As per previous reviews, we found it a pleasant enough stay at this site. - Actually, watching the kids play football was quite entertaining, they weren’t a problem but their parents could get a little carried away.
As a camping family, there is very little to do here for children but there’s plenty of wild-life to keep you entertained and it’s good for pets.
The new wardens couldn’t have been more helpful and went out of their way to advise on what to do or see around Jedburgh. Their recommendation of a local restaurant, the ‘Simply Scottish’ was good and it proved to be an interesting experience to try the local 'Haggis, Neaps, and Tatties'. The 10% discount offered to campers is for an evening meal only though. Incidentally there are two very good family butchers in the town, both of which do excellent meat and a selection of home made pies.
We only stayed for two nights, passing through so to speak, but there is plenty to see in the area which caters for all taste.
The shower and toilet block won the loo of the year award in 2007 which given its age was quite an achievement, (it’s getting a little past it’s sell-by-date in terms of modern day facilities offered at some sites). However, the flowers and works of art are a nice touch and it was clean.
An interesting and pleasant place to stay and we’d stop off again.

Just returned from 5 night stay.
Even though it has been wet and boggy in places, the facilities were clean and tidy, toilets and showers, laundry, washup facilities and chemical disposal. The site manager relocated us onto hard standing at no extra cost (Lucky there was one avalable).
The road to the football club does indead run through the site ans is a public right of way so the 5mph limit is difficult to inforce. The football ground did prove very useful for people when exercising the dogs off the lead.
Jedburgh is a 20 strole along the riverside to shops, restuarants and Take aways.
Visits to Jedburgh Castle & Cells was very interesting and free of charge (donation welcome). Or maybe the Woolen Mills across the road if its raining where not only clothing can be purchased but whiskey and they also do food.

This site is right next to the river and the cliff, therefore is long and thin with an unusual layout. The facilities were clean and tidy, toilets and showers, laundry, washup facilities and chemical disposal. The road to the football club runs through the site and I have to say we didn't observe much of the 5mph speed limit being adhered to. This might be an issue if you have children and are pitched next to the road. Jedburgh is a short walk away with good shopping, restuarants and fish and chips. Visits to Jedburgh Abbey, the Cheviot Hills or the last part of the Pennine Way are all handy. Or maybe the Whisky Shop across the road if its raining.

The last stop on our tour of Scotland before returning home. A pleasant site but a bit unusual in the way it's laid out. Showers and toilets as ever were clean and tidy, I expect nothing less from the Camping and Caravan Club! There is a road running down the side which leads to a local football club, the locals use this to gain access but there are no problems associated with it. You can hear them playing football in the evenings and accompanying bad language but it's easy to ignore. Hard standing available for us motor-homers and a good motor-home service point is provided and of course electric hook-ups. The town is a 15 min walk away and there is a nice riverside walk. Across the (busy) main road is the Jedburgh Woollen Mill and the Edinburgh Woolen Mill if you like that sort of thing. The Jedburgh Woollen Mill does whisky tasting! (hic). Jedburgh itself is a pleasant enough town with the Abbey and Jail being good places to visit - didn't explore the surrounding area as we were only there a short time. There is a large Co-Op in town so shopping is easy. Down side? Midges!

Not the biggest site I have been to and it does not have a kids play area. However it is the cleanest and best kept site I have been to, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived in pouring rain and the site manager helped out setting up the tent moving it to the right place with us to give us the best space. All pitches were a good 6m apart so plenty of room. The toilet and showers were excellent, always clean and no nasty smells.

We were booked on this site for 10 days but decided to stay the whole fortnight - we liked the site as it was very peaceful and had a good field beside it to exercise the dog - and there was loads to do in the area. As has been said, the toilets and showers were good and clean, if a bit old. There are hooks for hanging in the showers. As for the comment about the wood yard unloading, the yard is now closed and the site is very quiet. Our only complaint would possibly be that the units seemed a bit crammed in, possibly because the site is very open, but it is a C&CC site so presumably they were the correct distance apart.

August 2005 Georgina aged 7: there wasn't a playground but there was a big field you could play games on. Me and my friends made a den in some bushes at the side of the campsite and climbed some trees. I made lots of friends especially Holly and we made up games and played in my awning. Andy the manager made a treasure hunt for us which was very good and at the end you got a lolly. If you go there, take a ball, a bat, a football and a frisbee. Jonathan aged 38: a well kept site and very safe for children, make sure they have something to play with, they made their own entertainment and bikes and scooters were ideal. The tumble drier is rubbish, don't rely on it to dry your clothes within a 24hr peroid for under £10! We were at the other end from the woodyard so didn't hear any noise. Site is 1 mile walk along a pretty river path and there is a basic shell garage shop across the road. The managers are very friendly and the facilities are very clean.

May 2005 We stayed at this site over the 2nd May BH weekend. The owners were very friendly & as it was our 1st camping trip explained the rules & regulations to us. There is no play equipment for children but, there is a large field big enough to have a game of footy, cricket, frizbee or whatever. We were pitched at the opposite end of the site to the field so the younger childeren (age 3 & 5) couldn't make their own way there. The toilets & showers were clean & warm. My only complaint was that the wood mill (which the site backs directly onto) started work at around 6/6.30am on the Sunday! which as they unloaded the logs off the wagons couldn't help but wake you up. There were 3 separate families staying that weekend with 4 children between us (ranging fom 10-3yrs) & we all agreed a very pleasant site but not enough for the childeren to do & too much noise 1st thing. Other than that a great site.

July 2004 This site was clean and well maintained and the tent pitches are large and flat. The owners were very friendly and helpful. BUT the shower cubicles were very small - hardly larger than an ordinary toilet size with of course nowhere to put your stuff, only a small round plastic stool to carry into the cubicle and put behind the door; and the showers were at times too hot with no means to regulate the temperature. Perhaps I've become too fussy about the facilities over the years I've been camping! I liked the nearness of the site to Jedburgh itself - a nice little town with an abbey and jail well worth a visit - and the Jedburgh and Edinburgh Woollen Mills were across the road to stock up on clothes before leaving the site!
