We loved it at Wavecrest! Priceless having the view of the beach and watching sunset whilst having dinner.
The facilities were great and were cleaned two during the one night we stayed, very Covid friendly!

Lovely campsite. Beautiful location overlooking the bay.
Very clean shower and toilet block.
Highly recommend stopping here when you roll off the ferry at castlebay. Just a few minutes up the road.

Very chilled friendly site. We didn't use the facilities apart from hook up and water and waste. Owner was very welcoming. Good views and right on the shore.
Would recommend. Lots of space for kids to play and owner even gave them a ride on his quad bike round the field!

Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Couldn't help enough.
Water, waste and Electricity available. Nice view over the water and extremely good value for money. Only down side being we couldn't get internet.
However we would stay again and do recommend. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming.

We were met shortly after we arrived by the owner’s son, who was very helpful and chatty. Pitches are grass but most have a fantastic, unimpeded view of the beach and sunset towards the west. The site wasn’t full at all so all vans had the view. There is tent camping but in an area completely away from the motorhome spots.
There is no waste water point but all other necessities are provided. We didn’t use the facilities but they looked a bit basic - the kitchen was somewhat jerry-built and the shower/ toilet in what looked like an old container from a lorry.
Location fantastic - 5 mins from the ferry at castlebay, 20 minutes from Ard Mhor (but then Barra is so small, nowhere is very far!
We loved Barra, a trip to the airport is worth it, to watch the small aeroplane land on the beach, the only scheduled flights to do so in the world I believe.
Also we had a day on Vatersay, an even smaller island at the bottom of Barra, reached by a causeway. Lovely remote spot, with a fabulous walk round the tip of the island, over the hills and round three amazing beaches, passing a ruined, abandoned town along the way and coming back over the most amazing grassy dunes. For an easier walk you can park above the beach where the cows are standing in the water (!) and walk a shorter path to a beautiful beach on the other side.

Great site with amazing views. Only 5 minute drive from the ferry but felt like miles away once there.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful and facilities were as you would expect.
I would recommend and stay there again.

Brilliant setting. Ronald is a fine host, he greeted us in arrival.
We could have picked a worse day in terms of weather, but Ronald and his son helped us dry our clothes, tents and bikes.
Good for motor homes too.
Short cab to castlebay (£6).
Excellent showers, kitchen area and loos.
10/10 for service
