We stayed on this camp site just prior to it's opening as part of a Native American awareness day organised by the site owners for the charity they run.
The site is very flat being in the fens and there is a river running along the back which I believe the owners are adding a mooring this month from where they will be hiring canoes.
It is a lovely spot and you can walk along the river into the nearby town of March. We didn't explore March much but there is a decent sized Tesco there where we ate a very nice meal (classy I know lol) there are also various pubs (not tried) and a Chinese that delivers which apparently has lovely food according to friends that were staying there too.
The site has brand new showers (very clean with lots of hot water) paid for with tokens. The toilets are also new all of which are in a heated area. There is washing up facilities in a conservatory area again with plenty of hot water. Chemical disposal etc all in place. The owners are fab and are working really hard to make the site amazing.
They will be providing a bookable breakfast service for those who don't want to cook which is lovely idea. There seems to be lots of plans in the pipeline to make the site even better than it already is.
I look forward to returning when canoeing and archery are available.
Mr and Mrs Chappell have put a lot of thought into the basic facilities that a camper or caravanner might need. I enjoy staying on quiet sites and this one is very peaceful.
The toilet block and shower facilities are new and a room is provided for washing up.
I was there specifically for a Native American awareness day that was being held locally so I did not get to explore the surrounding area much although I did enjoy a walk by the river.
I understand that canoeing and different courses will be available soon so I hope to make a return visit in the near future.
