This is a lovely out of the way peaceful site. Norman will go out of his way to help you really enjoy your stay.
The pitches are separated by swathes of wildflowers, each having a fire pit. There are about 6 or 7 large pitches each with lovely views of the rolling countryside, pembrookshire coast and the local lighthouse flashing away in the background.
Norman will sell you massive pile of firewood for £9 and there is an axe to chop it down to smaller bits if need be.
There are 2 unisex loos, and 1 unisex shower in outside porterloo cabins, and Norman has opened up his downstairs bathroom with bath, shower and sink and loo too.
One thing, there isn't a sink for washing pots and pans, so make sure you take a bowl to do this at your tent!
Oh there's a tipi also that you can stay in if its available!
If you are looking to stay here you will need the OS map references from a previous reviewer - you wont find it otherwise! Its hidden up a 1/2 mile bumpety and rickety track perfect for 4x4's, but my citroen did ok :-)
Only about 25 min drive from St Davids (lovely food in the bench restaurant!). On the doorstep to the pembrookeshire coastal footpaths - stunning is the only word to describe this place.
PorthGain has the lovely Sloop Inn, seafood restaurant and local shop that sells local lobster and carb, and Abercasle sells Lobsters on a Sunday too
It's about a 25 min walk to the Ship Inn in Trefin - nice food, nice beer and if your lucky some live entertainment too!
If your lucky you may even spot a badger or barn owl on your walk on the way back to the tent.
If you stay here - enjoy, its lovely

We loved this site. Norman is friendly and laid back, there is a proper bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle, a further outside shower cubicle and portaloo all of which were spotless. There is also use of a fridge / freezer. The views are excellent and there is nothing better than having a bag of logs and a bottle of wine and just sitting peacefully. It has a tranquillity not often found and we can't wait to go back again. Sadly our tent leaked and so we need to get another before we can or perhaps we will try to tipi.

This is a unique site in an outstandingly beautiful part of the Dyfed coast. It suits us that only good map readers find it! It's quiet, you'll see many wild animals in this kind of country, and there's a fantastic view and great walks as well. There are many different kinds of beaches and watersports in the area. The Fishguard/Rosslare ferry is handy at Gwdig, and there's local taxis if you're hiking in the dark or returning from a night out.
The owner, ( diolch yn fawr, Norman! ) is particular about cleanliness and so facilities are spotless. Last visit we could use the washing machine and dryer in a stone buiding near the house. Also a small play area for the twins. Soon we'll inspect new things mentioned in recent reviews! There's a good inconspicuous back-up team, I think.
After 8 wks Winter rain, the first bit of the access, (not hilly,) would test a driver without front/FWD. But I don't think Trefin village is ever flooded for long, it's all well above sea level, and Norman's land itself is well-drained and never had floods. And remember, there's nowhere like Wales when the sun is shining, and come rain, come shine, the Welsh will be singing:
Gwlad! Gwlad! Pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad.
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau!

The previous reviewer has it spot on. This is a lovely site for getting away from it all. It’s situated a good way from any road or built up area and the views are of the sea and fields, and at night the beam from Strumble head lighthouse can be seen gently strobing in the distance. Several footpaths come near to the site and the walk across the fields to Abercastle beach takes around 15-20mins.
The lane is the only downside to this site, as it’s quite long and rutted so you don’t want to be driving in and out more than you have to. However I cycled into the village (which has a delightful shop crammed full of campers’ essentials) and found that very quick and easy. The lane just added to the solitude for us.
The pitches (about 5, but only 2 others were filled during our stay) are varied as this is essentially like staying in someone’s very large garden/grounds. We stayed on one behind the house which had banks and really was a smashing spot – protected, but with views. The ones in front of the house are more open. I think all had firepits and good wood was for sale at £5 a basket. Plenty of taps about the site. There are 2 smart portaloos and some recycling facilities/bins inside a little wooden enclosure and then a normal domestic bathroom for use inside the main house. That was bit different from other sites I’ve visited but worked really well.
The owner was very chatty and helpful if you bumped into him, but we weren’t aware of him most of the time and he didn’t do the ‘evening round’ (which I find a pain on other sites), so a big thumbs up and thanks for letting us find our own space and sharing this magic location!

This review assumes that if you're looking at this site you're already considering Pembrokeshire and you know something of its beauty and the unpredicable nature of its weather.
We camped as two families with kids aged 3 to 6.
The site had a perfect balance of enough facilities to keep us clean without feeling like a package holiday. The separate plots helped us feel that the kids were not being disturbed at night and that they weren't disturbing others in the morning. The remote location between working farmland gave us plenty of opportunities to appreciate the views, the plants, wildlife and the stars. On the one night we did take the walk to the pub in Trefin we got the chance to see the Milky Way on a cloudless walk home and then surprised a badger less than 10 metres away without the torch on.
Lighting fires each night was brilliant.

Really nice spot! This is a quiet setting in a moderate size field. The owner, Norman, has restored the house from being derelict. Apparently he used to keep sheep but got fed up with them and switched to humans!
The site is spacious and comfortably takes the 5 or so pitches (which are big enough for several small tents as a group). There are campfire facilities and he sells wood at very reasonable prices. There is a tap at most pitches.
Toilets x3 and a single (hot, free) shower inside in the main house. The overall feel of this site (and not in a bad way!) is about camping in his garden and using his guest facilities. Its nice and relaxing. He also has a tipi to rent.
The views are lovely onto wheat fields and down on to the coast and cliffs.
Downsides?
1) No sign to the site (and not on the OS map either!). To get there take this track.

The track is long, narrow and very bumpy. I was relieved that I was using my old car and not my brand new one! (It will however quite happily take a standard 2 wheel drive).
The only other downside for me was that because it is a fair walk out of the village (along a VERY dark, bumpy track) it doesn't really encourage a night time pub-trip.
Other than that - a really lovely, quiet spot with no caravans, campers or big groups. Thanks Norman!
