This has now become our Brecon Beacons site of choice.
The site is rather larger than suggested with a total of four possible fields to choose from. The lower, largest. Field borders onto the river and seems to be the most popular. The small field close to the house is mainly used for those requiring EHU and hardstanding.
The next field is half EHU and the final field is only opened when the others are getting filled. The grass in all the fields is kept near immaculate, better than the lawn at home. Very few of the pitches are marked and all are near flat. If you don't need EHU you can be as near or far from other tents as you wish. Water is from several standpipes dotted around.
The facilities are in the house/barn complex and consist of a washing up area plus loos and showers. For the men, a loo, urinal and washbasin; for the women, loos and washbasins. The shower room is family sized and the £1 meter gives a good 5-10+ minutes of hot water, so why not share it (preferably with someone you know)!
There are wall mounted fan heaters in all rooms. There is also a separate, older, single loo & washbasin and a separate, older, shower room (50p). Hot water is available in all the facilities. We were on site over the August Bank holiday and the facilities were under a heavy strain so there were sometimes queues. Other than the bank holiday the facilities were more than adequate.
This is a working farm and campers are welcome to view the cows, calves, horses and sheep in the barns and fields, children loved it. There are a couple of swings for the kids and, of course, plenty of room to play both by/in the shallow river and in the fields. Firepits are available and the farmer will sell (and deliver) a sack of logs. Barbecues are OK if off the grass.
Brecon is about 10 minutes drive and has numerous shops. The largest supermarket is Morrisons which has its own carpark (£1 for 2 hours refundable on a spend of over £3). There are also several Fish & chip shops, Chinese takeaways etc.
Of course the area is great for walking but there are plenty of other places to visit within an hour's drive including castles, gardens, vistor centres, kite feeding stations, mountain railway, adventure centres, caves etc etc.
The general ambience on the site seems to be 'get on with it, but if you need assistance we are here to help'. The owners are very genial and happy to chat but also very busy farmers so don't expect them to be sitting in an office waiting for you.
In other words, it's our kind of site, peaceful, relaxed and sensible pricing (£6 pppn). Highly recommended.

Amazing little campsite I have been visiting over the last 3 years. I was introduced to it by my friends and have never stopped going back. There are two smallish fields with ehu and one massive field without ehu. Plenty of room for children to play.
If you want the razmatazz and glitz of arcades and shows this is not for you. It is a working farm with a shower and a toilet block. There is a bosh for washing whatever in the adjacent block. Charges are per person in a tent and there are not double charges for larger tents (I have an amazon 800) like on some sites.
Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet no hassle break.
The only downside is that there is no on site shop. But with brecon being only a very small jaunt down the road with a large morrisons available it is only a very small inconvenience.

Very happy with the site. Everyone very friendly here. The children loved the freedom&the plus side is that there is no shop so the children cannot keep running in to spend their money.
Unfortunately you had to stock up every day because there was no shop for the small things like milk but Brecon was not far with a Morrisons.
We travelled as a family both myself, my husband&our two children eldest was our son who was at the time 8 nearly 9years old and our daughter who was 15months old.
They absolutely loved the holiday&loved the swing hence the swing was the only park but fields were for playing in. The stream was very nice too

Enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay here, great spot with the river running at the bottom of the site.Ideal for kids to paddle or play. Lovley friendly atmosphere.
The only thing that lets this site down is there is only one shower which is £1. The toilet/shower block was always muddy/grassy but this wasn't enough to put us off going again.
Just take flipflops to wear in the shower.
This site is on a working farm, and the owners seem to be farmers first and campsite owners second, which for us is how we would like it to be.The cows and sheep were lovely to just sit and watch early morning.
If you want a relaxed peaceful site and are more impressed by animals and the river than clean floors in the toilet this is the place to go. We would definitely go back

Stayed in the meddow, a large group of us had a great time playing down by the river and had a large camp fire in the evening.
The owners were great hosts and very accommodating, letting us leave our tents and van till late in the day on the Monday.
A quiet and peaceful location on the out skirts of Brecon, definitely recommend for a visit to brecon.
The only downside was the fact of the limited shower facilities, although spotless the fact there is only one, this is a major downside factor.

