This has got to be one of my favourite campsites (and after camping for over 15 years I have stayed at many!).
The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We forgot our mains fridge lead and the gentleman kindly leant us a spare lead.
The campsite has a very welcoming and relaxed feel about it with chickens freely roaming the site and horses in the neighbouring fields. There are 3 fields with which to camp and the toilet / shower / washing up facilities are all well equipped.
Our Camping party gradually grew over time to 8 tents and Margaret was able to accommodate us. No problem. The campsite is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Coleford and also perfect for exploring the Forest of Dean with many walks from the campsite.
We loved this site so much we returned 2 weeks later and will definitely be returning again next year!

Pleasant, clean site without any unnecessary frills. You might be lucky to get some multi-coloured free-range eggs from the clearly happy and healthy chickens wandering round enjoying REAL freedom, if the owners have any spare!
10 minutes walk from Coleford.
Well recommended and that's where we will stay next time we are in that area!

I have been staying here for the last couple of months on and off, and its ok, so its not perfect but as a base to work the woods and foot paths of the forest its well located and reasonable priced,
It does have a few down points but they are small and personal, the owner is a horse person so they are short I am tall the mirror in the bath room reflects my waist and not the chin I want to shave, the percussion shower tap is a nightmare as it only lasts 10 seconds and your all ways pushing it back on, water to the sinks is warm and not hot so its a pain to shave without hot water,
As for the farm its clean and tidy the horses are friendly so are the chickens

Well what can I we say other than perfect? Excited to test our new tent we phoned an half an hour away to see if they could accommodate us. The owners couldn't do enough to help us find the site and upon arrival the husband was there to greet us.
Friendly and relaxed as to where we could pitch, we found a perfect spot for us and the new tent. The horses in the field next door were the icing on the cake!
Lovely clean new shower block and pointed in the direction of the local pub that did great very reasonably priced food.
The owners were more than happy to lend a crowbar to help us pull out the pegs I had over zealously hammered in to the ground!
What a wonderful site and a little over an hour away from the Midlands. Spot on and topped off by a visit to see the Perigrin Faulkens on our way home.
Can't wait for our next visit!

Located just outside Coleford this is a farm site, mostly level situated in the middle of a triangle of roads but never suffered from noise. Facilities are fine but showers and toilets limited in number I can imagine queues forming if ever the site was full. Owners are perfectly friendly, if a little eccentric getting hugely excited if people park a fraction off centre from their electric hook up point!
My only criticism isn't the fault of the owners or the facilities it's the position of the site. If you want to walk your dogs in the surrounding forest there's no way of getting to it without driving unless you are prepared to walk along and then cross over at least two main roads.
The pricing structure is refreshing. No hike in peak times and charges are per person with a small price added for hook up otherwise no add ons. Very reasonable.

After deciding to go last minute camping I contacted a number of sites to enquire about a pitch for the evening, however, because it was dark, one would not allow us to pitch up due to their terms and conditions. Having rang Rushmere farm at 8.00pm whilst en route to the Forest of Dean, they couldn't have been more helpful and even offered us directions to the site. On our arrival the owners were welcoming and provided us with a discount due to a new shower block being built. The site was well maintained and due to the time of year, the site was quiet with only three other families. The site is situated near quite a busy road, however the noise was not really noticeable in the day or the evening. There are also pitches with electric hook ups.
The facilities were clean and well stocked with soap, shampoo, and toilet rolls. The shower block situated near to the field was very clean, however, the shower cubicles were very small and as the shower heads were fixed to the wall, this made it difficult to shower properly. However, the following morning on investigation we found a disabled toilet and shower that was spacious and was situated at the front of the farm house and only a short walk from the field.
Although there no facilities for children our eight year old was happy enough to ride his bike around the camping field (children are not permitted to play else where due to horses and farm machinery, and watch the horses in adjoining fields.
In terms of shops, the town is about half a mile away with plenty of parking, lots of takeaway shops serving traditional fish and chips, Chinese, pizza, and kebabs. There is also quite a large CO-OP and Tesco Express in the Hight Street. Attractions such as Puzzlewood and Perrygrove railway are also within easy access of the site although I personally felt that the admission prices for Puzzlewood were a little too high.
Overall, a very friendly site that we would recommend and will be returning to in the future.

Site spread across 3 fields, some sloping areas but plenty of flat bits too.
Facilities in portable cabins but very clean and fully stocked with loo rolls etc. New block under construction.
Although between some roads, the road noise never bothered us and neither did the cockerel!
Good family shower so we could get our 3 year old washed easily.
Lots to do in the area, Puzzlewood a bit expensive we thought, but our 3 year old loved it.
Local shops, pubs etc very close by.
Basic, friendly site. We will return here. Enjoyed much more than the big one at Christchurch we camped at previously.
