Booked a week at Walnut Lakes, without too much thought, as we were going to see the Tulip Parade at the end of the week. When we arrived we expected to drive on like other camp sites, we had to ring a number to gain entry, which could be a bind if you haven't got a Mobile or sufficient credit to call.
It was a surprise to see such a beautiful camp site, when we drove inside. There is hard standing and you have sufficient room to offer privacy, between each unit. There are three toilet blocks, with showers, very clean and plenty of hot water. There is electrical hook-ups, chemical toilet point, waste water and fresh water points.
There is a special made dog walk, around the outside of the site, but please clean up after your pet.
There are recyling bins for your rubbish.
Tony and Maria work very hard to keep the site such a nice place to spend a holiday at. Peaceful and quiet, and the sunset is spectacular if the weather is good.
It rained for most of the week we were there, but it didn't put us off, and we would definitely go again. An information sheet gives details of restaurants, shopping, Doctor's, Dentists etc. , which is very useful.
The lake is super if you like fishing or watching the antics of the ducks, you might even see a deer, or Mr Fox roaming about. Brilliant site, well done Tony and Maria.

Visited walnut lakes last year and enjoyed our ten days so much we booked in again for nine days this year, and again enjoyed our stay so much we stayed for an extra couple of days, the weather was great, as was the fishing, the carp are really putting on weight. M
Aria and tony are very welcoming, nothing to much trouble, facilities are fine with electricity and water on hand
Good warm toilets and showers,
Access to the site is easy, but the A17 can get busy. The BP garage just down the road sells news papers and limited groceries. Not too far away in sutterton is the thatched restaurant pub where we enjoyed a superb lunch with friends, the beef and ale pie was to die for. My wife and I went again later in the week and enjoyed fantastic fish and chips, at very reasonable prices.

My husband and I went with cousin and wife who were trying out their caravan for the first time, so we occupied 2 pitches.
Site is very well laid out. No-one is on top of each other and their is a tranquillity about the place which surpasses anywhere else.
You are near a very busy main road but after awhile the traffic noise became a distant 'hum' Being only 6 pitches on the section we were staying amenities were ample. All had electric hook-up, 3 small toilet blocks, showers, laundrette and small tourist information area.
Most of us staying this particular weekend did have dogs and we had a large 'exercise' area to walk round.
Anyone interested in fishing were catered for by the lovely well stocked 'lake' and were greeted regularly by the ducks at meal times.
Found a Morrisons about a 10-15 minute drive away.
As this is an Adult only site we didn't have children running around or playing ball games nearby.
All in all would highly recommend and will definitely be returning again next year.

Whilst initially disappointed to have been allocated a pitch on the grassy paddocks after requesting a hard standing one overlooking the fishing lake, we were actually very pleased with with the site.
The pitch was on the new part of the site and was not at all boggy and was very well drained (though Mum was kept busy sweeping grass cuttings off the carpet we'd trailed in on shoes when it rained). We pitched in splendid isolation but still within steps of the facilities. Our pitch was on the far side of the site further away from the road and we didn't find the noise intrusive at all.
The toilet and shower cabin was immaculate and I found that the hot water lasted plenty long enough.Plenty of tourist information available in the cabin too.
Excellent dog walk right round the site.
The location is very convenient for Boston and Spalding and there's a garage with shop and Little Chef just a couple of hundred yards down the road.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

We have recently spent three nights at the site and agree that the lady who runs the site is very friendly and helpful.
The site is very small with only five pitches and the main draw does seem to be the fishing.
I can't agree with the comments about the main road, we did find the noise quite intrusive in our folding camper, although it would be quieter no doubt in a caravan.
As all of our fellow campers were in caravans we had the toilet block to ourselves (which was very clean). The shower is coin operated but not very generous in time allowed, so be quick if you use this!

We arrived and gave a groan when we saw how close the site was to the main A17, but surrounded by one of those grass banks often seen in Lincolnshire it was a hidden treasure.
Yes you can hear noise from the road but we did not find it intrusive at all, more a background hum than anything. This will lessen even more over time as the screen of conifers grows.
What a lovely place, it is exactly as already described except there are now 2 toilet blocks, both with shower. The newer one has an excellent selection of tourist guides and a folder with useful local information (hospital, shops, takeaways etc). It also has a book exchange scheme so that if you borrow a book but don't finish it you are welcome to take it home as long as you put another book in its place. There is a selection of 'garden games' - giant sized Jenga etc.
The owner, Maria, couldn't be more helpful. Talking to her she told us that they managed previous sites before buying the land for Walnut Lake. They put that experience to very good use when creating this site. The dog walk is perfect, there is even an area where we could let our dog chase the ball to get a good run (essential for our GSD!).
The pitches are hard standing and of a good size - more than enough room for car, caravan and awning to all be hard standing. Pitches are well spaced out and there was no problem for us to site our day shelter. The site is semi sheltered so although it was fairly windy during our stay it didn't cause any problems.
There is a covered chemical disposal point, a separate grey water disposal point and two fresh water points. Recycling facilities are excellent for paper, card, plastic and glass, only cans needed to be taken off site.
The whole place is well maintained by the owners who live on site. The grass is kept short and is well drained, so even in the rain we had it didn't turn into the mud bath that many sites do.
Overall very highly recommended.

Just spent two nights at this beautiful CL, en route from West Yorkshire to Norfolk. What a find!, site very well laid out with large hard standing pitches close to well maintained fishing lake, well stocked with Carp. Two well kept amenity blocks, with excellent shower facilities, washing machine and dryer if required. Grounds are well maintained with well trimmed grass. Maria, the owner is a very nice friendly lady, always willing to spend time of day with you, didn't manage to meet her husband during short stay.
Site at side of A17, but didn't find road noise a problem at all. Next door to 24 hour services and close to Boston.
All in all a lovely site that we will definitely be visiting again.

Had to write a review about this site it was really great, we stayed there in our tourer van. It really was a surprise, the lovely lake and the countryside air was great. The site owners were very polite and helpful, there were electric points and a nice clean shower and toilet. We spent the evenings having BBQ's and watching the sun go down over the lake. Really relaxing site. Would fully recommend a visit and we will definitely go again.

My husband and I had a lovely break at this park, we stayed in one of the luxury log cabins, which I would fully recommend. The site is so peaceful and relaxing. My husband is a keen fisherman and spent his days fishing in the lake on the site. We will definitely visit the site again, it was totally relaxing. There was a nice shopping centre a 10 min drive. This site is very well kept and the owners are very pleasant. There are log cabins and also pitches for caravans which our friends stayed on too. I really would recommend a visit here, best holiday we have ever had.
