This site is possibly going to close after the 2008 season. Please do not shut it and turn it into a croquet lawn! We stayed here for 3 nights with some friends. We were met by the friendly warden, who showed us to our pitch he was a very helpful man. Grass and site was well maintained. EHU was available if you wanted it. Water and rubbish collection points in various places around the site. The shower block was old, but clean.
In the ladies there were about 10 toilets and 2 showers with about 8 sinks. There was 2 sinks for washing up/laundry. Water waste disposal etc just along from the shower block. Our boys really enjoyed it and would come back again. For the campers the pool was free after 3pm, so you could get 3 hours of swimming in. No shop, but a small cafe for ice creams, chips etc.
Woodhall Spa village 10 minute walk to the shops. We will be going back again (if they keep it open and not make it into a croquet lawn!)

A group of us went for a weekend, met by the friendly wardens. Toilets and shower block old but very clean. Grass and pitches well maintained, dont forget to visit the (Kinama) in the woods
Heated outdoor swimming pool, prices now are very reasonable, will be coming back here again.

Ok, what can I say about this site? Well. We arrived and it was absolutly packed (bank holiday) we even found that 1 pitch had 4 tents on it. The toilets were ok but 2 showers are not sufficient for a packed site and for £22 a night which is very expensive, there was no shop or club house. The only things available was a cafe and a pool and a children's play area and the pool wasn't free. If you don't want a site with everything packed on it, then this is the ideal site as it was very peaceful (once everyone's packed up to miss the bank holiday traffic). The night time lighting is poor, but apart from that we had no problems. The site manager was extreemly friendly and couldn't fault him. I do advise that if you are going away bank holiday to take plenty of food as there is only a selection of shops that only open Sunday hours. Other days of the week its fine.

A large party of us visited last weekend, it was really nice. We took a large grassed hedged off area for us all and parked around the outside and set up cooking etc in the middle. Most used electric hookups. Certain kids within our group got a bit too noisy in the evenings but we received no complaints in fact seemed to attract other peoples children and we settled them all down by 10pm to relax and have 'adult time'. It was a really casual relaxed weekend, no rush to vacate pitches on the Sunday. The facilities are basic and I tended to use showers at the pool. We will be visiting again next year. Some of the earlier arrivals did have a few problems with the warden reading the riot act but he was only doing his job and after assisting them to pitch cleared off and left us to it. There is plenty to do in the area and a few of us had a really good cycle ride as the roads are nice and flat!

Very relaxed site, loads of room and has a less regimented/formal feel than other campsites. Only 2 showers in the male toilet/shower block (cant comment on the female ones) toilet block is dated but kept clean. Plenty of room to walk dogs, interesting local history.

Now the important bit .THE FISHING! There is no fishing on site and the chaps in charge aren't fishermen so are of limited help. I discovered a lovely fishery. Turn right out of the camp, to the roundabout in Woodhall spa, straight across and keep going for a few miles. On your right you will go passed camp Thorpe which has the old plane outside (its a Lightning) **on Sundays they let you in from 2pm** Ayway carry on and on the left there is a little church, (there is a small sign saying Bain Valley Fisheries) turn left there follow the road down and then turn right at the end into the farm. Pay at the house and then away you go. Hurricane lake for pleasure, Halifax for bigger carp

Lovely location and a lovely site. Toilet block very dated, cold and dark. Very expensive! Especially for a council run site! Still a good Easter, considering everywhere else was full! Staff very helpful. Just wanted to warn you about the toilet block really!

Super friendly staff, noisy neighbours spoilt one night but the rest of the week we camped here were nice and peaceful. Lovely on site open air heated swimming pool.Toilet block was usualy nice and clean with lovely warm (free)showers. There is also a useful laundry/washing up room. Free electric hook-up! No on site shop but town is 10 min walk so not so bad. Great safe family site-will use again!

Stayed one night just to try the new dome tent out - campsite was local to parents home so handy for us. The local lido is on-site and very popular with a heated (very warm)outdoor pool and a large paddling area for the non-swimming kids - there is also a cafe and picnic area in the lido so you can stay all day.

Local authority run site with some EHUs and a reasonable ablutions block with a security code. Town centre of W/hall Spa very close by with Pubs and shops - Very quiet at night and some courtesy lighting strategically placed.

Will visit again for longer next time and with the trailer tent.
