We stayed here over the August bank holiday and I was bit worried it would be so busy that it wouldn't be enjoyable and we wouldn't be able to sleep at night for all the noise.
We stayed as family of 4 with another family of 4 and were pitched together in the electric touring field. On booking in I didn't find the staff too friendly and they were moaning about people's kids making noise which seems unavoidable on a family park and right by the main complex and playground but after that, all the staff we encountered were lovely. The guys who showed us to our pitch were nice and when I asked to be nearish to the toilets as I was 6 months pregnant, they were very helpful.
The pitches were both large and we were close but not too close to the toilets. We had room for our car, camper, awning and table outside with play space.
The toilets were large and clean and other than grass and some muddy footprints on the floor (what else to expect when camping), they were very well maintained. They were cleaned first thing in the morning, midday and again at 10pm! For 3 nights in a row I met the friendly cleaning lady in the toilet block at 10pm which I was very impressed about. They are also heated and the showers have enough room to wash and change. You have to hang everything on two hooks as there's no chair or table in there so take a bag in with you.
They do have some private sinks in cubicles too and plug points for hairdryers/straighteners etc but I never went in there as there was always young girls congregating in that area doing their make up and drying their hair etc. They weren't a bother there was just loads of them and it was easier to brush my teeth in the normal sinks and do my hair back at the camper.
There is a family bathroom with bath and sink and you pay a £5 refundable deposit to have the key for an hour. It's a bit of a pain as you have to have the key back before reception closes at 7pm so you have to be finished for the day by 6.30 really.
The site is very clean and tidy, the grass is well mown and there was no rubbish that we saw.
The lake has many friendly ducks and giant fish who come for food which the kids loved to see.
Some of us took part in the waterskiing which we felt was reasonably priced and was great fun. £10 for an hour including wetsuit and equipment hire.
The site is close to Skegness itself, is 10 mins walk from a lovely sandy beach (no so nice walk though with dog poo and broken bottles), 5 min drive from Fantasy Island and you can walk to Butlins should you wish to visit. We paid £9 per adult and £7 per child for the day and took a picnic.
We didn't use the bar as it was very busy but we used the park which the kids loved. The shop is handy for a paper but we did our main shop at Tesco which is 5 mins in the car. There's also a co-op nearby.
On an evening it was quiet where we were but you could hear noise in the distance, probably from the non-electric camping part of the site and near to the main complex. If I had been staying on that part I would have probably gone home as I hate all that. I like to go to sleep at night!
There were 5 washing up sinks at our toilet block but no draining area. Luckily they were never that busy so we washed in 1 sink and drained in the next one.
There is a laundry room with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities. We didn't use them so I don't know how much they are.
The chemical disposal points are rather unsightly, just regular toilets plonked around the site with just a 3 part wall around them. My 2 year old had to be told time and again not to go near it as it wasn't a normal toilet and as we were sited right next to it, it was a bit grim to see all the time.
There was a bit of a pooey whiff that would waft across the park from time to time but we do not know where it was coming from. It wasn't from the chemical disposal next to us and as the place is very windy, it could have been from any of the many parks nearby.
They could do with a footpath in and out of the main entrance which you have to use to walk anywhere off of the site as currently it's on the road with cars etc using it also. It got very busy at times with cars and pedestrians trying to use it.
All in all we had a great 4 days and I would consider going there again if we ever visit Skegness. I'm quite a fussy camper which is annoying even to myself but this is a great park for family's. I would suggest trying to pitch in the electric field if you like peace and quiet, it's worth paying the extra for.

As our first proper away from home camping trip we didn't really have any ideas of what to expect about this site except that it was going to very busy over the august bank holiday.
We used our little four berth Argos starter kit tent and it was waterproof and very warm it stood up well to the wind and rain that we had so no complaints there.
The site is very large and well laid out, when we arrived on Wednesday it was starting fill and we were shown to a pitch at the back of the site and given plenty of room.
For the cost of £15 per night I think that the site is very good the barn pub is very friendly and the menu although limited provides decent food for you and prices where not the usual ripoff that you would normally find on holiday.
The camp shop was very well priced and with most things just a little bit more than your local corner shop but not excessively so the whole camp had a very friendly atmosphere about it and every one seemed very friendly in the office/pub/shop.
One thing to remember is that the pub/restaurant also doubles as the entertainment venue so as a result once people have eaten they tend to stay in there seats and it soon runs out of tables to eat at, toilets and showers where kept clean and tidy although very busy there is a small laundrette and a dryer that eats tokens.
Over all the site was very good but only let down by its popularity we will be going back next year for a week or two and made some new friends there and is ideal as a base for the surrounding areas bing a few minutes by bus from fantasy island/ingoldmells and about 10 mins from skegness the only small noise problem we had was with the little airfield next door but as there was only 3 planes that took off or landed it isnt a big problem it is just the sound of a plane engine starting surprised us but I would recommend this as a first site for people to use, our kids loved it and spent ages watching the water skiing at work also their is a very large hill next to the water ski that is absolutely fantastic for flying kites from and rolling down especially when you think that there are no adults watching :-}

