Easy to book with clear instructions given for temporary non contact arrival due to Covid
Small new site Pitches clearly marked
Very clean and tidy
We had a grass pitch with electric - perfect for our 3 dogs in the awning
Lovely walking area around a large pond for the dogs - all very clean
Very quiet site and all silent from about 9-10pm - same in the mornings!
So quiet in the mornings (6am) you can hear the birds and other local wildlfe - so nice
Very little road noise as not near a main road
Showers and toilets were not open due to Covid restrictions
Owner came to see us to check we all ok and happy
NOTE: only scored the child friendliness down as no play areas for the little ones but plenty of grass field area to play how we used to!
Overall great service and lovely quiet site to relax at
We will be back

What a truly fantastic site which has everything you could need. Restrictions in place atm due to Covid but never the less everything ticks a box.
Quiet with great spaces to explore. Pitches level with hook up and water and lots of new work being carried out to a very high standard.
Very slight road noise at very busy periods but nothing that should bother your enjoyment. Watch this lovely site grow and just get better and better :-)

Just come back after having a fantastic weekend at this site. No electric hook up, but that did not bother us as we do rally tours regularly. There is an Elsan disposal point, a fresh water point and also a grey water point, all very clearly marked. This was a lovely, quiet, peaceful site (we were the only ones there on this occasion.
The site is just off the main road with occasional road noise, but nothing to be concerned about. It is secluded by the pond banking on one side and hedgerows on the other. The southerly aspect overlooks open farmland.
This is well situated for visiting several lovely small villages, great walking area and also the town of Pocklington with its many amenities, is only 3. 5 mile away. We met the site owner who was really nice and nothing was too much trouble.
If we have to be critical, and this no way spoils the site, on this occasion after a prolonged day of rain, the entrance became rather muddy, but did dry up by the time of our departure. Without any hesitation we will certainly book this site again.

Spent a fantastic weekend at Old York Forest. The weather was hot and we were the only unit on site.
It's a basic site, no toilets or showers. There is a fresh water tap, a CDP with a separate tap for cleaning and a grey water disposal point, all are well signposted. There is information (on the fence near the water tap) on the local area including nearby pubs and circular walks along the river at Sutton upon Derwent. Unfortunately we didn't visit the pubs on this occasion as we were busy walking in the woods with the hound or sitting in the sun. The owners are very friendly and are happy to answer any questions. There are also out of hours contact numbers for the owners, which is great as not all sites provide this.
There is a fishing pond on site but I didn't get the chance to fish during our visit.
The camping area overlooks arable fields and is situated behind the fishing pond. It is sheltered by the high banks around the pond.
During our stay, the nights were cloudless and as there was no light pollution so we managed to see the Milky Way and some shooting stars, fantastic!
There is a post office and pub at Barmby Moor but the nearest place for supplies is Pocklington which has a good selection of shops/pubs/restaurants.
The area is flat so is ideal for cycling, we did see a lot of people cycling on the roads around the woods but we didn't bring our bikes on this occasion.
The site is in a good location for visiting York, Hull, Beverley and the Yorkshire Wolds.
All in all we had a great weekend and would happily return, especially as it cost £7 per night for 2 adults and a dog.
