Booked over the phone and sent a £20 deposit for 2 pitches. Arrived and there wasn't enough room to pitch the 2 folders plus awnings we had booked. The field was absolutely full of sheep sh1t in fact so much so there was no way we could have pitched the awnings. I went to have a look at the toilets which was one men's, one ladies and one disabled these were disgusting. The shower is just a shower tray in a dirty little room. We went and got our money back and left after less than 10 Min's on the site. If you have a caravan with your own toilet and shower and don't mind walking in sheep sh1t every time you step outside then this is the site for you! PS I didn't even ask for my deposit back as I don't believe I would have got!

Stayed there for my birthday, know the farmer quite well now have been many times. We live where there are a lot of sheep so it not strange to us, we like this farm a lot, wouldnt go anywhere else. To add a bit of bonus we met the Heartbeat team had a natter and got autographs, made our day.

We go every year without fail, sometimes two or three times. Got to know the owner could not wish to meet a nicer chap. We travel over 200 miles there and it is well worth it. If you want a nice quietn site, no formality, feel part of the surrounding countryside, and relax, then this is the place, brilliant.

Although this may be a basic site, it was good value for money, much less busy that the large corporation sites at Whitby and Scarborough. Plenty of space for the children to play and good amenities to use. We had a very relaxed week and will be returning again next year.

I was told by local residents that the neglected appearance is because this is the location for the place where Greengrass used to live in Heartbeat! We were put off by it too, especially the sheep as out terrier would have been driven demented wanting to chase them. The bottom field, where the caravans were, looked not too bad.

Arrived at the site on a sunny day got out of the car and the grass was soaking wet,ok they had rain the day before but it turned your feet green. We live in countryside but the smell was more than a farm smell it was like nothing you can imagine. Ok it was cheap £8 a night but the sheep where round your caravan and you were walking in sheep mess, there were people living on the site and their dogs were using site as toilet no one cleaned it up ,we have a dog but we always clean the mess up. The toilets were not cleaned all week no hot water for a wash in sinks ladies toilet sink was not fixed to wall 1 unisex shower, but we never used this or toilets. IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE but not one I will be repeating

I'm afraid the description of this campsite gives a false impression before you get there. Uncut grass, neglected caravans and constantly barking dogs make this campsite on the farm most uninviting. We arrived and left ten minutes later after we had a look round. Toilet block very basic. The upper field however where the tents were was much nicer.

Just had a few nights here, excellent site with excelent views of the moors. A few sheep roam in the tent field which was not over busy for school hols. There were two or three pitches which had a campfire spot, toilets and shower basic, £6 per night. will definatley return.