Just returned from a 3 night stay in a tent on this campsite. It was only our second time camping. This time, we had invested in a bigger tent(1st one we found too small). This camp site is very open and prone to VERY gusty winds! We found this slightly disappointing. No shelter what so ever for you fellow campers in tents! The site itself however is kept clean with the bin areas emptied daily .My daughter and I did find the shower/toilet block to be quite smelly ( might be wise to invest in some air fresheners!) but ok overall, didn't have to queue for a shower. The washing area for your pots however was not so clever,as there is nowhere to put them to drain once you have washed them (partner found this very annoying!)
The location is ideal, well situated near Ingolmels and Skegness. The pub on site looks a lovely, clean, and a well entertained place, but unfortunately we went off site to try the locals.
All in all we did have a enjoyable stay (weather was kind to us, by staying dry.Not so kind for the wind!)

We have just got back after spending 7 nights on their large tent field. This was our first camping trip and the park was a rather nice one with just a few faults. The tent field is large and had plenty of space but they seem to put the tents close together. The toilet blocks have four shower cubicles and four toilet. I sometimes had to wait for the shower but never for long so that was good.
The showers are cleaned in the morning and again at 3pm. So even though it was a modern and nice shower block it got dirty around 11am and stayed that way. In the evening the toilets got messy but they where still fully usable. Toilets where well lit and very warm. The laundry was well priced. £2 a wash, 75p to dry and 20p to iron or spin. You need to collect tokens from reception, which they buy back if unused.
The laundry by the tent and tourer field only had one washer and 2 dryers, an iron with no board.
The other one in the caravan field was nicer and bigger with boards and a table. On arrival we where shown to the field quickly but as it was a big park with facilities we felt they should have given an information pack with a park map, open and closing times, emergency contacts, entertainment and details on the laundry and fishing. This information is available on request but it would save plenty of long walks to and from reception as the tent field is at the back of the park. It is about 10-15 mins from the tent field to the main bus stop. The park playground was fine and the children all loved it. They even have a tuck shop in the park that opens after the main shop closes until 10pm. The main shop is small but had enough for our needs, though slightly high priced. The barn in do nice food at good priced, though my jacket potato was microwaved. The kids meals where great with loads of chips. Drinks prices where high.
We would return to this park but only once we have a tourer. Our tent flooded twice and the wind crumpled it. No more camping for us. For day trips stick to Butlins and Skegness. Fantasy island was not very good and was quite dirty.

Stayed on this site for 4 days.I have to say we were impressed with the site on arrival. The facilities were clean, modern. There is a well stocked if a little pricey shop, a coffee shop that does a great sausage butty and a bar with reasonably priced drinks and bar meals and nightly entertainment. Although our group were all adults it was obvious to see it was a great site for children in terms of facilitites, not to mention the water skiing for those interested - We watched for a while but it was too cold for us!
However,we found the people in reception quite unhelpful and unfriendly at times even when asking for simple but important bits of info. The toilets/showers although clean were not enough for the size of the camp-we were asked to pitch quite close to the entrance so shared 4 toilets with most of the camp as they visited the pub etc and only 2 showers which were always busy. The first night was an eye opener too-we were there to enjoy our holiday and had been to the bar ourselves until 11.30 but when at 2am there were still people hovering around the pub/entrance area yelling and screaming we weren't impressed. Then when the first deliveries to the pub/shop started to arrive around 5am we were even less impressed. Our pitch was also at the edge of a very busy car park. This went on every night .We wouldn't discourage anyone from visiting this site, especially if you have children but the camp is not well organised in terms of pitches and we would recommend that if you do visit refuse to accept a pitch near the main entrance and ask for somewhere else on the site where it did seem much more reasonable.

