Nice site with clean facilities and very quite. However after cycling Lejog and staying in over 14 campsites this was the most expensive in the UK
Although the facilities were good with Covid measures in place.
The staff were friendly It had no further attributes such beautiful views, good atmosphere, stunning location shop or pub open nearby or Wi-fi.
Quite honestly I cannot see how it justifies its pricing.

This is an excellent independent site but go prepared to pay by cash as cards are not accepted so we had to pay the next day after visiting Sainsbuys for the nearest cash machine.
The site has a large area for tents, mostly flat and well-maintained. Electric points but no taps on field. There is a very good amenities block with a well-equipped kitchen with all washing up necessities, a microwave, kettle and a small flat-plate electric cooker as well as plates, pans and some cutlery. There is only one shower each for men and women but the ladies' is like an ensuite. It has a toilet, basin and a corner shower with curved doors, shampoo and conditioner are there if needed, bath mats and hand towels also provided. Each of the other toilets have basins, hand wash and hand towels. All the facilities are kept beautifully clean. The only issue was the water in the men's facilities went cold but Mrs Rogers sorted it out straight away when reported. My husband commented that shelves would be useful in the gents. In spite of some other comments about traffic noise, we did not find it intrusive possibly as we are used to some, being from London.
There are no shops near by and the nearby pub is closed. About a mile along the main road towards Street, at the first roundabout is a Macdonalds, a Lidls and a large Sainsburys with a very good cafe. Clarks shopping village is a bit further along the main road with a good choice of outlet shops.
It is easy to reach many tourist attractions but we spent a lot of time with friends and only visited Cheddar Gorge and Montecute, an NT stately home.
I would definitely recommend this site even though it is a bit expensive but all the thoughtful extras make it unique in our 30+ Years camping experience.

One of the best equipped campsites we have ever been to with regards to facilities for the size of the site : there is a kitchenette fully equipped with fridge, microwave, hot plate, plenty of kettles, cups, spare chairs, first aid kit etc etc which is available for use by everybody. It really was home from home for any emergencies! This was especially great for us as we were in tents (most were in motor homes or caravans; but they also commented on the lovely facilities too). The showers and toilets are some of the cleanest we have ever seen. They are also very homely. Always stocked with toilet roll, handwash (radox/cussons etc) and even body butter! Each one also has toilet and bath mats. The owners take pride in the appearance of their facilities and made regular checks throughout the day. There was only one shower for women and one for men, but 6 toilets each. This didn't affect us negatively though as again most other visitors were in caravans. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shower - it was mostly our friends that were in there anyway!
The pitches are spacious and flat, and we were told to choose where we would like to go which was nice- we chose to be opposite the kitchen area so that we could utilise the fridge to full potential.
There are plenty of bins and recycling areas.
Firepits/ BBQs are allowed (but do not scorch the grass!) but not available to hire- we went and bought one from B&Q and Lidl respectively.
We were extremely close to Street and Glastonbury. We travelled there, to go up the Tor, Cheddar gorge and biked along a coast road from Burnham on Sea (we drove there and took the bikes with us).
The pub at the top of the road was decent enough but more of a restaurant. We also visited the retreat at Ashcott further down for an afternoon watching football and an evening meal - this place was LOVELY.
The owners were pleasant and offered local advice and directions to cider farms etc. We did feel a little bit 'watched' at times but we think this was because we were a fairly young group (6 30-35 yr olds) and they probably thought we may be rowdy (we weren't, that's why we chose this campsite).
They were fairly on the ball with locking up times of the kitchenette (9pm) but did offer to leave it open longer if we needed to get to the fridge.
The only downsides we have for the campsite are that the main road is fairly close and although this is an A road it is an extremely busy route from the M5 to Glastonbury and at night it sounded like freight trucks were passing by, all night. Not really the babbling brook/wildlife noise that we hope for. Unfortunately there was also some kind of crazy rave that went on nearby each night (it was bank holiday) - no fault of the campsite at all, and there is obviously nothing they could have done about it but it was happy hardcore/trance ALL night from 7 - 3am.
That being said, after that it was just birdsong, and we slept fairly well.
Overall a great site but we wouldn't necessarily go back due to the road noise and we feel we visited what we could in the area. We enjoy nice quiet bike rides to villages too and felt the road was a bit too busy to be able to enjoy this, and the area was more of a town (with the B&Q, Clarks outlet etc just 5 mins away).
If this convenience is what you're looking for though it will be perfect for you!
Can't comment on children, there was only 1 in a caravan that we didn't really see. We were able to play rounders/football in a separate field though which I assume would be where they would ask children to play. (Our husbands are big kids!)
Lovely campsite, lovely owners.

