We stayed for 5 nights and the general appearance of the site is very clean and well cared for. More tents and caravans than we were expecting to see, but site was quiet. It is situated about 10 minutes drive, traffic permitting, from Newton Abbot - Tesco is nr race course, Wetherspoons is in town centre. Trago Mills is good to visit on a wet day!
If you do not need electricity you appear to have more space - those that did want it were a bit crammed in. We had lots of rain during our visit, so did not use the pool. Camping area is grassy and some pitches are on sloping ground.
Downside = the toilet block facilities. A little dark, a bit old - could do with re-tiling and updating - but adequate and generally clean. Occasional problems with other people turning off the light while I was in the shower. To cope with high demand there were additional wash facilities in a mobile unit - these were ok but cramped - particularly the shower cubicle.
Good washing up facilities under cover. Washing machine and tumble drier - extra charges apply. Tourist information leaflets available.
Security gate can close at any time, so you must have a card to access the site - £10 - refunded when you leave.

We have used this site on two occasions, the first time was off season and there was plenty of space. This time (July 2008) units were quite close together and space was limited. Showers and toilet facilities good, and there is a large exercise field for dogs. Owners very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Site was very near to South Devon Agility Club Show ground which was our reason for choosing it, but would probably not choose this site for a camping holiday during the peak season.

Stayed here the last week in July, on the rally field. Although the field is on a slope,. If you get your chocks out it doesn't pose much of a problem and although we didnt need them there was a large supply of foot blocks available around the EHU.
The grass was kept short and was being cut again on the morning of our departure.
We didn't use the facilities much as we like to use our van, but I heard no complaints from anyone else.
On the main site everything looked well groomed and after 8pm the use of a fob key is needed to get through the main gate, hired from reception on arrival (£10, refundable on its return).
The only downside is the distance of the travelling to the coastal towns, the main road from Newton Abbott to the coast can get rather slow at any time of the day, and that's the only reason why we wouldn't go back to this site. Otherwise a lovely site in a lovely area of the country.

This is a lovely clean site, run by nice people and very well maintained. We initially booked for a couple of days but liked it so much we stayed for 8 nights.
The site caters mainly for caravans and is mostly on a slight slope. However, there is a reasonably level area at the top of the field that is well drained and ideal for tents. Electric hookup is available.
The toilets are clean and always had loo roll. The showers are extremely hot and would burn a child but there is an adjustable one in the disabled toilet that the owner advised me to use for my daughter. The washing up area and laundry were inside and nice and clean. There are two coin operated washing machines and a separate tumble dryer.
There is a small shop on site selling eggs and meat from the farm. It also had some caravan toilet chemicals and gas cylinders.
There is an outdoor heated swimming pool that was lovely and warm. It was a pleasure to get in. It was quite cold when you got out so when we go again next year I will take a towelling robe to walk straight to the showers.
It is a working farm and our two year old loved the chickens and cows that are in the fields adjoining the site. Fishing was available but we didn't look into this at all.
Newton Abbot (Tesco) is about two miles away so shopping is no problem if you have a car. The only thing that we would have liked is a country pub within walking distance.
Tourist Info available in the laundry but if you have kids then visit the miniature pony centre. It is a full day out with a fantastic falconry display, trampolines, lots of tiny ponies to cuddle and loads of outdoor and indoor play areas.

If you are looking for a quiet site that goes to sleep at 10pm this is for you. Staff are very helpful. Swimming pool and feeding the chickens was a big hit with the kids. There are flies about but this is a working farm. I would definitely return hopefully under better weather conditions. Showers are very hot and like water cannon which was good. Loads to do in surrounding area Crealy, Paignton Zoo Etc. Wetherspoons in town do a great breakfast. They can do electric pitches for tents and will even lend you the cables. Site also accepts credit / debit cards.

We visited this site at the end of the bank holiday week in May 2004. It is a small family run site on a farm. The main site is flat and very well laid out with hardstandings available. There is a second field which when we were there had a caravan club rally. The shop is part of reception and small but quite well stocked, papers are available to order. Local supermarkets are not far off. There is a swimming pool. The toilet and shower block is small but immaculate. There is fishing available but its actually down the lane. We found plenty of places to walk the dog. Not very much for teenagers to do.

The campsite is on a hill, smelt of manure a bit first thing in a morning not enough showers for the campsite. We went on the campsite because it was small when we got there they had two fields, the campsite website needs updating.
The swimming pool looked inviting we did,not go in but the water felt warm. The fishing pond looked good just a short walk from the campsite.
Overall the site is central close too coastal regions, clean and tidy and we would go back again

Superb location, just a short drive from Stover park, Toilets and showers were clean, however, they were always full of flies, this is because the waste bins are kept outside the mens shower / toilet block, above the bins are the toilet windows which are always open, would do well to fit fly screens. The main caravan park is very well laid out and looks well manicured, but the lower part is a meadow field which is on a 20% incline, not very good for tents and even caravans were chocked up on wood. Be aware this site has no real provision for exercising dogs, the owners labled a field at the bottom "dog walk field" which was covered in cow pats.

April 2004 Very nice site, mainly for caravans, but reasonable rates for my two large tents. My three lurchers were not a problem, as there is a large dog walking field available. It was a quiet site with few kids squealing around. The facilities are small; two showers, two toilets, two basins in the gents; three toilets in the ladies; but in superb nick. The whole site is very well kept. The people, both owners and campers are friendly and open. My two daughters liked the site as well, because it was so quiet. It is within easy reach of Tescos, Newton Abbott, Trago Mills, Teignmouth, and Torquay. Would definitely consider a return visit.