We had 5 days here in April and the campsite is in a beautiful area. There were several fields & we chose to camp in the far field next to the river. The field is level & we had camp fires and watched the sheep being driven through every morning. Its a working farm and the farmer and his wife were lovely, the animals were nice, the showers spotless and £1 for as long as you want. Electricity in the shower block for driers etc. So you can be as rustic as you like in the back field or camp nearer the farm. We walked up Pen y fan which is well worth the effort. Originally booked to stay at a campsite nearby but changed our minds when we saw the road and looked round. This was a good decision as here all we heard was the river & sheep, the wood was free if you foraged around and the owners were brilliant. If you fish you can get a permit from Penpont house, Cant recommend enough, if I go back to Wales again would definitely stay here. Thanks to the owners, we had a great time.

Great campsite, the kids really enjoyed it! A couple of small swing parks, the farm animals, flat fields for ball games, and of course the river!
Like the below reviewer we went over the bridge and into the 2nd campsite, not really sure if there are both the same!
We camped on the field by the river which was a bit of a trek to the toilets etc and the below reviewer was spot on, as the facilities were at bursting point!
The road is very quiet.
Would we go again? Yes!

A superb site.
It is found by going from Brecon on the A40 towards Sennybridge, and turning right to Aberbran. It is then the second campsite that you come to - go over the bridge and turn left. There is another campsite on the other side of the river, and I can imagine that people confuse the two.
There are far more than 14 pitches this year - they have opened another field for camping, right by the river. If the campsite gets busy, the toilet facilities will probably be inadequate. As it is, they are very good, although the floors need a good clean. There is a separate sheltered area for washing up, and a kettle too.
Our children played safely in the river, and on the rope swing nearby. There are also 2 swings by the farmhouse. It is a quiet site. It took about 10 mins to drive into Brecon and park up.
The grass is short, and there are plenty of flat, drained areas to pitch tents. Fires are allowed.
We paid £6 per adult and £1 per child over the age of 5. We are certain to go there again.

Just returned from a weekend here and this campsite is a little gem. Very friendly and helpful owners who also run a busy working farm. One adult, three teenagers and two smaller kids all camping for ten pounds per night! is very reasonable indeed. We pitched in the large field right by the river which the kids loved, the river was low due to a lack of rain recently which made it safer for the little ones playing on the pebble beach. The owners allow open fires and even gave us a saw to cut logs from a fallen tree. There was loads of space this weekend and the owners say this field is often quiet unless they have a caravan rally booked in so best phone ahead. Toilets and showers very modern and more than adequate for a site of this size. Brecon is only ten mins away with a Saturday farmers market and of course the usual supermarkets etc. Just watch out for the very friendly farmers dogs - they wander into tents and pinch your biscuits! We would definitely come for a weekend again.

We stayed at this site for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. The owners are very friendly. They have 3 fields for camping. The largest one is nearest the river and is non EHU. There are then 2 further smaller fields with EHU. We chose the back field which had just 6 hook ups but had the best views towards the countryside and hills. The grass was very well kept and flat. The EHU was 10amp.
There is a new toilet block which houses male/female toilets - The ladies had 2 sinks and 2 toilets and 2 plugs for hairdryers etc. The mens had 1 sink and 1 toilet plus a urinal. There is one unisex shower which is very large and costs £1 on a timer (apx 15mins). In another block there is also a sink for washing up but unfortunately only cold water is supplied.
The only downside to this lovely site was the muddy floors in the toilet block which never seemed to be cleaned very well. We had fantastic weather whilst staying here so there shouldn't really of been a problem.
However, this site is a hidden gem in the Brecon Beacons and the toilets were not bad enough to put us off returning. In fact I am surprised it doesn't have more reviews.
