Having used this Site for my first ever break away in a touring caravan in 1978 when I was 20 years of age I have continued to use it, elevating from a Tourer to a Static. My mother, my sister and I all owned Statics on this Site when it was Haven Warners. Over the years we spent there, between us we actually swapped and changed our 'vans to the extent of a total of 16 Static Caravans. And boy oh boy, were we ripped off. We all left the Site and carried on doing our own things.
However, I digress, after the Static my partner and I decided to take up Touring again and our first Port of Call was Beacon Fell. What a difference since Haven sold out. The Site was run down, litter everywhere, toilet facilities were dreadful. We vowed that we would not return.
But we went back in August for a long weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the Site has made a come back. The Staff are fantastic and go out of there way to help you. Yes, there is noise at all times, but it is a FAMILY Site, what else can you expect? I do agree with several comments made about dog fowling, (Come on dog Owners-don;t let the side down) all you need is a scoop bag.
I have to totally disagree with a comment made by AHITON in the review where he/she says that they could not find many places to take a walk. What???? Beacon Fell Caravan Park is situated in the midst of the most glorious countryside that Lancashire has to offer, you have merely got to go to the Site Entrance and turn either left or right and you will have all the walks that your heart could desire.
Tenters, ever heard of obtaining pegs which are specifically made for hard ground?
I am so satisfied with this Site that I have booked again for the end of this month, along with a further 8 members of my family and friends.
Beacon Fell Caravan Site is a Site for Families.

Just came back from the site and thought the site was marvellous. Good pool.Sauna, kids loved the play area, club n pub all good.Showers and loos fine too. Felt very at ease and safe. Very tidy site too with friendly folk. So we will be going back definitely. To sum up it was a very family friendly site in a pleasant surrounding
And is highly recommended.Nearby there plenty of restaurants and other shops should you require anything. Plenty of scenic walks too.Not that we did any like !

We stayed here for 1 night after, we used to stay often many years ago and decided to give it a go. What a site this is how camping should be.Clean toilets/showers/pot wash. Clean site, good lighting a warden patroling (but not moaning),great park, and clubhouse(75p for 2 hrs in the wacky)and the best swimming pool with a sauna in.This is by far the best site we have stayed on only down side is £27 per night is slightly expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for! plus probley not good for disabled access for people with prams has steep steps down to facilities. We cant wait to return to this site, this is not camping but glamping!

Stayed here for 4 nights mid august, decent pitch, hard standing but a bit on the slopey side, could do with a steam roller. Good views if you get the top tier pitch no in the 80's, see over all the hills & reservoir. Easy access to water, but had to trek down to the chemical loo to dispose of grey waste. You can see they are spending money as there a loads of empty static spaces were old vans must have been. Some grassy areas need a tidy, but you can't have everything
Good points
Reception very helpful, even let me stay all day for free on day of departure,
Pub open from 12-12 all season, entertainment also in club house, child friendly with pool & table tennis in the club, without distracting entertainment, big screen tv's for footy fans all over.
Food outlet open from 8am for breakfasts all the way through till 12.30 am On Saturday, along with convenience store on site, that was also open all day till 12am at night. Excellent camp shop on there that sells everything you need for camping /caravanning,catches on one of my cupboards went so what a god send :-)
Pool was a good size ,small gym at reception for the healthy types & a brilliant sauna, well worth a visit. Walk down the road to all pubs & food places etc.
All in very good stay, will return again,

Stayed there for a week with 4 kids they enjoyed every minute. The pool was warm, the sauna was even warmer, the toilets clean, showers hot and staff very friendly. Going to book a seasonal pitch here, very good site. On the down side £1.20 for a can of coke in the bar, a bit extreme but then you can't have it all can you?

