June 2004 Very smart and new site. There is a very nice driving range for golf fans a little putting course which could be "crazier" for the kids. The new bar is pleasant enough but there is not shop.
The toilets and showers were spotless and one thing struck me as strange, the pay hairdryers were right next to the free hand dryer, mmm.
As we booked in we were handed the site rules which is fair enough and as we were there with our 8 month old son we were not likely to be troubling anyone anyway. On the friday and saturday nights there was a lot of noise from other pitches, I'm no kill joy but 3:30 in the morning is a bit OTT when the noise curfew is supposed to be 11:00. This is something they need to sort out as those who are not considerate to others need to be dealt with.

June 2004 What a lovely site. It was so peaceful and quiet even though there were children staying. The golf range had reduced rates for campers; my 14 year old who has never tried golfing had thoroughly good time practicing. The toilets, showers were exceptionally clean and spacious with ample hot water and there are also laundry facilities. Easy to get into York and very near Monks Cross which has shopping and a water world (my son again enjoyed this). Finally would like to say the staff where very helpful and friendly and that when we return to York we will definately be staying on this site.

April 2004 yet again another visit , as per my previous entry for this site nothing has changed other than an added bonus of a small bar lounge . Open when busy or by request . I hear that a 9 hole golf course is next on the agenda.

January 2004 Well what a site, I stopped with a mate and three kids in our caravan over the new year for 5 days . Very easy to get to just off the A64. Owners were very nice people. Site is very new and is clean, level pitches with lots and lots of room, I could have got two vans on the pitch. Toilet block, 3 showers free and water just right temp. If you're into golf (I'm not) new driving range on site. Loads of thing to do in area around York and Leeds . No pub but a shop within walking distance and a large shopping complex with Asda, Burger King, Piza Hut etc within 5 mins drive. I'm going back at Easter we enjoyed it that much. Not the cheapest site but in my opinion worth the cost.

June 2003 Site is about 10 days old now and is exceptional in all areas, location, facilities, pitches and friendliness. If you like a quiet site away from the on site pub in lovely surroundings then this is it. If you or your partner like golf then this site is ideal as it has its own fully automated driving range and golf shop. Thanks to Graham for making us so welcome.