We stayed here as it was close to Butlins (5 min walk) and we were visiting for the day as our kids are Bob The Builder mad. The things you do for your kids.
Skegness is advertised as 'bracing' and this is one windy site. It was packed as it was school holidays so we didn't get the 'roomy pitch' as advertised although the site is massive. The showers/toilets are clean but there are not enough for the amount of people - especially on friday and saturday nights as showers, sinks, mirrors etc are clogged with sixteen year old girls making themselves beautiful for hours on end for a night out in Ingoldmells.
The on site shop was well stocked with staples like alcohol, sweets, bread, milk, sweets and alcohol. They also stocked alcohol. We would have prefered some fruit or bottles of water but we were probably the only ones on site which would.
The on site pub served the usual microwaved food and 'happy hour' on drinks lasted all day. With a 12 o'clock bar and nightly entertainment we were treated to all manner of English accents singing 'show me the way to Amarillo' as they past our sleepy van at one o'clock in the morning.
The children's playground in the beer garden of the pub had a list of long rules on the wall which nobody had read. It was full of kids older than 12, lots of ball games and parents who seemed to be more responsible for their beer than their children on top of climbing frames. There were so many children packed into it, it was downright dangerous. The brochure also advertised a mini train but all we saw were some rusty old tracks.
There is a regular bus service into Skegness if you fancy escaping out of the frying pan into the fire and my kids loved the fact that it was open topped. My husband and I however, didn't love the fact that after 3 nights here our five year old was coming out with swearwords that would put a navvy to shame and our toddler could throw a punch to rival Lennox Lewis. This place is like marmite. You will either love it or hate it. We don't eat Marmite!

This was our first time camping here - we found the state of the pitch was good, it was very dry. However for the size of the site we do think there could be more facilities.
Some of the staff we found were very unhelpful, especially if you made a complaint - it was as if they didn't want to know.
Toilet blocks were being blocked up by other campers/children. They need to be cleaned more often.
Showers were ok, but could be better. They were at times too hot - especially for young children.
The site was very near the beach - so able to walk there in a few minutes. Fantasy Island was about 20 - 30 mins walk away via the back lane walk. The site is near the main road so you could get a bus to Skegness or further afield.
The Barn inn was very good value for food & drink, there was entertainment on every night.
Not quite so sure we are happy with the idea that after every 7 days you have to pack everything up & move to another pitch - imagine doing this with a large 8 man plus tent!

This was our first camping experience, we stayed for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) and had a fabulous time! We were pitched really quickly on a very flat dry pitch (if not a bit windy) and had lots of room. Facilities were really close and very clean although because the site was being constantly mowed it was a bit grassy in the loos but cleared away regularly. The playground was lovely, really clean, our 4 year old daughter loved it! The 'Barn Inn' pub was really nice and food was well priced and tasty, really close to Butlins, Fantasy Island and buses to Skegness so a real seaside holiday which we love! Friday night was quite noisy until late, bit annoying, but school holidays so the site was packed. Overall a great weekend, could have stayed a week!

Have just returned from a two-night break at the Skegness Water Leisure Park as part of a group of two families with two 5 year olds and two 3 year olds. I would definitely recommend this site for families. The park was well kept and we were sited close to water, electric & toilet facilities, which were warm and clean. Showers were good if not a little low for my 6ft tall husband!
The on-site shop and bar/restaurant was very well priced for a holiday park. There was entertainment on both nights and we got up to the pub in good enough time for us to have a window seat so we could watch the kids in the very well equipped children's play area.
We walked into Ingoldmells one day, which is a typical seaside town and there's loads to do nearby.
Only downside from the weekend was the amount of tractors that seemed to tear past our tents. We found out that they are excavating another lake and the tractors belong to the contractors who are removing the gravel and the seasonal pitch owners had hoped they would have finished by peak season!

Having just returned from a four night camping break at the Water Leisure Park in Skegness I have no doubts that I would return there again. The campsite itself was in easy walking distance from the beach and bars. The site was clean and very well kept. The shower and toilet block were spotless, it also boasted an excellent pub on site which was reasonably priced and had a good atmosphere. I would thoroughly recommend anyone planning a camping trip to Skegness to give this site a try.
