We stayed here for one night only after a bad start at another site. (another story). The owner who runs the site with her husband were very welcoming and friendly. Very reasonable rates and we would stay here again. The river is at the bottom of the field and plenty of fishing. The showers and toilets were very clean. Plenty of walks for the dogs and us. Just down the road was somewhere to eat which was lovely. Would definitely stay here again but for longer next time.

What a Gem of a campsite. The owners are very welcoming even to the point of offering that we could pick rhubarb and herbs from their garden during our stay.
The site is in an excellent location and we did lots of walking, cycling and took our kayak out onto the water. Four Winds has their own launching jetty, so great for access to the river.
They have only been running the site for just over a year and at the moment only take set amount of bookings due to there only being 2 showers and 2 toilets to use but we are sure they will be very successful and their business will grow even more to hopefully consider producing more hard standings, electric hook-ups and shower/toilet facilities.
All in all a wonderful weekend and a big thumbs up from us. You won't be disappointed we can assure you. We will definitely be returning next summer.

Had a great weekend at this site. Stayed with 4 other families with children ranging from 5-12 yrs.
The pitches were very generous and there was plenty of room for everyone. We tried canoeing which was great fun.
We all set up tents in the rain! However for a very reasonable price the owners brought pots of delicious home made bolognese and garlic bread - the rain stopped and we enjoyed the food by the campfire.
There are 2 toilets and showers and a good area for washing dishes etc- this area is an extension of the main house. If you want to be closer to the toilets take this into consideration as if your camped by the river it is a bit of a walk in the middle of the night.
Large Tesco about a mile away, also a halfords.
The site was nice and quiet at night, as the plots are so big you don't feel as if you are disturbing others whilst chatting by the fire.
Kids loved toasting marshmallows and playing in the huge open area.
The site feels very safe and the only obvious entrance is via the driveway from the house.
Fantastic value and comes highly recommended

Had a fantastic stay at Fourwinds. Really friendly reception when we arrived. Had loads of room to pitch our tent and best of all we were able to have a campfire :0) they even sell bags of hard wood logs :) campsite was quiet, has lovely clean toilet/shower facilities and is right on the river, fantastic if you like fishing or fancy taking one of Fourwinds Canadian style canoes out. We had our 2yr old with us and he loved all the space he had to run around in. We have recommended this site to friends and family and were going back next month.

Camped at Fourwinds for a weekend,
Can not repeat enough, as other reviews stated,
Really lovely owners.
Happened to be the same weekend as March music festival which was a real bonus.
Once the planted trees have matured the 'fourwinds'
Will be tamed, but windbreaks do the trick!
Amazing, modern, clean facilities best we have ever used.
As only 2 showers and 2 toilets busy weekends would result in queues but we certainly had no problems on a quiet weekend.
For the very light sleeper there is background road, rail and an industrial drier noise from neighboring field. BUT this is background and it would not prevent us from re booking, in fact selfishly loathe to promote this campsite and keep to ourselves.
March is easily walked or cycled to along towpath and under road bridge to a lovely cycle/walk around March
Fire pits are available making a great atmospheric
Warm camp, firewood available at sensible prices, (one campsite wanted £15 for a load)
We did not use available kayaks, but plenty available and the river is beautiful, lots of pretty narrow boats in and around to admire!
Owners are always available to help but not at all intrusive.
Great Campsite
Thank you lovely owners!

Our family booked for us and we weren't too sure about it when we first arrived, the campsite is situated in quite an agricultural area with lots of pylons in the surrounding area and is sited at the back of what looks like an ordinary house (which has b&b), but it really is a great little campsite, backing directly onto the river nene - we hired canoes from the site which was great fun and highly recommended and the owners were really friendly and helpful. The site doesn't really have much in the way of facilities but what they do have is nicely maintained, showers etc. We went on a fairly quiet weekend and the 2 showers and 2 loos were fine but not sure whether this would be sufficient on a busy weekend? We walked into March in around 20-30 minutes, the walk itself was pleasant but March was a bit of a disappointment - a bit tatty. The bonus with this campsite was that campfires were allowed which is unusual. I don't think we'll return by choice because the local area isn't really our thing but for anyone wanting to stay in the area for camping I would definitely recommend this campsite.

This site is great if you Canoe as the river is literally at the end site with steps and a wooden mooring. The owner is a canoer and knows the river well. The showers are also great as they are like proper house showers rather than a drafty old block and for the modest token cost they run hot for a good length of time. The site also have some pitches with fire pits and they allow open fire as long as you let them know when you book. All-in-all a great little find on ukcampsite.co.uk

We stayed at this campsite last week (April 2013) in our motorhome. We had our children also aged 10 & 2yrs.
It was a lovely site, very clean and the owners were incredibly friendly, always happy to help.
They have 5 hard standings with electric which is on a pay as you go system, if you have any electric left on the card they refund it back to you.
There are facilities to dispose of your waste from the motorhome/caravan and also drinking water on tap.
There are showers (you buy tokens for these), toilets and sinks all in the same area and it was very clean at all times.
The field you stay on has a lovely river at the end where you can fish but this doesn't start till mid June and the owners also offer canoe hire if you want a day out.
The site is very close to the town March which has cycle routes into town or you can drive.
There is plenty to do with the kids, my husband was there to paramotor at UKPPG club so I was entertaining the kids.
We were very close to Tesco's which you could either walk to, cycle (10mins) or drive (5mins).
If you are taking a tent they have dug out camp fire pits around the field which we thought was a great idea as not many sites have this.
Definitely try this site, you won't be disappointed! :)

Really can't add very much to the reviews already on here, just endorse their sentiments. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It is obvious they have already put a lot of hard work into the site and are continuing to do so.
The site facilities are good, it's in a lovely position next to the river, pitches are very spacious. Plenty of surrounding public footpaths.
Unfortunately it was too cold to take advantage of sitting around a campfire, but this would be lovely in warmer weather. Would not hesitate to recommend to others or to return myself.

Just came back from here and the site owners are out of this world. they were very friendly and very helpful, nothing was a problem. The site is very spacious, very quiet and the wildlife is unbelievable. We had to leave early due we ran out of gas, which was a shame, that everywhere we tried had sold out, but this is not the site owners fault they tried there hardest to help us out. The facilities are very good, no, great even, very clean and excellently maintained. Site has great views and the sunset is something. There is a large tesco only about 10 mins drive from the site. If you would love a nice and peaceful site, this is the one for you. We will be returning again some time soon,
