We stayed last weekend in March.

We had booked onto another site and it was terrible ( nothing to do with this site may I add ) we contacted groobys pit in a last minute rush as we had no where to stay as the site we had booked onto was way below our standards to say the least. We where asked to go to meet the owners to see if they could help. Thank goodness they could. They had no standard pitch but never the less they put us onto their own private road and they really bent over backwards to help us.

The owners did every thing they could to make us welcome. We felt very at ease on their site. The owner had rules which where followed by all guests and rightly so as the site was immaculate and there was a fishing pond that was central to the park. Very nice relaxing place.

The owners where friendly at all times and nothing was a bother to them wonderful people who had a passion for what they provided. The toilet and shower block weren't the most modern but they where certainly the cleanest they where cleaned to a very high standard the one thing that I would say is that they could do with a little heating installed as they could be drafty and cold when showering. But this campsite is still well worth the money and definitely worth visiting. Can not thank the owners enough for putting us up and even allowing us to stay a extra night until a windy storm passed. Thank you so much

Kind regards John craig and Jackie x

Enjoyed three nights at Grooby's Pit in January. We were met by Tracy who was very welcoming and informative. We chose this site due to the description and excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. However, due to the time of year the pubs within walking distance were closed but we made good use of The Woolpack in nearby Wainfleet, which was very friendly and served excellent food and drink. Skegness isn't too far away and it was pleasant due to the time of year as were able to take our dog on the beach. The lovely village of Burgh le Marsh is also just a short drive away and worth a visit. Facilities back at Grooby's were excellent with immaculate and very modern toilets and showers. It is a totally relaxing campsite and we loved our regular visits by the geese, hens and ducks. Fishing was excellent. Tracy and Neil are a great couple and we look forward to returning in the Spring.

What a fabulous find. Nestled away in beautiful countryside this peaceful gem of a caravan site. Easy but secure access and very well kept grounds and lake. Lovely modern facilities, always clean and oodles of HOT water. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately we don't fish but talking to the fishermen on site they were very happy with the lake and peg locations. Nice local pubs in walking distance and shops, restaurants and attractions only a short car ride away. We'll definitely be returning soon and be recommending this site to all our friends. Well done Groobys.

We found this site on the uk. Campsite excited because we had bought our very first motorhome named babetoo. We arrived in the darkness that is winter just in time (teatime)for our first experience of a lincolnshire hurricaine. Torrential rain, tornado force winds and temperatures to make a polar bear reach for a heater. We haven`t camped before and quite frankly we didn`t have a clue how to set up our motorhome for the first time, what an experience. Overnight winds tried to upturn our motorhome and torrential rain made sure only one of us got a good nights sleep. But when we woke in the morning oh my god what a beautiful setting for us. We were parked facing a lake within 2 yards with swans and ducks and complete tranquility. Enough to take your breath away. Toilet blocks were clean and we were made to feel very welcome. We visited skegness which appeared closed because of the time of year and weather but was beautiful. Windy. Very cold. Fish and chips were rubbish compared to bridlington but welcome in the cold. We cannot fault this site because it was beautifully kept, tranquil and the owners made us feel very welcome and were very helpful the following morning when we were attampting to fill our van with water. Would come to this site again

We were let down somewhere else, it was getting late and dark so we had a quick search and called Groobys. Luckily for us the owners weren't far away and said we were welcome to stay.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our pitch, Tracy was very helpful and called the local pub to make sure they were opening and serving food (end of season). The toilets/showers spotless and modern.

The owners were great and we couldn't have asked for more. Would definitely recommend.

Fourth time at groobys pit and the 5 star standards are still on show. We had two caravans in our party who all fished and caught plenty all week long. The site and showers are immaculate as usual. Good local pub around the corner and nice dog walks along the nearby river bank. This site has a lovely countryside feel to it yet not far from wainfleet spilsby or Skegness so a big thankyou to neil and tracey for all their hard work (we will be back)

Well, what can we say! Brilliant! Absolutely fantastic, out of all the places I've camped, this has been the best experience so far. Tracey and Neil are so nice, you feel so welcome and at home, both so very helpful and will drop whatever they are doing to help. (Thanks Neil for helping me when we had no light)

Great welcome pack with details of walks, pubs, shops, takeaways etc. Was given some free eggs by Tracey, and some tomatoes and a cucumber all home grown.

Some lovely walks and bike rides, nice river and quiet roads.

The site is peaceful, quiet and very tranquil. All pitches over look the lake, very well lit and a very friendly atmosphere. Although I didn't fish, but wish I had, the lake was very nice, well kept, well thought about swims, some hard standing and some grass. Very well stocked and see some lovely fish being caught, and lots of them. We sat round the lake in the evening to watch the sun set. Can't wait to go back.

The toilet block is very well maintained, fresh, clean, warm and cosy. I've stayed in hotels that didn't have toilets and showers as nice as these.

Would recommend to any one and have done so already, will 100% be returning, and definitely fishing next time. The pod looks nice so planning a weekend in that.

Thanks again Tracey and Neil.

What a delightful site, with friendly helpful owners. Tracey met us with eggs and a welcome pack and gave us a choice of two pitches. Toilet facilities spotless. Adults only, so plenty of peace and watching wildlife. Good local pub, and quiet roads around excellent for cycling. A gem of a site, good value for money, a very enjoyable couple of days.

This was our first stay. We found it to be a lovely well kept and well managed site. We were met by Tracy who had a lovely warm smile and she gave us a welcome pack with some lovely fresh laid eggs. This site is a credit to Tracy & Neil as everything you need is here. The peace and quite. There is a added bonus they have a barrier for your security so you no that your caravan or motor-home would be safe. The showers and toilets are very very clean. Its a site to keep in mind. You are not far from the coast. Just leaves me to say thank you Tracy & Neil for making our stay a very nice one.
