Fairfields Farm is an excellent Adults only site.

We'd booked a pitch on a well known club site in Pevensey for the Airbourne display but when we arrived at the site via a grubby, pot-holed lane with a number of derelict looking houses we felt the site entrance looked more like a traveller encampment (apologies to travellers as some of their sites are quite smart). She who who must be obeyed said "I'd rather go back home than stay there", so we needed somewhere quickly.

We rang around & found Fairfields who helpfully and cheerily fitted us in despite no advance booking (which since Covid seems to rather defeat the idea of touring). All the main pitches were fully booked but they offered a spot in either the meadow or around the fringe of the main pitches. "She who must be obeyed" was naturally a ittle grumpy by now but when we turned up her face turned a lovely shade of pink, the frown disappeared and I think I even saw a slight smile as we entered their wide, manicured driveway with the little shop-cum-office on the right. In my mind I silently said a "thank you" to the chap upstairs.

The Fairfields wardens are friendly & charming, the site is very well maintained. The toilet block, whilst not new, was clean and very well maintained as was the Elsan point.

There is the option of Bus or Rail a stones throw from the site entrance, There are 3 pubs within walking distance (one only allows diners to sit inside but has a large rear garden with an outide serving point), and Pevensey castle is about a 15 minute walk away. On the way, there is a charming little museum in the original local authority building.

Opposite the entrance to the castle is a pub and next to that a public convenience. I popped myself into the convenience before embarking on a lovely walk across the fields to the main Pevensey-Eastbourne road and couldn't believe how well maintained and spotlessly clean it was. It's rare to find one and even rarer one in such a good condition, so thanks and congratulations to the local authority.

All in all, a very pleasant time was had and the best part is. Adults only, which for us oldies is as good as it gets. A very relaxing and peaceful stay

She who must be obeyed wants to go back again next year. Result!

9 nights on nice quiet adults only site,

All spotless well maintained facilities. Huge pitches with Electric hook up, well stocked shop on site.

Short walk to pubs / fish and chip shop there you can find all that you need to eat. Some lovely dog walks through the castle short walk from the site.

We had a very friendly welcome from Manager who went the extra mile to get this site to this high standard.

Dislikes (small) lack of privacy if pitched by the toilet / shower blocks lots of people walking past your windows around caravan to use facilities.

We will be back. Thank you Alan & Joan.

 Very good site

Extremely clean

Very quiet

My only bitch is that a couple of the notices were OTT, ie in the showers it said "Misuse of these facilities will not be TOLERATED"

And on the welcome letter it said something like "Campsite rules to be obeyed" - in big red letters.

This is now an adult only site. We were visiting friends near by and it was ideal.

The main site is fairly small but decent sized pitches. It is easy to find, the owners/wardens were lovely and the little shop useful.

We camped down near the pond as didn’t need electric.

The facilities look a bit utilitarian inside (metal doors and surrounds) but makes so much sense for maintenance! They were kept very clean and showers were good and hot too. I also used one of the more recent wet rooms and they were great too, lots of space and hooks.

The walk around the back past the camping field is lovely - peacocks, quails, horses and sheep the mown path meanders through and there is a dog field too.

No one was in the camping field but it looked immaculately kept…don’t think I have ever seen such a level neat camping field! It is a walk to the toilet block but there is an ‘emergency’ toilet if needed.

Lovely area too with bus stop, train line and Pevensey castle close-by but we could only hear it faintly,

We found the site nice and quiet. Will return.

We could see why this site has achieved 9 out of 10 stars.

We had a dire drive there, wet and windy, bumpy roads and more than one set of roadworks however we were greeted with a very pleasant welcome and invited to park however we liked on our allocated pitch.

At this point I found that the site is on a gentle slope and our particular pitch also had a fairly deep rut so I had to use a ramp which I drove over the top of and damaged the drainage outlets. My fault entirely, by this time I was becoming short tempered.

However; the site is part of a farm and there is a very enjoyable walk amongst the well looked after animals and birds.

It is only a short walk into the village and the Roman castle.

The site is within an hours drive of a number of National Trust sites.

The toilets and showers appear a little dated but in excellent condition and cleaned very well.

I have no trouble recommending this site and would certainly use it again if going to that area.

 A gem of a site.

We received a very warm welcome at reception and then shown to our pitch by the warden, Tony.

If only all wardens could be like Tony! Nothing was too much trouble and he was always at hand with a smile (but not at all intrusive)

Once settled we tend not to use the Motorhome and use public transport or walk. With the station being a five minute walk this site is perfect.

We visited Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes.

We will be back.

Another relaxing week at Fairfields, with the weather being so wet we never got the ok to go until 3 days before, thanks Mark.

The ground was still so soft but with the help of Tony (Warden) we pitched up without issue.

It is now adults only so only noise came from the birds🙂, the fishing lake is looking good but please remember it’s free so if a bit weedy it is what it is 👍

My husband and I have been coming to this campsite for the last 6 years and found the campsite to be very well run.

The shower block is very well kept and very clean as is the toilet block.

It also has a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer also two sinks if you wish to do hand washing.

Grounds are kept very well maintained as is the washing up area.

The shop on-site is well stocked.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We always enjoy our stay as it is like home from home.

There is a mainline train station less than a five minute walk that takes you to Eastbourne, Hastings & Brighton.

It's a very nice and peaceful site that has no clubhouse on it.

This is an Adult only site which is perfect for us.
