Used this site as a two night stopover on the way back from the south coast. It is a large municipal site although split into smaller shaded paddocks so still feels quite intimate. Large central service area with toilets, washbasins and showers all in cubicles. Never had to queue even though the site was quite busy.
There is a small shop which sells bread and milk etc although not a lot else. There is a supermarket just outside the gate. A pizzeria across the road and a couple of basic bars just up the road.
This site is on a busy road and you can catch the bus to the huge McArthur Glen Outlet Village about 5 mins away by car. A good place to stroll although it felt like being transported immediately back to England which broke the holiday spell a bit.
20 minutes walk the other way takes you into the old medieval town which is very pretty and well worth a mooch.
This is a good if busy stopover site (even in late September) and an interesting (if large)town/ small city so not for those who want get away from it all spots.
The only minor gripe I had is that there is a canal or small river which runs at the side of the site which makes that side a bit 'midgy', if you use it I suggest you stick to the side of the site where reception is or in the vicinity of the shower blocks which is a bit more open.
