This touring park does look lovely and some of its facilities are immaculate.

However the owners are not equipped to deal with the number of clients the park is supposed to cater for, neither is the park itself. There are an inadequate number of toilets and showers for busy weekends, we stayed there during the Jubilee weekend, which meant a long wait for a shower, there only being 2 for males and 2 for females, with a potential of at least 80 people staying on the site. There are also an inadequate number of fresh water taps and waste disposal points, these are quite a long walk from your vehicle if you are staying at the far end. Also rubbish bins at time overflowing.

I find it incomprehensible that the owners do not even know which pitch is which, we were allocated a pitch at the far end and could not pitch up our awning at the side, by reversing in as instructed by the owner due to a tent being there, however this was not the fault of our lovely neighbours T and J, they had been told to pitch up there.

A couple of hours after arrival we were asked if we would move, but we declined as were all set up. The owner also asked us if we had paid, surely they should know this information, we had paid in full prior to arrival. Along with another reviewer we were also not invited to the Jubilee party.

On the plus side we met some lovely people who were also staying there and had some good chuckles about the site.

Would we stay there again no, which is a shame as the area is lovely but the owners are really not cut out attitude or facilities wise to deal with the number of pitches they say they can cater for.

Where to begin? Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. This was our first ever trip in our caravan. On arrival, we were greeted by Steve, who, after asking if we'd paid, helped us to manhandle our caravan into our pitch, situated almost at the very end of the site, some 400 metres approx away from all the facilities, toilet block, fresh water, grey water etc.

He seems nice we thought after he'd explained the strict rules regarding the walking and toileting of our small dog and issuing us with our complimentary eco friendly dog poo bags, stating that if more were required we could purchase them from him for a pound.

The toilet block was kept clean, but on occasion due to the large amount of customers it was very busy and my wife had to wait for a shower and to use the toilet. The dustbin areas were in constant need of emptying, whenever I went to place my rubbish the bins were full to overflowing. Whilst I realise that this was a very busy weekend for the owners, arrangements should have been in place to ensure that the rubbish areas were kept tidy. I got the impression that the owners was unable to cope with the large numbers of visiting campers, motorhomes and caravans and was even asked again if we'd paid two hours after we arrived?

I concur with previous dog owners, in that the site and surrounding areas are not fit for dog walking and would suggest that dog owners be warned to this effect, we had to drive out each day to find a suitable dog exercise area, which locally there were none, we ended up driving to Skegness beach daily.

On the Sunday, after a leisurely full english breakfast, whilst emptying waste water and filling up with fresh water, I noticed several people heading out towards the entrance carrying tables, chairs and brollies, so I asked one chap if I'd missed something and he said, 'didn't you get the e-mail?'

I must've looked a bit bemused cause we hadn't received any word? Apparently there was an open invite from the owners to all campers to attend their house having paid £5 per person, for food and drink. So we missed out on that one. It may have been an idea if Steve was to go round and tell everyone the day before or on arrival?

Would I return? In a word, no. I think there are too few facilities for the amount of pitches available and I think the owners were unable to cope with the sheer volume of people on this particular weekend.

Just got back from spending the Jubilee Weekend at Long Acres, so I thought I would write a little review.

The site is very very clean and tidy, the pitches all marked out very well and the toilet block and wash up area is spotless.

However we greeted with a welcome of ' we don't allow commercial vehicles on site' ( we drive a plain vw transit due to the amount of sports etc we do) but as its not sign written we will make an exception. Ok not the best start to our long weekend, but both me and my husband both felt a little unwelcome. We took along our 5 month old puppy who was very well behaved, but we were also told off for not having him on a short enough lead.

The nearby amenities are quiet a walk and the nearest shop is about 3 miles, and the road surrounding the camp site don't have foot paths and no where to let the dog of his lead for a good run around.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, although we felt we were a little bit young compared to the rest of the quests and although a lovely site, the owners attitude towards us we felt wasn't very friendly.

