 This is a really lovely site, very relaxing, kids loved playing amongst the trees. Toilet very clean at all times, showers could have been more powerful. Might depend on the area.
Don't forget to put midge repelent on or you WILL be bitten.
Make sure you have plenty fuel in your car it is expensive and far away from cheaper stations. Also have all the shopping you need not much choice, not many shops about 10m to nearest.
Saying all that it was a lovely site just prepair and you will enjoy.

Good site. Flat tent pitches but stoney ground - so you need to push pegs in almost horizontal. Touring pitches looked good. Lots of all weather pitches available. Toilets and showers excellent standard and clean.
Site sits in Leaplish Water Park. On the park there is an indoor swimming pool (£4.50 for 1 adult and two kids, 3 day and weekly discount passes available). Shop (has basics eg tea, bread, beer) and restaurant/bar (about £6 for a reasonable adult meal, kids meals available). Shop has leaflets which contain discount vouchers for local attractions at the back.
An excellent birds of prey centre is on the water park (£10 family ticket, £8 with the leaflet discount). The ticket lasts all day to see the birds and two flying demonstrations (different types of birds each time). Kielder ferry stops at the water park. Also minature golf (£1.50) and a play park for the kids but these are not witihn sight of the tent area so you'll need to accompany small children.
Excellent for taking the bikes. Kids can safely cycle round the site and there are a number of Kielder cycle/walking paths going past the site. Bikes can be hired up in Kielder village, pre-booking (especially kids bikes) is essential.
Cost was £10.45 for 1 night (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog, 1 car, 1 tent).
Nearest pubs are the Anglers Arms in Kielder village (no dogs allowed inside but tables available outside), or The Pheasant (going back towards Bellingham) which reputedly allows dogs. Both about 5 miles away.
Some midges were still around the tents (late September) but gone from the rest of the site. The facilites are open until end of October when all midges should be gone but you would need an extra blanket. It can get very cold at night.

A large well spaced out site. Usual high standards. Part of the site overlooks Kielder Water others are set amongst the plantation.
Although the site is remote, next to the site is a small family pub, which offer excellent meals and a couple of nights a kids disco(no noise from here on site). The swimming pool here is small but not too busy. There is a bike wash here too as the area is awash with cycle tracks.
Here you will find it all- peace, quiet, stunning countryside, water sports and do as much or as litlle as you please.
