Our second visit to this campsite and we enjoyed it just as much as the first.
Toilet and wash area on site and we were provided fire wood and a fire pit from the owner. The shop was only a 5 minute drive out.
Nice and secluded with thanks to surrounding trees too so my reactive dog didn’t see the other campers too much.
Only thing I will say is the toilets and shower could’ve done with a bit more cleaning but can’t help flies and spiders lurking I suppose.

This is a lovely peaceful site.
If you love the sound of birdsong, chickens, geese and other Farm animals, this site will appeal.
It is basic but the owners are friendly and welcoming.
The only problem we had was the vast amount of roadworks in the area made getting around tricky.

The quiet, the space, hiring of the firepit, fresh herbs.
Sadly, a group of travellers came on. Luckily we weren't surrounded and to be honest, the travellers were clean polite and quiet and didn't bother us at all. But I felt sorry for the lovely young couple who came back to 5 large caravans and large commercial vans completely surrounding them. I hope they were refunded for the night they didn't stay.
If it had just been us and the campers then it would have been totally idyllic. No disrespect meant to anyone but this is a small intimate family site and the people in the 2 tents felt intimidated enough to pack up and leave on Saturday night.

Management response: Unfortunately we were inundated by a group of travellers whilst we were out. We had difficulty getting them to leave. It wasn't our fault and the campers who left have been refunded and offered free camping on another date. This was a one off and doesn't reflect our lovely family campsite. |

We have just got home from a really chilled out stay at hatters farm. And will hopefully be going back sometime in the near future.
Alison was very friendly and came a couple of times to see how we were getting on but without intruding into our holiday. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
Thank you Alison for a lovely few days stay and we will be back soon albeit bow top yurt or our own comfy caravan

Well situated for visiting Blackpool, Fleetwood and Morecombe. We Tent camped there for 4 Nights just after they had experienced 2 weeks of rain, leaving the campsite like a Swamp! That in turn resulted in three vehicles having to be towed out by Tractor !
Admittedly the Campsite Owners towed them out with the farm tractor without too much trouble. However I feel this could have been avoided if the site had contacted the members to say, really the campsite was not suitable for camping at present !
The shower and toilet were fine but strangely no washing up facilities. It is a working farm, so you will hear cows, horses, guinea fowl, chickens and Cockerel. Having said all the above, we still had a marvellous time.
If it were dry underfoot and as the field was set out in little pockets accommodating 4 units only, this would be a great little campsite.

Our second visit to Hatters Farm. We love it here. As Alison the owner says, a basic site, however at a very fair £12 it is perfectly adequate and unpretentious. Particularly liked the lack of enforced rules- trusting us to keep our dogs close rather than insisting on them both being on leads. And. How sensible not to charge for awning, dog and a visitor to the site? more likely to get repeat bookings from us with that approach. We really enjoyed (on request) looking round the farm to see milking, collect eggs and just chat about their busy life. A recommendation to visit Horrocks emporium was appreciated. Great fun!
Lovely meal at Cartford Inn
To sum up a friendly basic CL in a very quiet setting. We'll return.

Stayed here at weekend with our friend (in a tent).
Super flat pitches, secluded little bays perfect for groups like us.
Owners were friendly, laid back and welcoming. They even arranged a fire pit and wood for us.
Plenty of space for the kids to play games and run ragged.
Toilet/ shower block - there is only one but it is huge. The shower was lush, plenty of hot water and room for a family shower. Could do with a mop and bucket adding as I felt bad for not being able clean the floor when the boys had mudded it up.
Remember that this is a working farm. We had the privilege of seeing a calf that was only moments old. The kids were in awe. There are chickens, ducks, owls, bats, rabbits and even a fox was spotted. Very happy.
Locally there is a good fish and chip shop down the road, a good pub and a little spar. 20 mins drive to black pool but there is a farmers market and car boot on route Saturdays and a little car boot Sundays (be early, they pack up about 11).
Would we stay here again -definitely. Would we recommend - Yes

Just returned from a two night stay at this lovely site. Lots of wildlife at night, you could hear the horses as well as the cows and an owl Site was quiet when we were there and facilities were clean. Nothing too much trouble for the owners who were in no rush to take our money, we caught up with John when we were about to leave. We will be returning.

Lovely quiet site. One toilet and shower unit but good size and not far from the pitches.
Lovely owners who are very helpful and want to make sure everybody has a good time. Site is not big but this adds to its charm. Loads of wildlife to be seen and heard from the site, including an owl which was perched on one of our tents when we got back from the Shovels pub!
Loads of space for the children to play. Will definitely be back.

We chose this site for a quiet new year getaway. Due to car problems on the journey we arrived quite late, but the owners were very understanding and also very helpful when it came to siting our caravan in the dark.
The site was everything we hoped for with plenty of hookup points, and the facilities were clean if a little cold(it was December). Again the owners were helpful by giving us a lift to the local shops when the car failed again.
The site is fairly close to local shops, the beach and a friendly pub.
We hope to return once the weather is warmer.
