We have been meaning to stay here for some time now and at last we have. Suzan is quite a character! very welcoming and full of advice, one was to only turn your water heater on 10 minutes before needed as can be a bit pricey when on electric. It cost us £9 + for 2 night stay but we didn't take her advice.
on site shower room was a nice surprise, probably one of the cleanest we have used. We didn't get a chance to fish as the British motorcross championships were on at Lyng so we decided to give this a look instead. £20 per person to get in which is rather steep!

There is a Premier store just at the end of the lane which sells just about everything.

We booked to dine at the Fox & Hound on Saturday night (after reading the reviews we booked before leaving home). We got there early but after waiting half an hour to get a drink (couldn't get anywhere near the bar) and after hearing the barmaid say to a lady, who informed her that her table had arrived 'yeah and', we decided to leave.

We went back the next day and had lunch which was very nice but we were overcharged which I pointed out to the barmaid when paying the bill but she informed me 'the price is wrong on the menu therefore no reduction was given!

Hasn't put us off going back to Utopia Paradise. Check out the signs near the recycling bins about opening times and the doggy poo bin!

Second visit to this wonderful site.

Despite the weather at Easter, the atmosphere was good.

The site is well drained, size of pitch very good.

Electricity paid for by meter which worked out very economically considering the cold and the heater on a lot.

Suzanne the owner very helpful and nothing too much trouble for her.

Major shops in Dereham, and Norwich both about 10 miles with a few local shops in village.

Good pub in Lyng and excellent food.

Will definitely return later in the year.

We spent a fantastic 8 nights at this beautiful site end July/beginning of August, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

The site owner is brilliant. She is so helpful on arrival to the site, ensuring that you have the correct size pitch (which are much larger than average) and that you are set up as perfectly as you can be. She also lent us some chocks and a booster aerial for our TV, for which we were very grateful.

The site is very quiet and picturesque, and we were lucky enough to have fabulous weather while we were there. My husband tried his hand at fishing for the very first time and caught plenty during our stay!

We paid £9 a night for our pitch, which I thought was extremely reasonable. The electricity was metered so you pay for what you use, but we only spent around £11 for the 8 nights and I think that this is a much better way of doing things. The shower/toilet block were spotless, and although shower tokens are £1. 20 each, you get 10 minutes for that so it's ample time for 2 people (the shower block is unisex).

There is a well stocked shop and a lovely pub only a few minutes walk from the site. There is also access to the nearby river just a bit further round the road, which was excellent for our 2 dogs to take a cooling dip in during the heat.

The site was very well placed for exploration of the Norfolk Broads and the nearby city of Norwich. We really loved the beach at Cromer, and the lovely seaside town of Wells-next-the-sea.

All in all, we really enjoyed this little gem of a site and hope to visit again one day soon!

Utopia Paradise has 15 pitches which are nearly all situated round the lake which is the focal point of this very attractive site. There are plenty of trees but the pitches are not hemmed in by them, although some are a little more open in aspect than others.

The owner, Sue, is quite a character with a quirky sense of humour, but she aims to please and really puts herself out for you. She very kindly printed off some information about the cycle path we were asking her about, for example.

The site is very peaceful, well away from any busy roads, but the access to the site is good. The lake and trees are a haven for birds, (including swans, ducks and geese) and there is plenty of birdsong. Sue is keen to ensure that the units are well spaced out, with a 6m gap in between, which I thoroughly approve of.

Rather unusually, the electricity is metered, so you pay for what you use, which seems very fair. It also gets you to think about what appliances you are using and Sue gives you a good idea of how much you are likely to use and the cost involved, which was quite an eye-opener! It is clear that most sites subsidise their clients one way or another and the sort of fees most charge per night just doesn't cover it. We used our gas more than we night otherwise have done, which was probably more economical anyway, especially with this metered system. Bottled gas is sold on site too.

The basic pitch fee is very reasonable, at £9 a night for 2 people, with no extra charge for awnings. The shower is £1.20 per token, for which there is plenty of water. Although there is a wash block, there are no dishwashing facilities. This wash block is contained in a large metal storage container, like you'd see on an articulated lorry, which from the outside is not much to look at, but has been tastefully kitted out inside. The gents' has two urinals and 2 WCs with 2 sinks, both with hot and cold water. The ladies' has 1 sink and 1 WC. The shower (unisex) is in a spacious'room' within the container and has a WC and sink.

The site is very peaceful and everyone was very friendly which created a lovely atmosphere. There is coarse fishing at the lake and a number of campers obviously enjoyed this. The first 2 rods are free. The site is basically flat, but you might need a check for for odd bit of unevenness on your pitch, which are all grass (no hardstanding).

Although there are only 2 water points, they are centrally positioned, by the wash block and there is a hose already attached from the tap, which is very useful. (I wish more sites would do this.) There are 2 chemical disposal points nearby and also grey water disposal, although you are encouraged to 'water the bushes' with it, unless you've got anything particularly undesirable in it.

