Just returned from a 2 night stay at Lochside and can only agree totally with previous comments. A lovely clean site with warm toilet and showering facilities. An under cover washing up area and always HOT water. An ice cream van visited the site when we were there as did the van previously mentioned. Great park for our 2 boys (aged 5 & 7 years), plenty to do at leisure centre, pitch and putt, crazy putting, tennis and more. The walk round the Loch is lovely especially if you get a hot sunny day ( I know this rarely happens!), Would recommend this site for families, as there is a strict rule about noise after 11pm, which we appreciate. Aldi and Lidl only a 5 minute walk from site to stock up. Great site and would return. Just a quick note site only accepts cash or cheques, no debit or credit cards.

Stayed overnight, another trial run out with the TT. Would agree with the previous reviews. Warders really friendly, which is always a plus. The site was quiet and well maintained. Toilet block was lovely and warm, clean, plenty of toilets, there were 4 showers. In the toilet area, cloths for each wash hand basin (to clean up any mess) and a mop in the showers were provided. EHU and water supply on the pitch.
Kids play area kept our three occupied, 5 and 7 year olds. Park is just over a wooden fence could keep an eye on them from our pitch.
Will be going back soon. The park gets fully booked over the coming months, so best to book well in advance.

We've just returned from a weekend at this site and would agree with other reviewers that it is well kept, clean and the owners are helpful. There was a key for the toilet / laundry / information area. The play area one of the best I've seen on campsites and is particularly suitable for younger children.
Having the loch alongside the park is great and a few ducks came to visit us! We paid £14 per night - that was with no ehu. Although no shop on site there is a van that comes every morning (about nineish?) with newspapers etc but it's only 5 mins walk to Forfar high street.
At first when we phoned and said we had an 8-man tent they said they didn't take 8-man tents anymore! However seeing as it was just for a weekend they agreed to take us. On arrival they asked what kind of tent it was (it's a tunnel tent) and said they'd had problems the year before with 'spider-shaped' tents and not being able to fit many in the tent area.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay here.

Just returned from a two night stay here. The site seemed to be at full capacity. The hard standing EHU sites were full so we were situated on the neatly cut grass along with the tents. The wardens were helpful. The toilet block containing at least 8 toilets was spotlessly clean. There are four ladies showers which got busy only at peak time around 9am when you had a short wait. There is everything you need on site.an iron and ironing board which works with 20p, also a washing machine and tumble dryer. Dishwashing room and waste disposal on site too. Lots of literature for things to do. Despite the site being full there was no rowdy noise. The loch is situated just outside the back gate of site and is a 2 1/2 mile walk around.Very scenic. Also just outside the park gate is a kiddies playpark and also leisure centre. The shopping town of Forfar is a 5 min walk away. Plenty shops including good chippie. I can highly recommend and will most definitely be returning to this site.

We have visited here four times now and are returning in a week's time. We stayed for the long Easter weekend and as usual were made very welcome. The helpful wardens on site assisted in setting up, and showed a genuine interest in us (they had trouble trying to identify my caravan!) The fees are more than reasonable, £12.00 for everything and I also had mains water hook-up. I've paid in excess of £25.00 for less. Great almost level pitches, well kept grass, good access road all set next to Forfar Loch. There is a football pitch close by where local youth matches are held, and another at the social club next door where the local amateur team plays. The members of the social club are usually more than happy to sign you in, and the drink is social club cheap! Walking around the loch takes about an hour (it is easily cycle and wheelchair accessible too) and takes you past the football pitch, then two rugby pitches and finally a cricket ground. Dogs are welcome too, except in the large children's play area. There generally seems to be a good crowd here too, no rowdies, and this may be due to the fact that there is no clubhouse on site. Whatever the reason, there has never been any bother at all when we've stayed, and my nine year old boy always makes pals. The town is next door, with a choice of small local shops and also large stores, such as Aldi, Lidl and Tesco. We were staying once for the town Gala Day and thoroughly enjoyed it too. The reception has a free book exchange and lots of information regarding things to do and see, places to go, walks etc. Definitely well worth a visit.

We stay here quite regularly, never had any problems. There's a children's play park. Nice walk round the loch. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Toilets are clean and tidy. Quite good for shopping in the town.

Wonderful site, friendly and helpful wardens, they seem to be always on the go. They keep everyone in order in the most tactful and pleasant way. The toilet /shower block is probably the cleanest we've seen. The site is flat and only 5/10 minutes away from the town centre with all the shops, takeaways and pubs, etc. The wardens put a lot of effort in and it shows. The only minor complaint is the morning bakers van - good for buns and rolls etc. , not so good for lazy long lies! We will definitely use many times again.

This was my first visit to Lochside and upon visiting with several mates - five vans in all - I have to say that it wont be our last. A lovely site close to the town (5 minutes from the town centre.) Plenty room between vans, lovely well kept grass, next to Forfar loch(a lovely hour long walk) right round. The toilets and showers were about the cleanest and well kept I have seen for a long time. One final thanks has to go to the warden and his wife (obviously caravanners themselves) who simply could not do enough on our arrival, checking us in, helping to site every van and generally pleasant and helpful throughout the weekend. Looking forward to a return visit later in the year.

We arrived at approx 17:00 on the Friday evening took two minutes to book in. Cost was £12:00 per night this included EHU and Awning. The warden showed us to our pitch and help to level the van. we were only here for the two nights but found it very quiet and peaceful, except at around two in the morning some local neds decided to bang on a couple of caravans. but were soon chased off, I wouldn't let that put me of this site though.
There is a van that turns up in the morning with milk rolls and news papers. There are plenty of shops in the surrounding area within a five minute walk, Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, somerfields etc. The toilet and shower area are spotless, this is a well maintained site and we will definitely return.

As the name suggests this caravan park is next to Forfar Loch. This site is maintained by the local council and is kept to a very high standard.
The site is also in the middle of Forfar which means you can walk to the shops and back for your morning rolls and papers.
We enjoyed our weekend here and will most definitely be returning to this site.
There is an excellent walk all the way round the lock which is wheelchair accessible. The facility block has excellent clean and tidy toilets and showers. There is a properly fitted out toilet and shower for disabled visitors and the staff are extremely helpful. On the Saturday afternoon we even watched a cricket match.
The Forfar Sports centre is right beside the site and there is also a very large play park for the kids. A nice relaxing break.