I did check the campsites terms and conditions of booking when I returned home and no where does it say no commercial vehicles, so if you drive a van like ourselves be aware they may not allow you on.

Just returned from 3 nights at this very secluded, but very nice site near Boston in Lincolnshire.

We arrived Friday afternoon of the Bank holiday weekend expecting to find a site which was busy and full. Fortunately it wasn't the case and now looking back I am so glad it wasn't busy as I don't think the site would have coped. Don't get me wrong the site is lovely, set in a very peaceful and tranquil area.

We arrived and found that the pitch had been allocated to us on a board. We made our way to the pitch 5 mph speed limit on gravelled roadways and were greeted by a very pleasant lady who explained that the owners were presently not on site and would contact us later for payment. (different approach which to be honest was very nice) she then gave us a very small supply of biodegradeable doggie loo bags with the strict instructions that dogs were to be exercised off the site. We knew this when we booked but we were not prepared for the distances to walk to take the little doggies off the site to do their stuff. It was one hell of a walk to take doggies off site and in a morning and last thing at night was one hell of a pain. Not only this the surrounding roads and lanes had no footpaths and really I was worried that at night or anytime for that matter pedestrians were in danger from other road users and in an agricultural area from tractors and farm vehicles. As the site was very long anyone using the site from the furthest point from the entrance would certainly struggle to stop the little doggies doing their stuff before they got off site. There was as we found later a grassed area at the end of the site that could have been used to help us out but, we stood by the rules and walked off site. This is the main factor that would stop us returning to the site. If the owners want to allow dogs on site then they really need to reconsider their policy and provide an area or simply stop dogs all together. Elderly people with dogs would struggle with this situation without doubt. One sure way to encourage people to the area would be to provide an area for dogs.

The site itself is very long ( hence the name longacres) actually very long. Only water points we could find were on the main utilities block which was not centrally located and again people at the far end of the site would have a trek to fetch water and use the facilities.

The pitches themselves were hard standing and just enough room for the car to go in front of the van. We wanted to pitch an awning but were put off with the damp grass following heavy rain. The awning would have gone onto the grassed area not on hard standing (a shame no full serviced pitches or larger pitches). Because of the location of facilities and we did get a feeling of being quite close to our neighbours. There was lots of pitches not occupied but if used would take you away from the main facilities. Refuse collection points were located all over the site and recycling bins. There aught to have been water points in these areas too.

Toilets and showers - well what can I say - very nice and very clean. Practical - no, not enough toilets and not enough showers. The showers were made for short people, shower curtain pole to low shower head too low, shower cubicles were good size as were toilets but I got fed up with banging my head in the shower. What a real shame 3 toilets and 3 showers would have been so much better. Mornings are always busy on caravan sites, but I think there were only 12 - 15 units on the site, I wouldn't care to imagine what it would be like if it was full.

Lots of wildlife to see on site, we had a regular visit from lots of birds and rabbits which was lovely to see one or two ducks also visited.

Small tourist information/reception kiosk on site.

Nearest supermarket approx 8 miles in Boston though there were convenience type shops nearer. No shop on site

Nearest pub about 1. 5 miles away.

The area itself is very rural (great) nature reserves to visit, Boston itself wasn't as bad as what I remembered it being from years gone by and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised with the town. A good selection of shops if that's what you like.

So to sum up longacres: a very nice site in need of a few extra loos and showers or even an additional block further up the site. I can only urge the owners that some thought must be given to their dog policy, embrace them as your customers and provide for them or stop them coming all together, this site would have been fantastic if it only had somewhere for the dogs to have a wee in a morning and last thing at night without compromising our safety.

Would we return- not unless there were some improvements, our worst nightmare would be to find that we had booked and been put on a pitch at the sites furthest point - away from the entrance the toilets and water taps. This site has so much potential, but it has not developed sadly.

Another 10/10 stay at this excellent site so peaceful and the owners are great - we had trouble with our electric and the owner made sure we had an electric lead so we could have a cup of tea in the morning nothing is to much trouble for them.

