Just back from a weekend at Summerlands. Fantastic site, lovely surroundings and a really well run site. Facilities are spotless if a little limited in number, Don't let that put you off though as any wait was relatively short.
Owners are really helpful and went out of their way to get us a pitch with hook up. There is a small shop in the village nearby and the local pub is great for evening meals and a well deserved drink!
There is a few shops in Salisbury for any camping bits and pieces. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for 5 nights the week before the bank holiday weekend,as it was a quiet week we practically had the.Exceptionally clean and well maintained.
Toilet and shower block to ourselves, but if busy I can appreciate that you might have to wait a bit for a shower as mentioned on other reviews there is only one shower each in male and female units, still it wouldn't make a difference to us staying here, we would just wash in the tent because the stunning views and very peaceful location are worth it.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the walk into the very pretty village, which has a village stores and a pub,is really nice, half track and half a barely used lane, we walked it in 40 mins and had dog off lead for most of it.
A lovely site and good value at £12 a night for the 2 of us and dog,we really enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the future, well recommended.

A very pleasant campsite that we hope to return to.
Toilet block very clean. Despite only having one male and one female shower we only had to wait once in our 5 day stay.
Pitches are all flat with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Owners very friendly and helpful.
You are able to cycle off road/along short section of quiet road to local pub.
Overall, we would very much recommend this site.

We began caravanning in April this year and have used this site three times as it is near to my son's home. We would go there anyway as it has been our favourite. We love it.
Combination of big hedge at your back and stunning rural views stretching away in front is a winner. The facilities are extremely pleasant and very clean and we always use them - unlike some sites where we're happier using our own. You can walk to the pub in Coombe Bissett in three quarters of an hour - our grandchildren 5 and 7 did it - and they are very hospitable there too - to dogs as well.
You can walk for miles away from roads and again of all the sites we've stayed on this year this one had least noise - apart from helicopters but we quite enjoy the novelty of that!
The owners and warden are very nice and as helpful as they could be. Confirm that the Tuesday market in Salisbury is very good - look out for the olives and baklava stall. Our sole reservation is the long bumpy track but we are hopeful the worst bits will get some attention.

We visited this site as a stop-over to the West Country.
What a delightful find!
The owners welcome was very friendly and relaxed.
There would appear to be about, twenty or so, pitches. Electricity is available. The toilet block, (spotless), has showers and dish-washing facilities, water taps and a chemical disposal point, really quite adequate for the site. The area is rural and attractive, lovely views of the countryside and pleasant walks towards the village of Coombe Bissett.
Extremely good value for money.
Will most certainly be returning for a longer stay.

We've just got back from 3 nights at this campsite and it rates as one of the best sites we've ever stayed at. It is situated at the top of a hill, so is surrounded by beautiful rural views on all sides but the site itself is totally flat and stone free. It did get a bit windy but it wasn't a problem. Access to the site is along a long and very bumpy track but at least that means you're a long way from any roads. The pitches are very generous sizes and they take tents, caravans and campervans.
The site was wonderfully quiet while we were there so there was loads of space for the children to play. There was another flat field available for football and noisy games if it was needed but we'd forgotten the football!
The facilities were simple but immaculate for all the time that we were there. The new owners just took over the site this year and so far they are doing a great job. There was lots of useful information in the washrooms and the owners were happy to exchange/refreeze/ hire out ice blocks if needed. At £15 a night for 4 of us it was also pretty good value.
It's a really beautiful area to explore. The local village, Coombe Bissett is very sweet and has a really useful shop (open 7am - 6pm) which also stocks camping gaz. We used the Park and Ride to explore Salisbury which was very easy and Rockbourne Roman Villa was small but fun for the kids. There were loads of footpaths and bridal ways to explore.
I would highly recommend this site for anyone with or without children, wanting to spend some time in this area.

This site is a lovely little gem which we came across just by chance. The owner was absolutely lovely. Nice views across the Wiltshire countryside. Very high quality and homely shower block, although with only one shower per sex I did have to wait for a while.
The site is very well positioned for visiting Salisbury. The Britford Park & Ride is only a few minutes drive away, and costs £2.50 per vehicle for parking and return travel into Salisbury. Tuesday is a good day for visiting Salisbury- market day. Stonehenge is also easily accessible, as is North Dorset. Shaftesbury was a 30-40 minute drive away.

Have been coming to the site for 4 years now. Always very friendly reception and site is always well kept. Great walking area especially if you have a dog you can walk for miles.
Local village shop has good range of goods but a bit pricey but always a friendly reception.
Fox and Goose Pub have actually visited there and the food was good. Very good menu and reasonable priced.

We have been to this site 3 times now, and we enjoy it more and more each time. John and Pam are the nicest couple you'd ever want to meet. We phoned and booked a pitch with electrics along the fence line as you get the sun all day long.
Its a fantastic base for site seeing as your only a few miles from Stonehenge and Old Sarum, and if the sun shines its a short drive to Poole and Weymouth.
Pub in Coombe Bisset can be walked to from site, downhill going! Not sure what its like now but when we last went the smoking ban wasn't inforce, and the locals were not too pleased when we opened a window on a warm day to rid the room of days worth of smoke! Even a member of the bar staff came and told us not to open it again. Mmm!
Lovely peaceful site with plenty space around you to enjoy. Will be returning real soon.

A charming basic site well looked after by two wonderful people who went out of their way to ensure all was well for our stay. Views over the Salisbury plains where fab. The area very central for touring all within 30 miles. Good shopping centre 5 miles away. Will definately return.
