The only time we've ever returned to the same campsite!

We really like it is tents only (the glamping is quite separate), peaceful and spacious.

The toilets and showers don't look much from the outside but they're actually really nice - cleaned regularly and a good strong shower with loads of space to get changed.

Lots of space for ball games, making friends etc. Not far to drive to the beach or supermarket.

The on site shop is also very handy and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

A great stay again, thank you.

The site is level with well tended grass and spacious pitches. We had a EHU pitch.

It's situated approximately 2 miles from Holt down a narrow country lane probably not suitable for large vehicles and caravans but the site is tent only.

The facilities are kept very clean but I think it would benefit from a few more toilets. There seems to be plenty of free showers with preset hot water at a nice temperature.

I would prefer some low level lighting on the paths and by the facilities.

It has a 10oclock ban on unnecessary noise which is pretty well observed. I personally think it ought to be a 10:30 or 11:00 curfew but others may disagree.

All in all a very pleasant well run site which we would happily visit again.

The site was just what we wanted plenty of room to experiment/put up properly a new tent extension.

Toilets showers and wash up area kept very clean

Friendly welcome though at first it appeared nobody was there you had to telephone but the owner turned up within a minute and was very welcoming explaining all about the facilities.

Definitely stay their again

Another excellent long weekend at Baconsthorpe Meadows. Not much has changed since last year's visit, but the wildlife was particularly good this time.

All the facilities remain excellent; if I had to level a criticism it would be that the hand dryers are really temperamental.

Emma manages all this beautifully: everything is wonderfully clean whatever the weather, the shop is really useful and there is no evidence of fuss - just competence, efficiency and help available when you need it.

We are just home after another stay at Baconsthorpe and were again delighted. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the host, who made us feel right at home.

The campsite itself is impeccably maintained, with well-groomed grounds and clean facilities. Lots of room while still offering a sense of tranquillity.

Relaxing by the campfire under the starry night sky is magical. In addition to the natural beauty of the surroundings, the amenities provided at the campsite were top-notch.

Clean toilets, hot showers, and conveniently located water stations made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Overall, our experience at Baconsthorpe is positive in every way. We have stayed before, and will stay again.

Stayed here on a cycle tour - The Rebellion Way.

Good facilities, very level pitch, good little shop/freezer etc.

Really peaceful and a gorgeous sunset. Near to Holt with good pubs, shops etc

My third visit to this excellent campsite and it's better than ever.

The new showers are superb - adjustable temperature and the Push Buttons of Doom actually give a good 20 seconds or so of hot water at very good pressure. The water here and in the washing-up sinks (now under permanent cover) is softened, so you really need the pressure to rinse the soap off.

Lavatories are smart and kept very clean. A useful separate room houses a washer, a dryer and two full sized freezers.

The reception / shop sells useful staples, firewood, charcoal etc. Whilst we were there it was open between 4:30 and 6. There's wifi round reception but there's good 4G across the site.

It's just over three miles to Holt for shopping; Leatheringsett farm shop is a couple of miles beyond that. Sheringham and Cromer are also within very easy reach.

Baconsthorpe castle is under a full scaffold at the moment and closed to visitors. It looks like a long project, so worth checking the EH website if you're keen to visit it.

The grass is kept beautifully and the ground holds pegs exceptionally well. EHU is 16A and solid. Pitches are extremely generous.

The owner, Emma Youngs, is formidably competent and runs this site really well. It's peaceful and perfectly organised - Emma's around if you need anything but leaves you alone otherwise. In the eight years we've been coming here she has steadily improved the details whilst preserving what's always been best about the site. Brava.

There was nothing not to like.

Facilities great and the fact that there was also a park for children even better.

It was fantastic to be able to have use of the fire pits, after all what is camping without a camp fire.

Excellent stay, will be going back.

A lovely quiet well run site, we stayed for three nights in the field which allows dogs.

The toilet and shower facilities, and washing up area were so clean and well kept.

Really easy drive to so many places.

We will definitely be back for a return trip.
