 What can I say about this site. Stunning ! The weather was beautiful and the waters glisened.
We were unsure about what we would find when we arrived. We had spoken to Barry (camping marshall ) over the phone, who was very very helpful,We explained our Motorhome didn't self level & we didn't have blocks. No problem he said & found us a super flat pitch with superb views.
Hubby likes to fish & this place has 6 lakes. Slight problem though is that some of the lakes, though beautiful & well stocked are quite inaccessable due to over growth etc. Get there early to get a good pitch & do your homework.
The club house was lovely, plenty of seating outside to sit & admire the views & generally have a good laugh at the folks on the water.
There is a small bar area with large TV & seating, a small pool room & small restaurant. The food is basic but excellent & really good value for money. Only problem is they only serve until 5.00pm so don't expect a nice evening meal. The bar also shut quite early. We arrived for a drink at 9.30pm & it was shut. Most campers just stayed by their own vans.
Even though it was bank holiday you only paid for the nights you stayed, there was plenty of space & yes there were loads of big families without all the noise.
The toilet block in the field was not the best, but its only a 3 min walk to the club house. Free showers & electric in club house for hairdryers etc. Fab in summer not sure what it would be like in winter though. Will endeavour to give it a go.
