(Couple - late 40's/early 50's - look for peace, quiet and tranquillity, but with a few mod cons).

Stayed 3 nights - Fri 21/11 to Mon 24/11

Just had 3 nights here in a tent, on a very wet November weekend. And still came home smiling, so they must have got things right!

The only tent there, but there were a few folk about, as there were a good few caravans on site.

Booking was easy and pleasant enough, done by 'phone, just 2 days before arrival.

The welcome was professional, but friendly. Was shown around the amenities etc, and offered numerous maps/leaflets etc for getting out & about. And another 10% off voucher for the local. Which also came in handy for a late Sunday lunch!

For two of our three nights, the gents' shower section was off limits, as they were being decorated. The rest of the gents was spotlessly clean, reasonably warm (radiators), and extremely welcoming. And even had those proper small guest towels-in-a-basket, (rather than paper towels), which were regularly topped up, with the used ones taken away for laundry.

For a shower, we were given full access to the all-inclusive disabled shower room.

The ladies block was also immaculate, and recently refurbished. I'd give them 9/10 for these. But only because we have been spoiled elsewhere with underfloor heating! Without that excuse, I would have scored a 10!

The pitch itself was showing small signs of mud, and was very wet. But there were no puddles, no water-logging, and no boggy areas. And of course, the site cannot be held responsible for the weather! We left the pitch a little more muddy than when we started. And felt guilty, as the remainder of the site was immaculate!

(All the caravans/motorhomes were on hard-standing).

Given the conditions, the site coped very well, and I'd have no hesitation in returning in a tent in winter.

Easy access by car to Harrogate, which was top of our agenda (After trying out our brand spanking new tent, that is!)

The slightest hint of owls hooting in the distance. No road noise, no train tracks, no flight paths, so yes, it was peaceful enough!

All in all, an excellent well tended site, with an amiable and hard-working hostess, and superb facilities.

Will definitely plan to return at some stage.

Thanks for having us.

Myself, my wife and our Labrador have spent 3 nights at Glenfield from 14th November. It was overcast and rained. But we didn't care as we had a great time on this fantastic site! It's a great spot with level concrete hardstanding pitches. The site manager, Gemma was full of energy and helped to guide us into position on our pitch upon arrival. She seems to never stop working! But, on saying that, despite her being available (seemingly constantly - does she NEVER have a day off?!), our privacy was always respected. The shower blocks on site are spotless and some of the best we've seen. Power hook up was 6 feet from the unit (no 'spooling out' 80 feet of power cable). We were given a (10% off) voucher for the hotel down the road and the sunday lunch was fantastic. Huge portions and first rate service and great prices (have the lamb shank). There's a Tesco Express a few miles back the way we came in and a 'mini mart' type shop up the road. 6 miles away there's a great Country Park in woods for dog walkers. The Dales National Park is a short distance away.

In short, we're glad we visited Glenfield and will DEFINITELY be returning!

What a wonderful site. Gemma is such a helpful and enthsiastic owner who went out of her way to make our stay, in early September, a very satisfying one. She made sure we were settled on our hard standing and our caravan was positioned how we wanted it. She drew a map of local walks and advised the best way to get to Harewood House. The facilities were spotless. The local wildlife was amazing with Red Kites flying nearby during the day and owls at night. All this for a very reasonable price. We would definitely visit again.

Stayed at this site for 2 nights the owner was very helpful and provided a map of the local roads with pubs/shops marked. The shower/toilet block was one of the best we have seen on a campsite. There are ehu's. Children are welcome but there is no play area. A well kept clean and tidy site in the countryside. 15 mins drive to leeds and 15 mins drive to wetherby,

Lovely friendly site. The owner is a welcoming host who works hard to maintain high standards of facilities.

A quiet site but there are plenty of places to visit close by and the owner `is on hand to point these out.

Good eating pubs nearby so you will not go hungry!

I camped here three times over the last 2 months and always found the facilities clean and well looked after by campers. Lovely hot showers which make all the difference when camping.

I will be back again. Thanks.

Just had a lovely weekend at this little gem of a site, first impressions were how well maintained it looked the grass was cut to perfection the presentation around the toilet/shower block of a lovely abundance of baskets and tubs was a pleasure to see. Full marks go the young lady who owns the site and so friendly and helpful, she was more than happy to fill us in on places to visit etc, whilst may I add working tirelessly maintaining the high standards of cleanliness in the toilets/showers and still managing to fit in a friendly chat whilst doing endless jobs around the site. We found the walk she recommend a pleasant surprise after the torrential rain the day before as there was hardly any evidence of it, so all in all A big thankyou to the owner for a fab weekend and we will certainly be returning soon.  Stayed here as overnight stays going to holiday and coming home again. Welcomed by the new owner on both occasions. Park clean and tidy. Hard standing pitches awning space would be grass but we never used awning as overnight stay. Toilets immaculate and well maintained. Good hot showers. Dishwashing area very clean. No playground. Very quiet peacefully park. Pub about a mile away tesco and other shops 2 miles away. Wii definitely be back.

My first visit to this site was a very pleasant experience. The site itself was kept in an immaculate condition and the toilet block was spotless.

I awoke to the lovely sound of birdsong.

The owner was friendly a accommodating.

I plan to use this site again myself and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

We have stayed here three times, as it is very convenient for visiting our family nearby, and there are no suitable Caravan Club CLs in the area. We have found the site quite acceptable on past occasions, but this time it was great to see the new owner putting such a lot of time and commitment into making it a really pleasant site. Paths have been improved, toilet and shower facilities are very well maintained, and there are flowering plants all around. The reception is now in a static caravan on the site, rather than calling at the bungalow as before, which gives a more organised impression.

Such a welcome! and having seen the photos from last year, this site has been hugely updated. High quality environment & facilities as well a caring thoughtful owner. We visited to go the the Harrogate Flower Show, came back to the van exhausted and sat outside in the sunshine with a cup of tea, listening to the birdsong & woodpecker tapping, bliss!