I found this site from a road sign, knowing there was one 'round here some where'.
The folk were very polite and friendly, the site was very well looked after, the tent area was almost garden like.
The loos etc were spectacularly clean and the mens shower far better than any I have seen on a campsite or even some houses!
There's even a kitchen and lounge area that although was closed at the time, they offered to open it but I was the only camper there and didn't need it.
I would recommend this site to anyone and if in the same area, it would be my preferred site even if it meant driving out of my way.

Lovely tidy site, brilliant for tents as it has a well equipped room with cooking facilities. We stayed in our vw camper just 2 of us, no awning or extras except electric for our kettle and a DVD player, and it cost us £25 per night, Don't get me wrong it's a nice site, but we have stayed on sites with swimming pools and clubhouse for the same money! Also there were children on site, so not strictly adult only.

This site is easily accessible and has flat grass pitches, facilities are ok but could be cleaner, could do with more showers. No information given about the site when we arrived but it wasn't rocket science to find everything.
Pub is a very short walk which serves good food.
The site is advertised as adult only yet they was a number of families with children staying there.

This is the best site we have ever stayed on, with regards to facilities. Individual shower suites, kitchen with keytle, toasters, microwaves. Even tea, coffee, milk and cups are left for when you arrive and haven't had time to unpack.
Very friendly service, in beautiful surroundings. We would love to return.

What a lovely site! A warm welcome from the owners greets you and a then a choice of pitches on flat, level, well maintained grass. Many with hook ups.
The showers and washrooms are modern & immaculate. Better than many hotels I have stayed in. There is a kitchen area and washing up room. All perfectly clean tidy and well equipped. There is even tea and coffee if you arrive late & packed yours 'somewhere safe'.
A short walk (300m) down the quiet lane to the pub which serves excellent food and good beer.
About 5 miles from Glastonbury town, good walking and cycling straight from the campsite entrance.
Well worth a visit. The delights of Cadbury world (an outlet shopping centre location) is about 2 miles away if you'd rather shop than drop.
We'll be back.

Stayed here over August Bank Holiday weekend after booking very late. £23 a night including EHU for 2 adults and 2 dogs and our large tent.
Although advertised as Adult Only the campsite will consider children as long as the parents appear well behaved.
Some noise from the nearby A road but we didn't notice it after the first day/night.
Lots of space, fab facilities - even an oven you can use. Marjorie and Austin are very friendly.
Good area for walking or cycling on the levels. Supermarket close by (short drive). Pub within walking distance. Easy access for caravans/campers. There are storage facilities on the site.
Good for dogs, footpath opposite the site leading to 2 good size fields. Austin also directed us to an enclosed field at the back of the campsite where we could let our dogs off lead.
Couple of fields to choose from, plenty of space between pitches. Would definitely return.

Absolutely fabulous! This was a last minute stop and 1 night only but we were very impressed. We chose this site as it had good reviews and had availability for our last minute stay, and we’re now planning to go back for a few more nights to enjoy this site and vicinity in more detail. It wasn’t busy and therefore so quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted, site was flat, clean and we were made very welcome by the owner. Toilets/showers, impeccable, fresh, clean and well stocked, even the hand towels were John Lewis! A stable had been converted into kitchenettes for public use with fridge kettle microwave and table top oven with hob, there was even milk in the fridge! Washing up area and breakfast bars meant that we could sit in there, and have breakfast in home from home comfort, such a lovely idea and not seen before.
At the end of the lane was the Walton pub that served a couple of ales and delicious bar food, just a short walk away. The market town of Street was only 2km from the site and had all usual amenities such as Sainsburys, Starbucks, Wetherspoons etc as well as some lovely independents and tea shops. The Clarke’s Shopping village in the middle of town, is also well worth a look around.
Just up the road about 1km is Hecks Cider Farm and we can really recommend the Kingston Black! And at very reasonable prices. We also took home a hand made jug with tap to store it in! I think the nearest beach is Burnham on Sea, approx. 19km and we’ll check this out next time.
Overall very satisfied with our stay here.
