Likes: friendly staff and pleasant surroundings.
Dislikes: facilities need better maintenance and preferably upgrading. Toilet seat was broken.
The toilet/shower block had an obvious DIY appearance about it. A bit shoddy.

Large pitches right next to fishing lakes that are actually really pretty.
One ladies/disabled toilet, one mens, one shower all on solar power - all a bit shabby looking but functional. Shower was luke warm when I went at about 6pm. Next morning at 8 it was nice and hot.
Site is quiet and chilled, fair bit of nature about, like bats, ducks, a kite hawk and a sweet old collie dog that does the rounds.
Stayed here bc we were going to the arena for a gig, was £13 in an uber from the pub that's about a ten minute walk away.
Getting a bus would have taken an hour but it was a Sunday, not sure what it would be on a weekday.
I'd deffo stay here again.

Lovely no frills campsite with great fishing.
Best to use your own facilities and as its around a lake I'd say not really suited for young kids.
Lovely views but you can hear the m69

It was very wet and the grass around the caravan was sodden and full of puddles.
Facilities are basic but the view of the lake and wildlife makes up for it.

Very pleasant site. Fishing right by the caravan. Good sized carp as well.
The shower works from solar so great when the sun is shining. You only have to wait 30 mins for the water to heat up on duller days.
We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back. It's a great place to chill out.
Lots of wildlife to see.

This is a lovely site with basic facilities if you are looking for P&Q. And yes, it is close to the M69 and you can hear traffic if wind is in right direction, but it didn't bother us.
The site has got a few issues but it is a working farm and (David) the farmer has tried very hard to make it as accommodating as possible, yes there are a few ruts in the tracks leading to the pitches, but these are all minor things that do not distract from the general peace and tranquillity of the site.
To be honest, we have visited many worse sites with feral kids running around, barking uncontrollable dogs, and all manner of other things that will spoil your enjoyment of a holiday, and would cost a hell of a lot more money per night.

We stayed at this site for five nights and could easily have stayed for longer as it suited us very well. The pitches were a good size and well spaced out and perfectly situated right next to the lake.
Des could wake up in the morning and start fishing straight away. There are two lakes with very big healthy fish.
The walks around the lakes and surrounding area were also very good. The shower and toilets are very clean. The security on site is good and the owner and staff very nice.
We could hear the motorway but it didn't bother us. We will definitely be visiting this site again.

My husband and I visit this site regularly as is not far from home and when we are there, could be anywhere. The site is a working farm where there are lots of sheep. The farmer and staff are always friendly and have always done what they can to accommodate our needs. The facilities are basic.
There is a toilet block which consists of one ladies/disabled toilet, one mens toilet and one shower. It is basic but does the job and if not satisfied, you can always use your own facilities. There is water, an outside sink and waste point. The waste point could do with changing, but again, does the job.
There is a lake for fishing at extra cost and fishes really well and the fish are in good condition. The local wildlife is lovley to watch and we have gained a little family of ducks that come and visit each time we are there.
The site is close to the M69 motorway and therefoe you can hear the noise, however, this does seem to go into the background and you don't notice it.
The farmer does allow you to walk around the farm - obviously avoiding going into the fields where the sheep are, but there are routes around the farm and benches at various points.
The farm is close to the local village where you can get your groceries and there are a couple of lovely pubs to try, all about 1 mile away.
I would advise anyone who visits and likes lamb, to try out their meat packs. AMAZING!
We go with our caravan and the pitches are massive so there is no problem with turning around. The pitches do get water logged if there has been a lot of rain. Again, its a farm, next to a lake. Rain tends to make all ground wet.
We enjoy going to this site and agree you may need an open mind, but if you want to chill not too far from home, its great.
