What a fab site just what we wanted. Peaceful and basic but great location. Owner was friendly. Only thing that spoilt it was another couple letting their dog roam free and it attacking me on our return to the site after a day out. Will definitely stay again

Brilliant weekend at Astbury Falls, great location for Bridgenorth and surrounding area. The owner is friendly, answers any questions you have of the area. Site is very peaceful with a few units, a unique shower, very spacious. Severn Valley railway is 5 minute drive away. Definitely recommend this site.

DON'T TELL ANYONE ELSE !
What a find! A simple, secluded site, with superb fishing !
Unpretentious - you get what it says on the tin ! - SO - please do not compare this site with a Caravan Club or a Camping & Caravan Club site - if that is what you are looking for - then go to one of those. Personally, I hope the very genial owner, David, doesn't get tempted to turn this into such a site, and lose its rustic charm.
But be warned - seclusion comes with a risk - the nearby busy B road has no footpath or walkway so is hazardous for you keep-fitters - instead, bring along your OS map and tread the footpaths and ramblers' rights of way that are getting neglected and overgrown and re-routed by landowners.
Along that same B road, stopping by the turn down to the campsite, runs an hourly bus service into Bridgnorth, conveniently depositing you by Sainsbury.
The entire campsite is surrounded by trees, so - no light pollution - giving star gazers a beautiful tranquil setting to enjoy the night sky.
And so to the fishing - a choice of 4 swims along one side of a stream fed pool. No one has explained the rules to the fish - so expect anything - from gudgeon that will take on a size 6 hook and cat food chunks bigger than its head, quality roach that prefer meat to corn, and lightning fast carp strikes that snap 7lb line like cotton. These fish must be on Steroids! Absolutely immaculate condition - wonderful fun fishing - once you have worked out how to stop the tiddlers from corporately dissasembling your bait!
And lastly (and oh boy, can he last!) looking at other reviewers' criticisms -
No sink in the toilet. Just like millions of homes in the UK with separate toilets.
No hot water for washing up. Remember to put the kettle on to boil whilst you are eating !
Lumpy grass - cuttings left in situ - remember to wipe your feet before going into your van - if you are using a tent, check where you are going to pitch, and whack the lumps down with a mallet before putting the groundsheet in place.
A lovely peaceful place to stay - a great place to stay -
Thoroughly recommended - but - Please don't tell all your friends !

This is a very basic site and thought it was over priced. There were not marked pitches and the ground was uneven. The grass had been cut and left so it was trod into the vans which was really annoying. To be honest I expect more for £20 per night.
I actually quite liked the quirkiness of the toilet and shower shed combination although wasn't impressed about the lack of sink for washing my hands afterwards. Being given anti bacterial gel did not inspire me. Must say though the toilet was kept clean with decent amount of toilet tissue. There was an area for washing up but it only had cold water and it looked like a reclamation yard. We took our washing up home.
The site is about 2 miles away from Bridgnorth but some of the road has no path and was precarious at times. There is a nice pub halfway though which had a lovely pub garden where we enjoyed a cold beer to help us on our way.
If time and effort were put into this site, it could be a little gem. Unfortunately it would take a lot of time and effort, we won't be coming back. It felt more like waste ground not a camp site. I feel quite bad about writing this because the owner was quite a nice guy but thought other people should know what the place is really like.

We stayed for 2 nights and found this site to be very tranquil. With it being a small site, the facilities are a little rustic but this wasn't an issue in the slightest. The owners were very friendly and had lots of local knowledge, which lead us to a couple of great days out.
There was lots going on in Bridgnorth and it's such a nice town to have a stroll around, with the market and the wonky castle!
Thanks for a nice weekend, we'll hopefully call in again sometime!

Just returned from a lovely 2 day stay at this beautiful campsite. A very clean, dog friendly, secure, picturesque, well maintained & peaceful site. It was like being in our own little nature reserve, which was wonderful for two keen nature lovers/photographers :o). Huge array of wildlife all around you, the established fishing pools have either course or trout fishing available if you're into that sort of thing (watching the trout jump right out for the flies was a lovely sight). Chilling to the sound of the nearby waterfall & owls hooting sent you off into a nice slumber. Will defo be returning again.

Very impressed with this small, charming peaceful site, surrounded by trees, and beautifully maintained to a harmonious balance with nature. The owner was very welcoming and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay. The toilet and shower facilities are a rustic treat - very clean but with a certain home-made panache, which certainly makes it unique in a very positive way. The only criticism is the heavy gate into the site, but that's a minor whinge. Just remember when pulling down the lane off the main road, stop at the second large steel gate on the left for entry about 200 yards down. We want to come back for sure.

The location is lovely, very quiet and peaceful.
David welcomed us on to the site, having directed us there from the main road - the site isn't the easiest to find.
The surface wasn't level and smooth, but not bad, but in any case it didn't matter on this occasion as we pitched on the rough tarmac road due to very wet grassed areas.
The one small toilet was fine, but the shower out of commission due to frost damage. The £20 a night charge was not reduced because of this, which made it too expensive for a site with these facilities.
The coarse fishing lake was clearly a hole JCB'd out of the ground and filled with water, but no doubt it will be attractive when it matures. The trout lake was much bigger and prettier, but I didn't fish it.
In all, a nice site, but not worth £20 a night.

Found this site through UKCampsite.co.uk and arrived there on 8th aug, after checking by telephone that there was room for us. We were met in the lane by the owner. He was very helpful and accommodating and opened both the huge steel gates to let us in, directed us to our pitch and made sure we were settled in after showing us round.
It's a beautiful location, in it's own little valley. Surrounded by trees and with the stream and waterfall close by we found it to be idyllic. It is a simple site.
The shower and toilet are located in separate wooden sheds and are spotlessly clean. The shower is hot and there is no timer.
The course lake is small but very well stocked and we fished each day and caught plenty of roach, rudd perch, golden orfe, mirror and common carp. The small rudd can be a nuisance until you get your bait size right. We didn't use the trout lake so cannot comment, but it looks great. The owner is on site should you have any problems. There is a dustbin for your bagged rubbish which is emptied regularly, there is a hopper for emptying the waste water - the owner is improving this directly as it is a bit slow to drain away.
The grassy area for tents is lovely and is kept short. At present there is room for 3 motorhomes/caravans with hook-up and several tents can be placed on the grassy area.
There is a sink and tap in a separate wash up area, though we used our own facilities. The loo could do with a small hand sink but otherwise the facilities were basic but worked well.
We found the site to be charming, our host even dropped us off in town one evening and we took a taxi back after a few real ales in Bridgnorth.
The surrounding area has plenty to offer. The Severn valley is beautiful. The local towns are all worth a visit. With the Severn valley railway, Ironbridge Gorge and it's museums - there is plenty to see and do. We look forward to going again!
