Have just returned from a 3 day 2 night stay with our two children age 2 and 6. The Site, its amenities and owners were all delightful. It's just a shame the weather wasn't the same (snow, frost, sleet and rain). However this didn't stop us exploring what Derbyshire had to offer.

This is where this site comes up trumps, Yes it only has 5 hard standings for touring caravans, yes it only has 1 toilet and 1 shower, but it is slap bang in the middle of Derbyshire and a superb base to go exploring from (Ashbourne 10 mins away, Matlock Bath 20mins away)and is cheap to boot.

For our first outing in our newly bought 20 odd year old tourer this is one site we will be returning to (in summer though).

For a quiet, out of the way delightful site then I don't think you will go far wrong.

Stayed for two nights over August bank holiday.

The owners were very accommodating with our very last minute request and managed to fit both us and our friends in.

The location and views from this site are lovely. You can walk across the valley to the Tissington Trail.

There was one toilet and shower and one portable loo on the field. All were clean and stocked with loo roll etc. We didn't find that we had to wait very long for shower although none of us were in any particular rush.

I recommend this site, I do usually prefer a site with more amenities (extra loos, showers and a hair-dryer) but I really enjoyed staying here and would do so again.

The owners daughter ran the pub in the village that does nice food, standard pub grub but well done. Gets busy though so if you are a large group might be worth booking a table.

We spent a long weekend here. Not too much to add to the other reviews. One toilet and one shower, very small units and very cramped, but kept clean. The site is Camping & Caravan Club site for members only, but this applies only to caravans. There are only five hard-standings for caravans, but no limit on tents. Having said that it was not a all over crowded and we had been warned that there was a large group that weekend. This did cause a bit of a wait for both toilet and shower at times as some of the caravan users also used the facilities.

The farmer and his wife were friendly and helpful, as a working farm it did get very muddy and the grass in the fields was quite long – making wellies a must! Don’t go if you aren’t keen on cats – there are quite a few with several litters of kittens. The site is well placed to explore and we spent a nice day cycling the Tissington Trail. As the barbecue summer has now officially turned to the brolly summer we didn't see much of the village, but it is very pretty and the pub friendly – but they don’t take cards – cash or cheques only. Not sure if we would go there again in a tent, but certainly would in caravan with its own facilities.

Stayed two nights at this lovely site with friends and three children camping. Different from the rest, lots of space, kittens, free range chickens {of which you can buy eggs from the farmers} stunning view. Only one toilet and shower, however clean and well kept and as not a very big and busy site, never had to wait when any of us needed the loo. Very friendly and helpful.

True tranquillity and peace for all the family. Would highly recommend. Little village about 5 min walk, no shops. Have to drive to ashborne lovely town with lots of different shops. Including old fashioned sweet shop. Market on Saturdays. Site has wealth of leaflets of things to do in the area. Wish we could stay longer.

The owners are very helpful, managing to fit us in at short notice and still making sure that our stay was pleasant. There is plenty of space between the units, with the tents in a separate field.

We did not use the toilet and shower but I noticed the owner making every effort to keep it clean and tidy.

The views are stunning from the site and there are loads of glorious walks to do, including over to Tissington and along the trail.

The owners daughter runs the village pub which is a nice 10 min stroll down the hill to the village. They have also opened a well run shop there when the pub is open.

Parwich village is chocolate box and is a joy to stroll round.

We visited this site at the end of June for a weekend, approaching the site can be a little bit tricky as the road is only a single lane, but we had no problem as there are plenty of passing places and to be fair the road isn't used that often at all, but don't let that put you off, you could always come through the village of parwich as a last resort if that bothered you.

The site itself has wonderful views, there is plenty of space for your caravan, awning and car and the tent field was even bigger, however there was no electric in the tent field.

When we arrived we were met by the owner, she was extremely pleasant and welcoming, to be fair she couldn't do enough for any of us whilst we were there, the poor woman had a problem with a lady in a tent nearby who was complaining that the bathroom didn't have heated towels!, the less said about her the better

Anyway, yes the shower and toilet are basic but adequate, this is set on a working farm, I'm not exactly a small chap and the shower and toilet were fine for me, if you want better (or heated towels) then go to a site where you are paying a hell of a lot more.

The nearby village of Parwich is about a 15 minute gentle walk, the village itself is a hidden gem, the pub, I think it was called the sycamore do great meals, the drinks were good and the welcome even better.

I would go back again with no hesitation, its cheap, you receive a warm welcome, fantastic views, good facilities (water, drainage, toilet disposal), yes the shower room is basic but who cares, its more than sufficent, you may have to wait as there's only one, but why rush.

Hope this has been of some help.

My family and I have just got back from spending 3 nights at this site (second half of Easter).

It is a really quiet site on a working farm with chickens, sheep and cows, the farmer and his wife who run the site are really friendly and helpful.

There is one shower which is 50p and lasts 7.5 mins (which I found was plenty of time) and one toilet which were always clean.

There is a pub in the village (less than 5 mins drive, or you can walk, that is also the village shop.

We found it to be a great base to explore the peak district from.

Dove dale and Carsington water are both nearby, matlock bath is only 20 mins away.

Me and my family we be going back again.

This is a working farm with sheep & cattle, owners very friendly & helpful,

Parwich village is a about a 10 minute walk from the site, beautiful old stone houses & church,

The Sycamore Inn public house was friendly also contains the village shop which was stocked with everyday items
