We've just spent the last 5 days at Grooby's Pit for the first time and have returned home feeling relaxed and pleased that we have found a gem of a fishing caravan site.
The owners, Tracey and Neil, run a very professional, efficient and successful business but with a personal approach that makes you feel like you're a friend coming to stay.
We came for the fishing and despite a thunderstorm one night, several types of fish were caught including carp, bream and perch.
The layout of the fishing pegs is well thought out and the toilet/shower block is exceptional.
The gift of a freshly laid egg each from Tracey was a lovely touch, and we look forward to returning by the end of the year for another fishing weekend.

Just back from a weekend away stayed here and had a great time, not only are Tracy and Neil good host they will help you out with anything you need.
Local town is two miles away and is a great place to get the things you have forgotten ie firelight for the fire pit by the pod.
We stayed in the pod and it was beyond what we thought it could be, was very dark at night so could get a good night sleep, for a full day of fishing, the campsite is clean and tidy, seem everyone who stays there has the same idea relax, chill and fish.
The fishing is excellent and you will be pulling them out all day long.
We will be back for sure.

Visited this site for a 2 night break.
Good correspondence from owners Tracy & Neil prior to arrival with clear instructions on which roads were suitable for use by caravans.
Warm welcome & shown to pitch. Lovely peaceful site, Well maintained.
Lovely views of fishing lake.
Toilet block very clean & modern.
Geese, chickens & ducks wandering by our caravan.
Short car journey to supermarket for essentials.
Would highly recommend this site, one of the best sites we have visited.

Returned from yet another fantastic stay at Groobys pit.
This is our forth time returning, we've seen the place go from strength to strength from impeccable improvements and the cleanliness is beyond what anyone could expect, every toilet/shower visit felt like I was in a brand new facility.
The new pod we stayed in was excellent and catered for all we needed and was very comfortable, not forgetting to mention how beautifully crafted and finished it was.
Most importantly the fishing as usual was brilliant, this two day fishing bringing myself 29 bream, 3 good size carp and many roach. All fish being in optimum condition.
I cannot rave about this place enough, I always feel welcomed and blessed to have found this gem of a place and will continue to visit for many years more.
Thanks Tracy and Neil.
Can't wait to see what's changed next year!
All the best
Sonja and Amanda

Groobys Pit. We're here until tomorrow and will be sad to leave. Really nice, very welcoming place. Hosts couldn't be better. Extremely tidy & well looked after. Fishing is excellent! No day tickets so you have so many pegs to choose from. We will be back for sure. I'm sure everyone who comes here will be truly impressed. Brin & Jillian

Lovely site, we had a very warm welcome and were given some eggs from the owners chickens, ducks, and geese. The toilet block was kept clean and the washing up area was perfect. My husband went fishing and caught some good size fish even though it was very cold and windy. Short ride into Skegness, Boston and lots of small fen towns. We will be going back soon.

Just returned from a week at Groobys Pit. Really enjoyable. We were greeted by Tracy who was a lovely bubbly, happy lady. Really helpful fully explaining their set up. She presented us with a selection of duck and chickens eggs which were well received. After giving us written information about the site and the local area we were shown to our pitch which had a clear view across the lake. We were offered help should we have any difficulties reversing and pitching (not required) but how helpful. The site is quiet and rural but only a short drive to Skegness and nearby villages. Excellent showers and toilets. Neil and Tracy are friendly, helpful people who are rightly proud of their site. A great week.

This is a great little site very quite and flat, On arrival we were met by one of the owners Tracy, she welcomed us and gave us a box of eggs, it contained 1 goose egg 1 duck egg and 4 hen eggs all laid in the last two days Tracy said, and all these birds wander the site each day, our pitch was hard standing with water and electric, and Tracy asked us to run our grey water to the bushes. The men's toilet/shower block was very clean but cold, it contained 2 toilets 2 large showers (push button type) and 2 wash basin's. The nearest open pub was 1mile away, but it was nice and did good priced food, their isn't a bus stop, however if you want to go to Skegness let Tracy know the night before the time you want to go and return, and she will book the local mini bus service to take you, it collects you at the gate and drops you back, you can use a bus pass, or it cost £4. 50 return when we went. We didn't give enough notice the first time we tried to book it, but so that we were not disappointed Tracy's husband Neil took us in his car and didn't charge, now that's what I call going the extra mile.
There is a nice lake on site, however if you have a disability it may be hard to get down the few steps to fish. All in all a great site with really nice owners, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did, we will go back.
