This is a new site and very well laid out with hardstandings and grass. When we were there, the site had a water point, electricity, cdp and rubbish, which is all we ever need and for a CS it was absolutely fine. The owner Jeff is very helpful and full of local knowledge with plans for expansion on the site. It is close to the main road so there is road noise during the day, there is also a petrol station and Little Chef right on the doorstep. For those wanting to do the Roman thing, it is an ideal location, Vindolanda, Roman Army Museum, Housesteads and the wall itself are all within reasonable travelling distance just turn left out of the site. The little town of Haltwhistle is very pretty with a Co-Op, bank etc. The village of Bardon Mill is a short walk across fields which was good for exercising the dog. The Bowes Hotel there serves meals and has very friendly staff and there is a little shop with a tea room in the village as well as the pottery. Well worth a visit.

Great site run by Jeff and Sheila who are so friendly and helpful. We booked 3 nights and stayed 10 nights ! Beautiful views from site which was immaculate. Basic facilities at the moment but shower and toilet to come soon.
We loved the goats sheep and horses in field nearby.
Bardon Mill is walkable with good tearoom with small shop and Bowes hotel/ pub with friendly atmosphere and good food. Bardon Mill pottery is worth a visit.
Within a 10 mile radius lots of places to visit.
Beautiful area with exceptionally friendly people, we will definitely be back to this site.
