprise. Will we go again Yes, will the wife No. She says never again, I've asked for it in writing. Fantastic site well worth a visit.

We booked this site to stop over for one night while picking up family. When booking online you get to choose which pitch you have.
All pitches are very spacious with flowers and plants dividing, and solar lights clearly marking them out. Each pitch is clearly named with a small area in the corner for people that haven't booked.
The toilet blocks were superb. The shower cubicles were huge, with large shower area and large changing space, plenty of hooks to hang things on and a chair. Everything was really clean. Showers were free, powerful and hot.
As we were only there for one night, and a couple, there were a lot of things we didnt use. Besides the men's and ladies toilet / shower areas, there was a separate disabled area and a family room.
The washing up area was inside and looked clean &spacious. There was also a washing machine & tumble dryer which took tokens available from the shop.
The shop/reception was well stocked with all the basics and information on local attractions. Ice block freezing was free, but is worth noting that shop / reception is only open 9-10 and 5-6. If like us you arrive out of these hours and forget which pitch you booked, there is a phone in the washing up room that's direct to the farm.
This site has free wifi, but the bottom of the field dips down and we had trouble connecting there.

Wow, this site is exactly as it is described!
The site is down a secluded lane, after you pass the sheep and take the left hand lane to South Breazle, you pop out onto the campsite, peace, mother nature at her best and fun await!
We arrived on a rather average Bank holiday Saturday, and we were greeted at reception by Louise, who was very friendly and pointed us in the direction of all the facilities and our pitch and off we went.
As this was only our second outing with this unit, we struggled to level the camper - but we needn't have worried we went up to the wash facilites and called Steve (There is a direct line to the farm when reception is closed), who within 5 mins was there with Trolley jack and blocks, he helped us site the camper - who could ask for more. Nothing was too much trouble.
We couldn't access the Wi-fi as we were at the bottom of the site in the little dip and once again after asking for help - Steve was there with a booster, helped us install it onto the laptop got us up and working.
This site is a site for everyone young, old, couples or families. All the pitches surround a central field were children could play without interfering with others, but still be within site of each pitch. Small toys, sit in cars, giant snakes and ladders, bats and balls, a childrens play house, and a small goal were all available to pick up and play.
The pitches are of very good size, some have all the extras, power, water, hard standing - the showers and loo's were kept incredibly clean considering the amount of rain and mud everyone created. There was no shortage of hot water, within each shower cubicle there was an area to hang your clothes, a chair to sit on and ample space to shower.
The shop was well stocked with local produce, excellent bacon, sausages, pork chops, burger, and all the things you go away without plus toys were also available very reasonably priced throughout.
The surrounding area, Roadford Lake is a must, whether you are biking or walking, it really was heaven.
We visted Bude for the day at the beach - we would recommend you bypass the first carpark and for the second.
A must if you have children and are experiencing wet days head for Dingles steam village a must do. It is a step back in time.
We have booked for next year we enjoyed it so much. Well done to Lousie and Steve you got it just right! Look forward to seeing you in May 2009!

This is a lovely campsite with plenty of facilities, a shop that was open twice a day, 9-10 am and 5-6 pm. The showers and toilets were cleaned twice a day as well. There is a large area in the middle of the field where children can play, and this area is bounded by the pitches. There are plenty of places for rubbish and points for water as well as fire saftey equipment. An extra for the kids is a fun fountain which was being enjoyed by several children while we were there, despite the rain! There are also three friendly goats who ran up to us as they saw us walking towards them and wanted their head's rubbed.
There are plenty of walks nearby and the pub in the village of Bratton Clovelly is lovely although about three miles from the site, a bit too far to walk to (worth it on a nice day though!).

We stayed at South Breazle during the 'summer' 2007. What we loved initially was that we could choose and book our pitch online! I haven't seen many (if any) campsites that do this facility. Fantastic. This site is well off the beaten track (although well signposted from the road!) with smashing unspoilt views. Pitches are absolutely massive. When we were there some muppet had driven all over our pitch whilst packing up and there was a lot of mud. The site owners kindly lent us some hard plastic mats so we could get in/out of the tent without dragging half the field in with us. The site itself is very clean, the owners very helpful and friendly. The homemade cakes in the shop are to die for! The toilets and showers are huge and were kept immaculate, despite all the mud. There is a huge field in the middle of the site where no one is allowed to camp and we spent many an afternoon playing games and flying our kites. The fun fountain is a real scream. What a brilliant idea.
The nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes away in the car and the beach (Bude) about 30 minutes. Its easy to get into Cornwall from here too and we visited the Eden Project which was under an hour away. All in all an absolute cracker of a site. The Wi-Fi access was easy to connect up to and a password was given to us on our first request. Will definitely visit again, if only to see the deer and red kites on your doorstep. We had a naughty fox come and raid our kitchen one night so beware of the wildlife! We also saw a meteroit shower the skies were so clear one night. Bit freaky but cool! I would recommend this campsite if you want a nice bit of peace and quiet.

Had a wonderful week in July, despite the atrocious English summer(rain followed by rain)
The site is quiet and spacious, plenty of room for the kids to run about without any danger. The fun fountain is brilliant. Top notch facilites and the most space in a shower cubicle that I have ever had.

We stayed here for half term week. There was only one other unit on site whilst we were there so the site was hardly busy. Owner was very friendly, came down to the site whenever we telephoned (on their direct line phone to the farmmhouse)in need of help or for the shop to be opened.
A new site so all the facilities are still in good shape. Showers had plentiful and hot water; which was a bonus on cold mornings. Excellent free wifi facilty; which we made full use of! Given it was Ocotber we didn't make use of the kids fun fountain nor must I say did we feed the goats and llamas!
Site is located in the middle of no where and down a long farm track so very peaceful. Good location for touring West, North and South Devon and East Cornwall.

I stayed here with my two children (9 and 5 yrs) during the August Bank Holiday and despite reservations about the location was charmed by the place. The site is attractive, peaceful, well thought out and particularly well suited to safety conscious parents - the site is a long way from the road. The showers were wonderful, there's a fun fountain which my kids enjoyed and the owners are pleasant and helpful. You do end up with at least a 30 minute drive to tourist attractions and villages (aside from pub two miles away) but worth it for the peace and quiet. Nice to be away from hustle and bustle.

We spent the Easter weekend at this campsite and had a fantastic 4 days. The site is about half an hours drive from Dartmoor and is set in a beautiful location. The pitches were huge (our 12 man dome tent fitted with plenty of room to spare), the site itself has everything we look for, peace, clean good shower facilities, a site shop selling local products & friendly welcoming owners ( who gave every pitch a bundle of Easter eggs on Easter Morning. The site has not been open long and the owners have lots of ideas underway to continue to improve it including a jumping water jet area for children. If you like a small friendly safe site with no noisy club house and beautiful scenery this is definitely worth a visit. We will go back very soon.