There is a handy local shop less than 5 mins. Walk away which is open from 7-7 in the week and 8-1 on Sunday. The local pub, the Fox & Hounds is also less than 5 mins. Away. It has a good range of food, if perhaps a little bit pricey. Ithad 4 real ales, all served straight from the cask. When we were there, these were Hopback Summer Lightning, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Woodforde's Wherry and Adnam's Broadside. We went to their Tues. Eve steak night, for which booking was essential. This was good value at £14.95 for two.

The area is good for cycling, with plenty of quiet roads and the Marriott Way, which is a cycle route along an old railway trackbed. You could get all the way into Norwich using it (about 13 miles) or, in the other direction, Reepham and Aylsham. You could cycle to this track from the site or you could take the car to nearby Lenwade and park in the free (but Small) car park there.

Norwich is a pleasant city, with attractive cathedrals and shops, as well as lots of good pubs. When we there it happened to be the inaugural 'City of Ale' festival, which was interesting.

As one would expect with an adults only site this is very peaceful and relaxing. We would heartily recommend it and if we're back in the area, we'll certainly aim to come back to this site.

Well we returned to the park and stayed for the month of may and have just returned on the 3 June we had a wonderful time. Susan the owner makes everyone feel welcome and she is willing to help with anything she can.

The park has now got cement steps to the fishing pegs and a small wooden well built decking with pontoon attached and it is wheelchair access. The toilet and shower block is spotless. We were able to see the new arrives as well, signets and ducklings.

The campers coming in and out are so friendly it is like one big family when we are all in. We have met up with new and old campers.

We are returning again on the 17th of this month, susan may have to get an eviction notice for us.

Highly recommended to all adults, scenic and relaxing. Beautiful retreat.

What a terrific Caravan Site welcomed by the warden who was cheerful and humorous

The toilet facilities were clean and adequate everyone was most helpful. Both Lesley and myself found just what we wanted somewhere to chill for a quiet week with no children or noise to contend with.

The fishing was a little slack or they where just not biting, apart from that we have no problems recommending this site to anyone who loves peace and quiet and will be booking up for the 2011 season.

We drove through some very heavy rain to reach Lyng and were very concerned about the amount of water lying about in the local fields. However, on arrival at the site our worst fears were allayed - although the pitches were all grass it was a site that drains well. Even in the damp this site is lovely and it's very peaceful and well sheltered.

Sue, the site owner, is one of those that will go that one step further to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible.

There are two toilets and a shower room housed in a container unit, although once inside you wouldn't know it. The shower room is large with plenty of hanging hooks and there are some complimentary toiletries available. There is plenty of time and hot water for two of you to shower for the £1.20 charge.

We, and other anglers on the site, were disappointed with the fishing. The lake is beautiful and surrounded by trees and bushes but there seemed to be a lack of fish - had the pike had them? I understand that there are quite a few other fisheries in the area that are more productive.

The shop in the village has now re-opened and can supply most of your daily requirements. The local pub appears to be very popular with eaters but you need to book. There is a bus service to Dereham.

Just got back from a week of perfect peace and quiet on this little gem of a site, couldn't have asked for a more as Sue the lady who ownes and runs the site will do her best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The site is clean and very well kept.

There is a pub/restaurant in the village and the meals were very nice. The site is well situated for visiting the North Nofolk coast and Norwich city.

There is a lovely cycle/bridle path called mariots way not far from the site and it will take you right into the centre of Norwich avoiding all the busy roads. Will be going back.

Had 3 wonderful nights at this site. Weather was not good but that didn't bother us. We chilled out, our motohome pitch was by the lake, my husband did some fishing,(you get 2 rods free) ducks and swans roamed free and on the day we left the weather changed, the sun came out and the wind dropped and out came the squirrels.

The shower and toilets were spotless. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday then this is the place for you. There is a shop that sells almost everything just round the corner and a pub that does good food, but in the busy season I was told it is best to book.

Dogs are permitted but we left our 3 at home as our daughter dog sat. We are definitely going back for longer next year.

If any one told you you could only ever use one site for the rest of your camping life would you know which one, well up to now I would have struggled to decide but not any more this is the best site I have been on that has every thing that I want.

Some sites excel in different aspects but but then fall short in others Utopia Paradise has high standards in all areas, all pitches are lakeside or very close with uninterrupted views of the lake, the toilet and showers are a temporary unit in a lorry container but you would not believe what the owner has done with them, they put many a purpose built facility to shame.

The moment you arrive on site the owner greets you in her own unique style, shows you all available pitches and lets you choose which you want, and remains concerned that you are enjoying yourself through out your stay. As she said to me me she doesn't consider you as campers but as guests and it is her responsibility to ensure you are happy.

If nothing else grabs your attention then the cost should £9 per night up to 4 persons awnings free fishing free pets free showers are £1.20 my initial thought was a little pricey but then I found out it was a shower room with shower cubical and the £1.20 lasts about 10min so plenty of time for a couple to get showered.

I'm not going to go on if you are in the area try it the up or downside depending on your needs is its an adult only site.

Just thought had better add its a communication black spot no mobile phone or internet but I can live with that. As far as the electricity goes you pay for what you use it cost us £5.29 for eight nights.