The toilets are spotless, warm and nice hot showers.

We were even given an Easter egg on Sunday.

Some people are funny about the 5mph limit on site but surely this is a good thing we go away for peace and quiet not to have people racing pass - chill out people your on holiday!

There is nothing bad about this site if you are reading this and wondering if to go and try this site - do ! you will not be disappointed.

We visited this site for a weekend earlier in the month. We were familiar with the area and were impressed by the reviews it had received.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted by Margaret who gave us a choice of pitches and showed us the on site facilities.

The site is as good as the reviews said and we could not find anything to fault. The site is tidy, clean, level, well maintained with ample area between pitches. The washing/toilet facilities are excellent and have been well thought out in their design, they are the best naturally lit facilities I have been in on a site.

On Saturday morning we had an enjoyable game of boule, (Steve kindly lent out the boule set) and in the afternoon went to the Boston Steam Rally which was being held nearby.

There are plenty of places where you can get a meal, not too far from the site.

This is a delightful site set in quite rural surroundings and we will return next year.

We were talking to our neighbours, for the weekend, and realise that leaving a review is a 'Catch 22' situation. Leave a good review and the site could become busy and you may not be able to book in when you want. We decided that if the site does not succeed, you will not have a site to go to at all.

This campsite truly deserves to succeed, it is the best we have been on and would recommend it to anyone.

Just spent bank holiday weekend at long acres and what a great little site. It is one site you do not tell any one about to make sure it does not get full for the next time you want to go.

The entrance to the site is between to bungalows one is the owners and the other is i think a holiday let. The owner was not there to greet us but there was a big board with all the peoples names on and what pitch you were on.

The owners are very friendly and will go out of there way to help you they are about all day if you need any thing.

The pitches are well thought out they take both caravans and tents, grass was cut nice and it was not muddy as we had a lot of rain. There are trees all round so you are sheltered from the wind.

The shower block was spotless both mens and womens soap was in both and good hand dryers. The nearest pub is 5 minutes drive away and the staff and food is first class.

Will go back very soon.

This was our 3rd stay here and yet again one of the best sites we have stayed this time was fully booked but it is laid out so well you don't feel on top of one another, nice to have a bit at the side of caravan to sit out on. Never had to wait for lovely hot powerful showers either.

Steve the owner had made some pudding for us very nice touch-and very yummy-and was very welcomed as just got soaked taking the dog for a walk.

There isnt much else to add to all the good reviews only that once you find out about the site it will be hard to beat ! and leave!

This site really is 5 star. We got here Friday night and it was absolutely banging it down, we were greeted by the owner who was drenched but took time to come out to us.

All the site has hardstanding pebble roadways and your pitch is at the side with a grasses area. Because it is planned like this then there is no mud everywhere and we found this very helpful when we put the tent up.

The showers and toilets are spotless with hand wash in the toilet area. There is a mop for guests to clean up if there is any mess. This area is cleaned at least once a day, I can't knock this site at all it's top class and the owners take great pride in their site and it shows.

Adult only site so it is a little quieter and we found the noise to be minimal on a night but I guess this would depend on who is staying,

There is a lovely pub 1 mile up the road that is very well priced, no food though but still a great pub. Boston is 10 minutes away and is a beautiful town And skegness is only a short drive,

All In all this is a great site, we paid £18 per night for 2 of us and a large family tent with electric hook up ( that doesn't trip out)

We will definitely stay again.

We have just returned from a long weekend at this site and it has become my new favourite. This is a peaceful adults only site. It was particularly quiet whilst we were there.

The grounds are beautifully kept. Each pitch has a hardstanding, a grassed area and are separated by small trees and shrubs.

The facilities are of a high quality and kept immaculately clean. Radio 2 plays in the facilities block.

The owners are very pleasant and very helpful.

I didn't want to leave. We will definitley be back though sadly it may not be this year as we are booked up!

There is lots to do in the area. We went to Gibraltar Point one day and Tattershall Castle and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight centre the next day.
