Just spent 5 nights on site - lovely, new, clean, level, good size pitches, can not fault the site and layout, toilet block in the middle, plenty of water and waste points.

The lake is just outside the gates, down a slope, plenty of Swans, Canadian Geese and Ducks (protective over their eggs) understandable. Nice playpark for children.

Stavely can be walked or cycled to by a path at the site entrance that comes out behind the leisure centre - across from Morrisons. Stavely is being improved, but it is a bit rough, there where shop lifters being brought out of Morrisons as we went in.

Chesterfield is a nice place, lovely shopping square (monday main market), found the roads busy, so go early, as the day went on the car park spaces where like hen's teeth.

Newark is a nice place, good shopping, river walk and Brownhills Motorcaravan Centre.

Derbyshire is is nice place, lots of places to visit. Enjoy

Good site and the regeneration of the mining area gives great hope. Obviously it'll be a few years before the trees mature and hide the local industry.

Typical Caravan Club site with toilet blocks so clean you could eat off the floor.

Must plug the local micro-brewery - Squires Brewery - which is on the industrial estate by the site. Great people and lovely bottle conditioned beers - enjoy and revel in the lack of beer miles !

This is a nice liitle site, very clean and tidy as you would expect from a cc site, hard standing, grass and serviced pitches available, all pitches lookes really big, plenty of room for a large tourer awning and car. Just off the site near the entrance is a cafe that opens wed to sun, prices are reasonable as well, also a kids enclosed play area that over looks the lake. There is a swimming baths, supermarket a couple of pubs and a few other little shops within easy access, would take about 15-20 mins on foot or a short drive in the car.Ask at reception for directions. You would get lost if I were to give you them.!(ive no sence of direction).

This site is very peaceful, will I go again. Yes yes yes,

This is a brand new caravan club site with the facilities you would expect from the club. The toilet block is large and airy, with plenty of showers and toilets and a baby and toddler wash room for the under 4's.

The site is mainly hardstandings with a few grass pitches in between. It is well laid out and the pitches are level and very spacious.

Attractions nearby include the park within which the site is situated. Our 2 young boys enjoyed cycling around the lake and playing on the playground. There is no play area on site but it is only a short stroll down to the park itself.

The trans pennine way also passes right by the site, ideal for cycling or walking. The Peak District is nearby and there are lots of houses and gardens etc to visit. We went to Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House during our visit.

There is a Morrisons which is only a short drive or walk away from site.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this site and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a new club site in the Caravan Club portfolio and was opened in March 2008. Once the site of a colliery, the land has been transformed into a lovely Country Park with a Visitor Centre, café and children's adventure play area. The site is an integral part of the Country Park and is well secured with barriers. It incorporates a number of sustainable resource and energy features. There are fishing lakes and extensive trails for cyclists and walkers.

Covering 5 acres the site has 86 pitches, mostly hardstandings, a great toilet block, and we recommend it heartily. Caravan Club members only are admitted.

The surrounding area is interesting and attractive - try Chesterfield for instance. Staveley is being refurbished from a rather run down mining town to a modern and vibrant shopping centre with restaurants, pubs, supermarkets etc.

This site is all new this year and it shows, pitches are grass or hard standings with some being all service, it's clean bright and the toilet/shower facilities are lovely. There is a lovely new laundry room, made me wish I had some washing to do!

The surroundings are great with walks all around the site and the country park right on the doorstep, also walks around the lake or just sit back take in the views and watch the wildlife or the people fishing. Dogs on leads only around the lake. There is a cafe too.

The area is good for cycling too the cycle path (disused railway) leads you right into chestefield. Which is a nice town and good for shopping.

It will be even better when some of the shrubbery and trees have matured.

We thought as it was an eco friendly site it would have some information and pictures explaining some of this but we didn't see any which was a shame.

It's a lovely site which has a nice quiet relaxing feel to it, we will visit again even though it is one of the caravan clubs most expensive sites.