Just returned from a weekend at Beacon Fell. I feel that some of the previous reviews are a little unfair. I have visited this site several times over the last 10 years and have seen some changes. They have invested in the site in a positive way and I think that credit should be given were it is due.
The reception area and new clubhouse are lovely, its all new and even though we were there out of season they still had music on for the kids and a game of bingo. The staff are very friendly and the site itself has a nice friendly atmosphere. The touring pitches were all being dug up to improve them by putting gravel in for drainage, word of warning! if your van is a large twin axle like ours then make sure you tell them when you book as most of the pitches only take vans up to 24ft in total! it is also a tight squeeze for moving about, however, the views from the top level are nice looking out over the reservoirs, especially since the trees have been cut down. The toilet and shower blocks are nice and clean and you need a key for entrance, they didn't charge us a deposit maybe because it is low season? The pool was lovely and warm and clean with a sauna. The improvements that still need to be made are:
The children's play area needs a revamp and the rubbish that is dumped near there should be removed, it looks like a tip. Some areas of the site let it down, the seasonal touring pitches are horrendous and look like a gypsy site, this lets the site down and if I was paying all that money for a seasonal pitch I wouldn't put it there! There were lots of dogs on site and even though I like dogs I stood in muck several times which didn't go down too well, come on dog owners, clean up your mess! and keep them on leads! This is a nice site for a weekend and is easy to get to as long as you don't follow the signs for Beacon Fell country Park! The road leading to the site can be tricky due to parked cars on one side.
With a little more TLC this site could be really good and since Haven owned it is has improved, however, it still needs some work which could put people off going again.

Stayed in brother in laws static. Watch out on the one way system as not everyone sticks by it. Kids loved site and I felt safe in leaving them to their own devices. Pool was great and relaxing. Didn't eat at small food outlet, could have done with a purpose built cafe. Kids entertainment use to run over so we didnt go out till late. Found the drinks very pricey and the entertainment was usual fare, though the entertainment room was completed and very nice. The caravan I stayed in was away from the noise of the club and found my stay to be really quiet. Never used the camp shop as there was a Somerfields store close by in longridge. Found the grass and surrounding areas were well maintained. Would I stay again? yes

Just had a lovely weekend at this site. Yes the showers were hot (but better than being cold!). Pitches are on the small side but most campsites these days are but big enough for caravan, awning and to sit outside, what more do you want. A very friendly site. Pool lovely, bar very reasonably priced. Definitely go there again.

Last week we arrived at this site at 6. 30pm in the pouring rain on our bicycles. I had checked out the park on the web and they took tents and had a bar and restaurant because I knew we might not be close to such facilities. When we got there reception was closed, the shop was closed and the bar was closed. On the advice of a resident we pitched the tent, got ourselves changed and went to the bar to check in. The barmaid had to phone the manager (from another room) and then came back and rather sheepishly asked us for £23. 90 for the privilege of staying one night in a small two person tent. AND THEY WERE NOT DOING FOOD! They also wanted a Ù5 deposit for the toilet key. The site was scruffy and badly signposted but to be fair, one of the staff did offer us a lift into Longridge so that we could get some food, thanks Baz.
We mentioned this story to many people over the weekend, including the owner of another large holiday park, without exception everybody was apalled at what they charged us.

I have previously submitted a review for this site which we have vistited approx 4 times now. Previously my reviews have been positive however, on this visit it is not to be the case. We have just returned home from a 3 night stay here and it is now possibly the worst site we have ever stayed at. Firstly on arrival we were given our entertainments schedule but due to the amount of building work going on around the bar complex this was extremely limited or non existant at times. We went to find our pitch and after dodging the piles of dog dirt and swerving around the over flowing bins we reached it. We had booked a touring pitch as we knew we got a bit more room than in the tent field, the touring pitches do have elec. Hook up. The building work is still going on nearby and the noise is awful. On two of our nights we were kept awake by late night parties in nearby units. The toilet block is kept very clean but they still have the key entry system which is still a pain!
The site seems now to have been over run by CHAVS. They took over the park area so we didnt let the kids go to it. Loose dogs wondering into our tent wasnt fun either. The bar is very expensive. The bar staff are friendly though. The snack bar is handy as is the little on site shop. Longridge village nearby is very nice with a couple of supermarkets.
The positives we took from this site are limited. The pool is still clean and didnt get over crowded. The weather was fantastic and the quarry nearby is great for rock climbing! Sadly, we will not be visiting this site again.
